i thought these new fords came with a Locker in the rear? great investment if you decide to get one. you wont get stuck on these little hills. nice video and great truck. i have a 07 4 door fx4. it still is a great truck.
needs locker or posi if you drive it on the street a lot try the detroit tru trac my neighbors 79 bronco has one in the rear, cant even tell its there until you need it. im putting it in my 79 bronco in the front and rear. and yes we both have 79 broncos and there is a 3rd one the next block over lol.
That thing is desperate for a rear locker and traction bars. With that high a lift, your rear end is flexing upward and begins to hop...loosing traction. Not too mention extreme wear on your u-joints.
YEAH I ALSO HAVE A JEEP J20 PICK UP I HAVE IT FOR 15 YEARS WITH DANA 60 FULL LOCKER , 14 BOLT FULL LOCKER , 205 CASE , USED TO HAVE 4 SPEED BUT I DIDN'T LIKE IT NOW HAS THE NV4500 THE SAMURAI I HAD IT LIKE THREE YEARS AGO. I BEEN FOUR WHEELING FOR 22 YEARS BUT IF WROTE THIS BECAUSE OF MY FORD F550 YES I DO HAVE IT BUT I DON'T USE IT MUCH FOR OFFROAD . I USED TO HAVE A JEEP CJ 7 BEFORE TOO . THE ONLY TRUCK THAT I NEVER HAD ONE IS THE TOYOTA LANCRUISER FJ40 BUT ONE DAY
Interesting that you also have a "I HAVE A 1982 6.2 DIESEL 6 INCH ON 37S TIRE FOR NOW HAS THE GM 10 BOLT AND THE GM 12 BOLD BUT IN A FEW MONTHS I'M PUTTING ONE TON AXLES AND A 700R4 . I HAVE 410 GEARS BUT I NEED THE OVERDRIVE . I LOVE MY K5" and a Samuri.
So I'm pretty nooby on this stuff. I bought a 2001 f150 xl 4x4 sport about a year ago and I've done a little bit of offroading but I really wanna get into it. I'm too scared to do a lot because it's my daily driver, but also because I don't wanna get stuck in a situation that'll make me really wish I had a rear locker. I don't know a lot about cars... is a locking differential something I can install or have installed? How much would that cost? And I noticed that this truck has a lot of wiggle room in terms of the up-down range of motion on the tires. Is there a sway bar or something to be removed before you can get that extra range of movement in the suspension or do you need to upgrade the suspension for that? Any responses are greatly appreciated. Again, I'm kind of retarded on these things
Samuel Petrovich I had a Detroit locker in the 9 inch on my 85 full size Bronco. 2 WD most places the heeps have to be in 4\4. The ford truck is built hard core, tires and a WARN winch will always be an asset. Drive smart, go OFFROAD
BaKeDCrAcKer Pretty sure the FX4's came with limited slip at best. Better than an open diff, but nothin like a locker. Hell, at least a torsen diff like the Raptors/Hummers. Ive got Detroit TruTracs in front and rear, and its amazing. Probably coulda saved a lot of money just welding the front diff tho...
Need a good set of lockers, front and rear. Or just the rear, and weld the front diff. Would own that trail after that.
my 2013 and 2015 have locking rear diff, big difference
11 years ago doesn’t feel so long ago😢

That is a really nice truck.
And THIS is why you ALWAYS look at the CarFax lol.
4:30 is how axles snap lol
1:20 someone needs a locker me thinks....i feel your pain
I feel the same way for the lockers open diff sucks
Beautiful truck
Sweet truck! it dosent look like it sits high with those tires!
And 1:28 and on is why my F150 has a rear Detroit Locker!
needs locker or posi if you drive it on the street a lot try the detroit tru trac my neighbors 79 bronco has one in the rear, cant even tell its there until you need it. im putting it in my 79 bronco in the front and rear. and yes we both have 79 broncos and there is a 3rd one the next block over lol.
kirk0respite I've got trutracs in the front/rear of my 03 F150. They are amazing for sure.
I recently put truetracs front and rear of my 2007.. they are great
are you on crack
I was about to comment the same thing, a diff lock its the answer to all your problems.
It has a diff lock just pull the 4wd knob towards you to engage it otherwise it will never lock by itself.
E-lock wasn't on the fx4 until 2009. I had one and it worked great. Except for it could only be locked in 4x4. My 2012 Can lock in 2wd
Very nice truck, thought these FX4's came with factory lockers?
Mine did
That thing is desperate for a rear locker and traction bars. With that high a lift, your rear end is flexing upward and begins to hop...loosing traction. Not too mention extreme wear on your u-joints.
Should prob either get rid of the fender flares or get smaller tires
YEAH I ALSO HAVE A JEEP J20 PICK UP I HAVE IT FOR 15 YEARS WITH DANA 60 FULL LOCKER , 14 BOLT FULL LOCKER , 205 CASE , USED TO HAVE 4 SPEED BUT I DIDN'T LIKE IT NOW HAS THE NV4500 THE SAMURAI I HAD IT LIKE THREE YEARS AGO. Windows open and everything gnarly

Very good tires
Is this the same f150 that had the bad power steering pump? Truck looks different clean! haha
Which exhaust do you have? Saounds pretty nice
Rear Locker comes standard on a GMC and Chevy🙃
No it doesn't. But nobody wants a g80 anyways lol.
what do u find your mpg is with the lift and tires? friggin sweet 150 man love fords
Is there no way to lock the diffs on this F150?
Why did his rear end perform like an open diff? Thought fx4 came with a torsen L/S?
I don't think so. I think fx4 is more appearance than performance.
Lol, that's cool. Can your 79 Toyota seat 5 comfortably while towing a loaded 22ft toy hauler? I don't think so.
Old thread but nice truck!
is this near the Panoche shooting area? The other side of I5
Do these models have a locker or did they not offer that at the time?
Limited slip. The locking rear didn't become available till 09.
Nice video but @ 1:20 and 3:40 you really needed a diff lock
Well i would hope so...
How much is it lifted?

Truetrac, nobody knows they are unless you need it
Samuel Petrovich

What lift and tire size :O i want to do that to my truck!!!!
nor the driver or his assistant have a clue about off road driving ,
What year is the f150 ?
2004-2008 11gen
all i read on yours is that you have a 79 toyota thats worth 2000 bucks and the shits weak so you have to walk it back home
My girlfriend has the same truck as you.
A.c. pulley or compressor needs changed haha
Invest in supercharger
Still need practice
somebody's jealous I see.. :)
Don't you guys ever review/test regular cab trucks! Not everyone cares about fully loaded and/or extended and crew cab trucks.
Get some Vaseline, it won't hurt 🤕 as much
ya need a locker
Garrett Neese The fx4 comes with a rear dif lock. atleast mine did.

Raptors have E lockers in the rear diff. not just LSD...FYI
@@BaKeDCrAcKer The F150 didn't offer a locking rear diff until 2009. Now, Ford offers the e-locker in just about every configuration, even the 2wd.
Real men drive Raptors!!!!!
why its to wide and you can't get a 6ft box with an Ext cab which removes all utility from the truck
to be fair i don't like his set up either because its still the 5ft bed and to get a full crew cab with the 6ft box is way to long
Bro, stop yelling, we can read lower case too...
Too tall .
I think my 2wd TRD Tacoma can do better than that
MY SUZUKI SAMURAI CAN DO BETTER
Weak
You didn’t set it in 4L INC in the FX4 package
