Divine was such a sweet man and had such beautiful blue eyes. I'm a straight woman and found him attractive as either man or woman. I have always struggled with my weight and it's always been a sensitive topic for me and I know he got bullied for his weight as a child as I did. It was probably a sensitive topic for him as well,but he did seem to embrace himself. Now Murial Grey was just rude but Divine handled it with grace
He was careless about his own health, he ate a lot of junk and smoked marijuana, it even seemed like he was being bullied when he was fighting his demons
What he offered through Divine was so much more than 'trying' to be a women or female impersonation. Divine was a drag persona and a character, and a fabulous being. I love the over the top like take on 50's glamour, it works in the performance. The industry misses Divine
Wrong, he never thought of himself as a Drag Queen, if an actor ever wanted to break out of these instereotypical Drag Queen characters, he would want to play male characters
Muriel Grey obviously did no research and had no idea of who he was, although she was a journalist and broadcaster, that says a lot about that profession! He was so composed and nice when being called grotesque by her, she should have looked in a mirror first! He pushed the boundaries and without people like him, we would not be were we are today. And He, out of drag definitely displayed his beauty by taking such a bitch comment, and moving on with class. Before these last few days, i knew almost nothing about Divine except for her role in Hairspray. I had no idea she had such a following as well as music videos. I gotta be honest, the only one I truly like is "Walk like a man", it's so funny, and catchy.
