    Bro it’s crazy what my heartbeat does in this game when I haven’t even encountered combat during the raid yet. Like why tf am i so nervous!?
    Yet i can run a scav raid all day long and never feel a thing. Well, until I pick up an item I need for a task or something…

    • @sadmoneysoulja
      @sadmoneysoulja 11 місяців тому +1

      because you don't put effort and time playing scav raids, i don't even play scav this wipe, although it feels good hunting down pmc squads on streets as a scav for a change
      came here for emotions, not hoarding

      @@sadmoneysoulja Nah man, i’m just inexperienced in the game and haven’t learned how to pmc raid effectively. Effectively meaning the following: knowing the pmc spawns, hot spots, general flow of the map, etc. so i usually get head tapped and have no idea where from or how to learn from it.
      As a scav i have nothing to lose and noticed I usually spawn away from pmcs so i can explore and loot in peace (mostly). Plus as a scav voip seems like a solid way to avoid getting shot even when you run into pmcs since everyone likes the coop extracts for some easy karma and good vibes.
      Not sure why you came at me sideways like that, but I do plan to try to get better at the game. I was simply just sharing my experience with the heart pounding adrenaline rush the game gives me purely from the gear fear alone like he mentioned in the video.

      @@True_Camo "maining scav" is a meme that's looked down upon in Tarkov community. It's discouraged for a good reason even though it might be a necessity for new players being a risk-free way to learn new maps and find loot spots. The problem is that if you avoid playing as a PMC you won't progress. You must learn how to outplay other PMCs and the best way to do that is to engage in PVP on equal terms, not as a scav with a 50 durability toz wearing a butchered level 2 armour.
      If you want to get better at PVP quicker use Arena as a practice tool. Personally, my aim and feel for close quarter fights has gotten much better after playing it. Still, it's a different game having different pacing and involving less tactics than EFT. Either way, you can't avoid running raids as a PMC, you will have to suffer just as the rest of us.
      If you're having a hard time, join one of the many community Discords and play in groups. People are mostly welcoming and will happily team up to do tasks or goof around.

    • @True_Camo
      @True_Camo 11 місяців тому +4

      @@OFfic3R1K Just to clarify, I never said that I main my scav. I just said that I don’t get nearly as nervous on my scav runs as i do my pmc runs, which anyone can relate to, especially when starting out.
      I do load in as a pmc and try to get better at the game, but anyone can admit that the learning curve in this game is pretty steep, especially when playing solo.

    I’ve got 1000hrs in tarkov (just under 1000 officially) and I’m not nearly as good as I could be. I first bought the game in 2021, but I didn’t really start putting my head down and learning the game until several wipes after I bought it. Took me close to 500hrs to get halfway decent. If I would’ve spent my time actively using these tips, and not caring after I die, I’d be a lot better than I am now. I’m still leagues ahead of where I started, I can pretty much play the game casually and have fun, but I have a long way to go, and I want to keep getting better. I still find myself getting stuck in fight or flight (freeze is actually the third response) and I mostly freeze up. I’m gonna actively try to not do that, because I know how easy it is to make money and get that same gear back. Loved the content. Keep it up brother!

    Loved this vid, happy to sub!
    I also wanted to add something that really helped me this wipe, as I am an anxious person (and not super great at tarkov lmao):
    One of my first goals was to lose my entire starting stash. Just straight up. It was not The Fear, it was The Goal. I played as best as I could, but when I got shot in the neck by a scav who bodied 14 of my rounds, the silver lining was "Okay, good, that's another starting kit down."
    Weirdly it made the loss sting *so* much less, and it really helped me come to terms with the realization that dying and losing gear doesn't hurt *that* bad, unless you're beating yourself up for it too.

