Last time out I had a chance to play a run around FH inside out, and believe me it was nothing like the ball I see you hit, but it was enough to get him out with one foot past the alley. The reply predictably came to the ad side, and I was able to easily step around that one and take it inside in down the line for a clean winner. This is one of a number of plays that shot opens up, once we get comfortable with the footwork to get in position to take the ball in a nice rhythm. Thanks, Brady!
I love this SHOT. so good to have in your box of tricks... most guys at 4.0-4.5 expect the inside OUT to their backhand. I basically get winners by going inside in or a short reply!
Great video, thanks! I am 6'6", 230 lbs playing at a 4.5 level and really appreciate seeing tennis instruction from a tall instructor. I was a professional athlete for 10 yrs and needed something to keep stoking my competitive needs and tennis is it. I've been playing for 2.5 yrs and really am focusing on point play trying to improve offensive groundies/footwork and your videos have been very helpful, thanks again! -Ty P.S. I noticed you went to Udub, are you from the PNW? I was a Husky for a short time before baseball.
as a lefty i can confirm this move is pretty lethal in amateur level (i play 4.0-4.5), especially you can do both inside-in and inside-out and be able to disguise until the very last moment. i have won many points & matches relying on this
@@DailyTennisLesson Thank you! One more question if you don't mind. Is the forehand loading leg always the outside leg in both the open and closed stances?
This is one of my favorite shots. I hit this with more spin than usual. The best shot to counter somebody doing this to you is a deep roller xcourt forehand, you should be preprogrammed to hit that shot.

I agree with Mr. Martin ..Your instruction is excellent, timely, and through! Thanks for the effort!
Wished you'd get more views - your efforts deserve a bigger audience - good stuff.
+Rick Martin Totally agreed!
+Rick Martin Thanks Rick! Plenty more videos & courses on the way!

That's the beauty of the run-around forehand--you've got many great options.

Hi. Is it true that both the inside out and the inside in forehands have to follow the inside out swing path?
The swing paths on these two shots are nearly identical. It's the timing that is different.

When Nadal's footwork is on, he hits a whole bunch of these inside in to trap guys there then blasts one inside out.
+You En Yep Nadal will hit this all the way from his opposite doubles alley. Devastating shot to say the least!
