Making a town or civilization restoration as a mission for the next fallout title would be interesting tho . I mean rather than just a base building why not goes for a town building . And like let us re-use the existing building too other than making a new one .

One last thing: If you want an object that matches an existing object (like a parapet piece) but doesn't exist in your building mods you can easily create a duplicate. Go into the console, select an existing object and then type
    spawndupe
When you exit the console, the duplicate will usually appear above the existing object. It will also not be aligned to the 'z' place. As soon as you select it - it will correct itself. NOTE: this usually only corrects the FIRST copy of an object. If you need more hopefully there are other 'originals' you can copy. If not, you'll need to get really good with Place Anywhere's object controls. BTW: It's even sometimes possible to use Place Anywhere's 'Store Object's Position, Rotation and Scale' command on the original piece, and then 'Restore' the copies. This means the copy will be in the exact same place as the original. So, you can just grab one, and then move it. Whew...)

Bethesda aren’t that interested in what people want to do, they took fallout in the direction of what will make more money; which is micro transactions for guff that no one massively cares about, for some reason. But it does make them more money.
There’s no sign of there ever being a a Fallout 5. 76 is the future, and the future sucks big bouncy ball sacks - hard.

    To anyone watching this.
Be VERY careful when using the scrapping mods displayed here.
While it does give you the ability to quote literally scrap anything. You don’t want to.
Scrapping things you wouldn’t otherwise be able to scrap can disable pre-combines.
Pre-combines are one part of Fallout 4's Optimization System. They are designed to keep 3D object counts as low as possible by combining multiple objects together into one 3D object.
Disabling them by scrapping things can drastically reduce performance, causing stuttering, large drops in frame rate, and CTD’s (Crashes).
As such it’s not really a good idea to scrap everything in settlements and completely remake them like the guy in the video is (even on PC but especially on console)

Even further away there is a single father with his children. And there is no way am I gonna do business with Children of Atom nutcases living in Glowing Sea because my couriers and postmen did not sign up for suicide missions!"

When I rebuild the castle I use the terraformer blocks in Sim Settlements to fill in the collapsed walls with a nice mud or gravel texture, and then line them with the covenant concrete walls from Homemaker. Gives me a realistic look for a feasible rebuild, because theres no way in hell you are restoring those original granite bricks to pre-war condition. It makes more sense to me to use the materials on hand to reinforce the gaps in the wall. I even add a gate or two with guard posts.

Good tutorial for new Snappy Housekit users. As an experienced builder with Snappy Housekit & other similar mods, I'd like to point out that sometimes you can get stuff to snap into the proper place by using some outside the box tactics, like the wall that wouldn't snap in the one room you were working on at 10:45, but it would snap the other direction, I found that just by snapping it in facing the other direction, it would usually become possible to just snap an additional piece in at the right spot, then just store the one that was in the wrong spot.
Also, the janky office chairs in the Jamaica Plain town hall can be disabled via console, or in some cases, I used console commands to right & move them into place (I use console commands in lieu of Place Everywhere). I do try to keep pre-existing terminals & safes though, so I don't lose any lore (I used console commands to slightly adjust the desk under the terminal in the mayor's office, but kept the terminal & safe in the final product).
One final note, but the wood floors in the Shell Kit part of Snappy housekits have the exact same meshes & textures as the wooden floors in the town hall & a lot of other buildings.

You can delete things that cannot be deleted even with the help of scrap mods via a command, like that chair here: 10:06 , open the command menu (~), type "markfordelete" on the thing you want to delete, then fast travel to any location and return, you will see that it has disappeared. I also remember that I used the “delete” command and it deleted anything immediately without travel, but I don’t remember well. I hope this will help you.

If not aka be "enviromental", it does not work.
Then, you need the Mod to be able to acess the said Libarys IDs as well to do so because the Game doies not recognize it as "valid" aka "beeing an Object rather than an enviromental Piece".
Cells can overlap in this Game - and thus it can be an Item from another Cell preventing you from acessing it without Mods.
And thoose Items - thoose are the ones the "fuck up your Save" when deleted as the Game reads that as "corrupted File" instead of this beeing done intentionally.

Sometimes I wonder... the engine is old, but enables so many interesting features, and they still aren't able to make a similar interesting game.
I mean, they could make a Crossover between Sims and Terraria and the engine would be just fine.

    • @KaneCold
      @KaneCold 9 місяців тому +1

Oblivion was also fun at first, and even for some longer time. But if somebody digs deeper and opens up to you, how much mechanics and actual gameplay is missing, you start to wonder why It's not in there.
Yet, DLCs and especially Mods showed what's actually possible to achieve if you want to.
Skyrim was fun at first, too, but you didn't even need to dig too deep to see how much mechanics got cut off from even oblivion. What they added was rudimentary crafting and a limited perk system carved from their fallout kit. So what, I can use dual wield weapons and even magic. When at the same time there are less magic effects than before, and you can't even combine the basic magics into a higher tiered one.
And then Mods come along and at first didn't really add totally new things but just turned on functions that the engine already had e.g. more parts for customizable armor, like shoulder, hip, back, etc. And you start to wonder why...
While many would not agree with me, because newer engines are a must at some point... the problem is neither the old technic nor basic gameplay loop. It's just that as a company, they do not care about the content of the product. It has to make cash and that's all.

10:37 these "place everywhere" functions sure make building easier and look good, but there will be a huge problem when you have settlers or followers. If a wall is not snapped to the floor and not attached to the ground, NPC will not see it and can get stuck near that wall.
Even worse if you place floors with "place everywhere" as it breaks NPC pathfinding completely

Sorry - me again. At 13:00 minutes in you try to remove a couch that has a highlight. It's almost always possible to remove highlighted objects using the console. (And sometimes objects that don't highlight.) Go into the console and select the object. You should get an ID code. Then enter:
    modpos z 50
This should move the object up 50 pips. If it does not then do:
    modpos z -50
This puts whatever you actually selected back. Try selecting around the area (you might even need to turn off console, move, and turn console back on) until the ID code changes. Then try the modpos z 50 command again.
When the object that you want to remove actually moves do the following:
    disable; markfordelete
This will cause the item to disappear and eventually be deleted. (Timing is ambiguous. I usually do a bunch and then exit game and restart.)
And just like scrapping you need to be VERY CAREFUL and PATIENT when using or you could remove something really important. (Obviously, you should be saving before doing anything dangerous...)

You used to never be able to use the Scar mods and the Place Anywhere mods together, but it looks like they have fixed that. I typically do not need it most of the time, but there are a few locations where it would make things much easier. I like Creative Clutter too. I should see if they have updated that too. I never checked for updates on my last playthrough. I have never used a mod to build outside the settlement areas, mostly because there are so many settlement areas already to work in. That sideways chair you might be able to go out of the build screen and pick it up and move it outside your project. Yep you are screwed with the couch for sure. I have not run across this problem at the normal settlements. The whiter area on the brick should have shown up as a decal in the scrap tools.

If they did that and the code for the buildings still exist, either in game or at Bethesda, then you could replace the entire buildings with their original pre war forms without having to piecemeal it together.