  • @huntersisemore4185

    I've played a few wipes now and this is the wipe where Ive truly gotten rid of my gear fear. If there is one thing ive learned from playing this game the past 4 years is that once you get a solid understanding of a few maps and know where to look, there is plenty of good gear to be snatched up. Armor, guns, ammo, meds, and attachments are all over the place. Use those findings to build better and better weapons that can help you snowball even harder. Sure dying with a nice kit sucks, but hopefully by the time you do die with it you'll have gotten 2x the value out of it (which gets easier if your finding more gear as you go). If you do roll with a team, I personally still like to insure things in the chance that it might come back either from a buddy stashing it for me or the enemy just doesnt have the time/space to take it with them, wont always get your stuff back but its better than nothing.

    • @xoTaken
      @xoTaken  11 місяців тому +2

      Exactly right. On the insurance note I find when playing in a group it's always effective to do it even if it costs a bit because the more players in the group = less gear enemies can take

      Was about to comment the same thing. I'm more aggressive this wipe, I think it's because I have a solid rat run on reserve where I can make all the money I need easily.
      but I still get MASSIVE adrenaline dump after a good gunfight. If I lose, it kinda sucks ass, but if I win, the dopamine is insane.

    • @huntersisemore4185
      @huntersisemore4185 11 місяців тому

      @@blakkatana I’ll admit that the recoil changes have made it a lot easier for me to be willing to use better gear. Before, I always had to wait and see if I could get the proper shot off before engaging with even a decently modded (but not meta) weapon. I’m way more confident in my gun ability now that I can consistently control my weapon, making it a lot easier to bring better gear in to edge the fight in my favor.

    You’re 100% right about Arena.
    I’ve only played a couple days of arena and I already felt much more confident in my pvp skills this wipe. So much that I even attempted Stirrup on factory for the first time ever (in my previous wipes, I’ve just skipped it entirely). And I shit you not, I completed it in only 2 raids with no deaths (1st raid: 1 pmc kill, 4 scav kills and successful extract; 2nd raid: 2 pmc kills and successful extract).
    Before Arena was added, I was abysmal in all pvp fights I had in tarkov to where I’d win in less than 1 in 20 fights.

    Definitely feeling the anxiety due to awful track record in PvP encounters. Playing on and off since 2020 with 1300 hours under my belt and I still feel like most human opponents outskill me. Knowing that the opposition clicks on my head way faster and more precisely than I ever can really discourages me from ever going past the early wipe, as the fellow forever Timmies also quit and most tasks now require me to kill PMCs and/or play the newer, much more PvP orieneted maps like Reserve. Having to spend so much time sitting in loading screens vs. the time I stay alive if I don't rat out the half the raid is just soul crushing, as I love the game concept and the thrills it can give. Perhaps one of these days I'll just give up on tasking and just dry to bulldoze PvP, maybe something will finally stick.. And yeah, Arena exists now but that's just not Tarkov as it's missing all the things that makes Tarkov interesting to me: varied asymmetrical locations, PvPvE, looting etc..

    • @xoTaken

    On the off chance somebody has a similar problem to me: check your mouse sensitivity. Might sound unrelated, but at least partially my gear fear was caused by a string of very pathetic deaths during encounters with other PMCs. I panicked in fights and couldn't hit seemingly easiest shots either in cqb or at range. Turned out I f'd something up when converting my mouse sensitivity from other game I play to Tarkov and it resulted with an almost x2 higher sens from my regular one, which when combined with paniced state made hitting shots extremely hard. After fixing this, I instantly felt more confident in PVP, because I could rely on my aim once again, instead of thinking that as soon as I encounter somebody I'd whiff every shot and die.

    I struggle massively with nervousness and shakiness in Tarkov. EFT is very hostile game to newcomers no matter how experienced gamers they are. Ground ZERO helped a bit in patch 0.14 and should be utilized by newbies a lot to get some raids under their belt early.
    The video provided several useful tips but it also runs into the overarching problem with EFT--the game feels like work. Recording your sessions, analyzing deaths, writing down solutions feels like work rather than joyful gaming experience. When I work, I at least get paid.
    I would like to add a few tips for others that helped me:
    1. Utilize Ground ZERO map
    2. Set a specific goal and try to achieve it in each raid, do not just run in mindlessly
    3. Use Scav runs as often as possible
    4. Learn travel times from certain spots on maps to frequent extraction points
    5. Achieving lvl15 and access to the Flea market massively helped with my gear fear. I'm not afraid of losing money, I'm afraid of losing gear I can not buy. Flea market solves this problem at least partially even if you have to pay premium for some gear or mods.

