I took the Vitex or Chaste Tree stem cuttings from a Shoal Creek Vitex Chaste Tree. I used Clonex rooting hormone and put in 32 cell Rootmaker trays. I used my propagation soil mix too. Will do an update when the vitex trees are rooted out and ready to transplant into bigger pots.

I have propogated actual branches from this tree. Just stick the soft wood branch in ground, they root easily.
That's awesome,,,I believe it
Amana, you just cut a branch and stick in the dirt-and they grow? I have my first Vitex tree and want more! ;)
Been waiting for this video. So excited.
Great,, Started these early enough that I should be able to get them to maybe 3 gallon before winter,,,Thanks for watching!
Thank you for this video! I’ll for sure be looking for a tree to get cuttings from. Do you know if the dome works in all sizes of root maker trays? I noticed you used the 32 size for the video. Thank you
Nice
Thanks!
You’ve mentioned several times that you don’t yet have a greenhouse. You’ve also mentioned that you don’t have a misting system at least I think that’s what you have said. Regarding the humidity domes and the trays where do you keep them after you propagate them. If you keep them outdoors under shade, how do you keep the humidity dams from blowing away in strong winds? Just curious. Your videos are very helpful. Thank you.
I keep the trays with humidity domes under my grow benches, The get full shade under there and are somewhat protected from wind. I have considered making a stacked shelf (outside) and covering with shade cloth, but under the grow bench seems to work well for me,,just look for no direct sun and lots of natural light and they should work for you
Thanks a lot that helps. So your Grove adventures are inside. Is that correct?
All my stuff is outside with the exception of my african violets and tropical plants.
I have a cypress tree, and I know you have a video about planting the seeds from your tree. My question is how to collect the seeds. The seed hull is green now. What should I do with it?
The whole cone just crushes and becomes seeds once the become dark brown and brittle and ripe. If you are talking about the big southern American cypress and not the Italian cypress. The cones will very easily crush under your fingers when ready.
