My base strategy is pray I make contact lol. I just started using pin point and got to say I got pretty good at it but hitting is where I’m struggling a lot. Thanks for the video

Honestly, hitting is broken. Its pretty much up to the computer to decide if you get a hit or not. I throw balls 4 inches outside and off the plate to Tatis Jr. but he will then pull the ball for a homerun. Thats just absurd and never happens in baseball. Plus, PCI is waaaay OP. They need to provide PCI with the same hit average they do for stride flick and directional.

This is my first year playing mlb the show . Of all the content I come across yours seems time and again more useful and interesting
If contact and balanced hitters get into a 2 strike count, you can keep the PCI in the center and use the contact swing to protect the zone. Be patient and lay off anything outside the zone, and swing at anything that comes in or close to the zone. The goal is to either punish a mistake pitch that's comes over the heart of the plate, or foul everything thing off to work your way into a 3-2 hitters count, forcing him to throw his best pitch right down the middle for a strike.
I like playing player v cpu cause batting practice is good n all but you don’t get any xp with batting practice only n it also lets you practice fielding too! I do like the putting the PCI where the pitch is released I will do that thanks for all the tips
I’ve found that tracking the ball is huge. You truly don’t have time to mentally adjust pci so you kind of have to trust your pci placement and focus on timing. Game rewards timing more than placement it seems
I thought that too but since Ive started playing a lot recently ive noticed that pci placement is really the most important thing, I don't remember it being like that when the game first released so it might've been a patch they just released
Not at all. I completely believe its up to the computers random generation as to whether or not you get a hit. Its too random and much harder to hit in this game then in real life.
12:10 Also hit pause an inning in and scroll to stats and then Pitcher Analysis you can get a good read on the opponent and their strategy if you are patient 👍
This game has fucking mentally broke me. I had to go down to veteran hitting and I’m still shitting the bed. I used to be able to drive in 12 runs on a good game. Now I’m lucky to get 1.
It's cause they've made pinpoint pitching op as fuck. I've said fuck the pci and zone hitting. I do pure analog as it's the most realistic to how a swing is in real life and you don't have a pci so your just watching the ball and only the ball not trying to get your pci somewhere

Bro I've seen mostly all the videos on how to hit better with PCI cause honestly i suck at hitting I'm trying to get better, but let me tell you when I saw your video the way you broke it down i just used one of your methods and it was perfect for me, I'm hitting much more, thanks bro!
For me it feels like I gotta swing at a fastball as soon as it comes out of the pitcher's hand or else I'll be late. Serious props to those crushing it on the higher difficulties

the tracking the pitch tip has really helped me i was in a heavy slump swinging at some of the most ridiculous out of zone pitches
man I can hit custom practice on HOF. then I get to all star online and am terrible lol I can't figure it out
You may be too dialed up for fastballs! If you practice on HoF for all star, then your timing is gonna be early usually
should I practice on Allstars then? probably right?
Online speed is cranked up a bit so all star can definitely feel like HoF speed some times. But I bet the main thing you're struggling with is the pitch selection and what not. The cpu pitches pretty predictably and makes a TON of mistakes. Real people don't. Especially with pinpoint. I'd say just pay extra special attention to patterns. A lot of people can't help themselves from falling into patterns. They'll use the same pitch 0-2 every time or when they really want a strike out. They'll start lefties off with the same pitch every time. Always follow a fastball up with offspeed down. Things like that. It is tough in the heat of the game but it really really helps.

I am pretty good at having good plate discipline. I dont swing at everything. My main problem is getting the ball in play. I'm always hitting foul balls just left or right of the foul posts. Is this just a timing thing? Which strikes I'm choosing to swing at? I am aggressive to defend the plate. I swing at every stike. My PCI placement is fairly good, sometimes I get a little eager on breaking ball and pull down and end up having a pop fly which I don't argue with but sometimes the ball is completely in the pci zone and I still foul out. I believe its because the swing is too early or too late but man I would be shocked if that's strictly what it is. Someone help. Which strikes should I swing at I guess is my problem
Some really good tips. My question is how do you take the lag into consideration? I play Warzone (totally different game) but there is never a lag in game. I jump in RS and sometimes I feel like the game pauses when I swing. Especially with longer swings like Soriano or Buxton. I also feel like I jerk my PCI when I press A and it messes my placement all up. Still learning and will keep practicing.
I feel that there isn’t a lag with hitting, at least from my knowledge. Sometimes, pitch speeds can feel a *little* slower in online play but overall I play so much online it’s kinda numb for me
I feel you I do feel like it's some type of slight delay but I been seeing that it could be the case of input lag

Nah fr I gotta say a lot of videos say just practice what works for you and honestly that’s all it really is. Just like real life. If you’re not good at hitting you’re more than likely not going to be good at hitting on The Show.. what I did was start at Beginner for a while and just got used to the strike zone. Then I put it on dynamic and did the “live and learn” method

Fastballs are stupid fast this year, I feel like I’m swinging as soon as the ball gets past the mound and I’m still late on it, my batting average was around .270 last year and now I’m at .236 this year. I’m at a total loss of what to do at the plate this year. And I always start my swing so early to attempt to hit the fastball that I end up chasing every breaking pitch and get early timing on them. This game has been zero fun for me this year.