    I have been working on my gear fear seems to come and go all depends what I'm wearing. My gear fears mainly based around my weapon. Not too worried about my armor. I seem to be finding it a lot this wipe but I definitely discovered the ridiculousness of my fear and I have 100% been pushing more fights lately my main problem was after losing a gun fight I would dwell on that fight and pretty much tell myself over and over again. I'm bad I shouldn't have lost that next time play it safer lol obviously you can see how this would snowball into doing. Absolutely nothing what would help me was pretty much doing what you said Take control sometimes even if I'm uncomfortable with aggressiveness I will push myself through that after all it's just a game and why did I purchase a game Definitely not to sit hiding in a bush I tried it to take that uncomfortable feeling and I try to divert that uncomfortable feeling to my enemy I bring in some 5 second fuse grenades. It's awesome towards the area that you think they're in. Most people think the grenades going to go off pretty much immediately after they hear it land the three to four seconds that that thing sitting on the ground just cooking makes just about everybody move around they've already accepted their death so now the only thing they're thinking about is possibly avoiding it so they move without thinking either the grenade will get them or you'll get them when they move

    Just started the game a few days ago, and I told myself I’d just play around, figure things out, without really thinking about loosing gear and money. Once I got the basics, I’ll wipe my account and have a fresh start without all the mistakes I’ve made the first few runs.
    And I don’t have this MPC anxiety do begin with, as I don’t really care for my stuff. Good tips for newcomers I believe

    The way i get a little bit of anxiety off me, is by playing music in the background. Some of you may ask "Music? If you listen to music, then you can't hear footsteps", and that may be true, but i don't have volume set to 1000%, just enough so i can hear it, and i can hear somehow steps. Since i started listening to music while i play tarkov, i just started to kill more and more players much easier. I started to play more aggresively and so on. That may not help many people, but that's my solution for anxiety. Have a nice day guys :D.

    Really good video man! I'm currently eyeing up the next wipe, since I just don't have the time to play much ATM.
    I watched thousands of hours but only played like 70 and never got higher than level 12 I think. I tried Arena, but going up against full auto M4/AKs with my SKS and dogshit ammo seems like a waste of time.
    I currently play Battlebit: Remastered to get my aim and recoil control as best as it can be. I also have over 100h in Kovaaks, so if you have a specific playlist, I'll gladly try it out!

    I'm afraid of playing solo because as a PMC, you start at the beggining of the round, and you''ll get to experience all the crazy shit that happens and everyone is your enemy, as a scav you'll not have to shoot other scavs, but agaisnt pmcs you are basically dead. Man, i really wish to have the balls to play this solo, but i'm a coward it sucks.

    quite a funny video but to really stay true to the title i think you forgot a crucial argument to get over gear fear:
    That Exfil with faceshield,
    that redut
    and that meta m4 will never be the reason you survived/died if it sits in the stash.
    you have to use it to make it a good kit otherwise its just expensive metalparts and fabric.
    preaching that helped me over gear fear years ago and everybody i was the sherpa off since then.

    I don't think doing a Google sheets breakdown of your deaths is necessary but it's true that the only way you learn to play well in Tarkov is by dying. Playing Tarkov has 2 main aspects: knowledge and Momentum.
    Knowledge is learning all the environments and mechanics of the game which you can only do by playing a lot, or playing with/watching others who know more than you.
    Momentum is about realising that Tarkov is a net positive game, it honestly doesn't matter how bad you are, you will always progress and earn more money and items, especially if you play Scav often and just loot everything. The economy of Tarkov grows over a wipe and everyone benefits, so you might as well use what you've got because you'll be able to buy most of it again

    • @xoTaken
      @xoTaken  11 місяців тому +1

      It's probably not needed for majority of players but I've used this method on many games and it's helped me tonne to reach high ranks. Perfect point about the economy growing, the roubles will constantly grow maybe with some dips but it WILL grow
