Nice chops. I like the ride on your left side the best.

I also have a 22" Mel Lewis ride and it is a great instrument. I'll be in the same boat as the others are mid 60s Zildjian A. But I'll be looking for a crash/ride, perhaps 19" or 20" with slightly more volume and a bit dryer just for variation. I am going with Mel Lewis' preference on dual purpose here. Of course, it is a personal choice and music genre.

These unlike the other kinds of unique voiced series of Istanbul rides & crashes I've heard, sound much like Zildjian A Series to me.

Could you please tell me the weight of each cymbal and their position on the kit? I have the Mel Lewis 22" Ride and I'd like to get a complimentary crash for my ride, maybe even a second crash? I wish that I could have got a complete matched set from you..... Many thanks!

I guess nobody at Agop checks the channel after a video is posted? I'm still looking for the right crash to go with my 22"...... Thanks!

@@tmaddrummer Only you can determine what cymbal is right for you. It's a personal preference.

@@mattperko2425 absolutely! It's not an easy thing trying to find the right cymbal sound I'm always looking for, and it's even harder to try and explain the "sound" I'm looking for because it's a sound that my ears hear, even with my elderly bad hearing. After carefully listening with earbuds to hundreds of cymbal sounds captured on video, I've found that I can more easily categorize what I like and/or dislike simply by cymbal make, series, size, and also importantly their respective gram weight because even the most minute change in gram weight will affect the sound of the cymbal. Thanks for your comment Matt.... Blessings!!!

tmaddrummer Dry them out in person if you can. There’s more to the sound than a video can capture, not to mention the feel

@@mattperko2425 All a part of my point. These cymbals are hard to find in shops. I recently found a used China that I like, and the video sound file was all I had to go by, and fortunately for me, the cymbal sounds great and blends in well with the others. I would much rather play them first, especially when these Agop"s get over $500!

I think this hi-hat sounds really good but is being played on the wrong music for it. I would like to hear it again over a good powerfull hard rock background (Velvet Revolver, Metallica´s Load/Reload era style), just my personal opinion.
Maybe the is some math genius sitting in an art classroom.

Wrong music? Care to explain how could it be wrong to play jazz with a mel lewis cymbal?