Btw you should give being a hitting coach for a little league team a try & work your way up. You obviously have it down, a bunch of youngsters could learn plenty from you.
My question is practicing, I feel like just trying to get the timing can reinforce bad habits because you have to work at the timing. How do you know when to press A
Again, I don’t have the best gauge of timing but I just have a point where I see the ball get to where it’s just instinct to swing. It’s different for each hitter but getting timing down is 100% a practice and reps things to me
Two tips:
1) look at the feedback in the bottom left, it will tell you if you’re late or early
2) I know it’s hard but if you look at the batters leg, they will do a pronounced leg kick when they are ready to hit
I’m no expert but I think you’re best starting with just trying to trace the ball first without swinging. Then when you’re comfortable with following the ball, start trying to hit them. Even if you just start with just fastballs down the middle to get the the timing right then expand your range

Mentally 95% of players throw balls at 0-1 and 1-1 counts. I play the odds and look for patterns
I strangely find myself either way behind a fastball or way in front of it. I will swing at a fastball and pull it foul, the game will say very early. And I just scratch my head wondering how in the heck was I ahead of that fast ball.
My biggest problem is pitch recognition what can help with this?
its a scenario based,,, dont always swing on first pitch on the first 5 innings,,use the innings to feel out if the pitcher is throwing strikes or balls,, them expect a fastball on 2-1 count and a breaking ball on an 0-2 count, in later innings they will throw alot of balls,, my goal is gor the pitcher to throw at least 10 pitches per inning to tire them out in the later innings and crush the ball easier

I am trying to not flip as much but I am seriously lost. How is it that using zone I am getting good timing and perfects with near perfect PCI placement but only getting 3 or 4 hits per game ?
Meanwhile, folks are nuking contact swings … all week .
Here's the problem I have. Been playing this game for 5 years now, .330 Hitter .750 winning percentage and yes I'm still here learning. The issue I have is the Timing is always different from game to game nothing is universal. I think everyone knows what I'm talking about. Then You have guys like Weens and Mcgunski that have perfect pci placement and timing on every pitch which is pretty amazing.
I do feel this at points too, feels like my timing is all over the place some days!

Is normal to go through “slumps” like real hitters do? Like sometimes I can see the ball well and rake but then a few days later I just can’t see the ball out of the pitchers hand and keep getting fooled constantly.

mine is day to day....for example, last night, I was pitching perfect pitch after perfect pitch, was a single pitch away from having all 9 immaculate innings and cpu blooped one just over the 2B, however with batting I couldnt do much of anything. Today I'm blasting bombs with every other swing, but can't seem to make a perfect pitch for nothing...and I have had tons of times where I've slumped batting for days.. As far as slumps being pre-programmed into the game where it kinda just makes it more difficult to simulate a slump, I don't think so.

My player just keeps doing check swings even if i have good timing, i he rarely does a full swing. what am I doing wrong. Like even if i guess placement correctly he'll check swing and not swing fully

Go into Custom Practice mode in the main menu, then go into "Team Practice"!

Depends on what youre trying to practice, I find that practice to be overkill unless youre pushing for World Series in 800+ rating

I do! I use the Galaxies! The short one for hitting and tall for pitching. Also, I do talk about that kind of thing in older videos if you wanna check it out!

You may wanna start your PCI in a different spot then you currently are. If you start your PCI right down the middle, you may be getting used to just automatically moving the PCI on any pitch in a scenario where you dont really need to.

Nice video but for me for some reason its like my game is glitched. Regardless of the swing I never hit homers either I get a base hit or a flyout at the track....its weird because everyone i watch and play against always smashes home runs with much worse timing and pci placement

@@Scann I'd like to see that. It's something Ive been crazy curious about. Everybody talks about individual swings but ive never seen anything that actually shows player A's swing is literally slower than player B's swing. My money is on the stance and the height and the handedness of the player messing with the player. For instance I struggle hitting with people with closed stances. It's just a mental thing but I really don't think those players swings are slower than someone else. I could be wrong tho. I'd love to see a frame by frame breakdown.
