    Thanks Mark for the review of this product. My old aeropress is starting to show its age and may need replacement. I am contemplating another aeropress or this wacaco pipamoka. After seeing your video, I think I might give it a try.

      I would get a new Aeropress and the new Cuppamoka for sure! That way you have an immersion brewer and a pour over option!

    Been wondering how the new Wacaco performed, totally would bring that as a "luxury item" for a trip. Loved the Tahoe Rim Trail series, even though it didn't end like you expected. Hang in there, here's to 2021 for better hiking/backpacking. Cheers!

    Hi Mark! Congrats on new coffee stuff ) I have nanopresso and pipamoka and consider to buy new Cuppamoka from Wacaco. I found that you at the start of video just closed lid of pipamoka without twisting , but there is some threads on cap and mug . On my pipamoka I cannot just pop cap on and off easily as you. One problem of pipamoka I dont like is very tight cap, but anything aside it is a great product nonetheless .

    • @SpiguyverBackpacking1
      @SpiguyverBackpacking1  3 роки тому

      Yeah, I can go tighter when I twist it on for sure. I am getting the Cuppamoka as well and will be doing a video on that. I have really been enjoying the Pipamoka, pretty much every day!

    Nice review, I bought this on the back of your vid, though I always seem to have an inch or so water in the funnel which I can never filter no matter how slow or fast I twist?

    What’s the weight on that? Looks like great coffee and very convenient, but looks heavy for backpacking! I can’t stand instant coffee, so I had given up on trail coffee and switched to tea for backpacking. Then I found Kuju! Their mini pour-over is easy to use, and it’s actually good coffee! It’s just a little expensive. Now I’m looking into the ultra-light pour-over options. And I have a few more Kuju packets to use on my next trip.

    • @SpiguyverBackpacking1
      @SpiguyverBackpacking1  3 роки тому +2

      Yeah, it's probably right around a pound. What you're looking for is the GSI pour over! I have some videos on that one too!

      @JeremiahBlasi 3 роки тому

      @@SpiguyverBackpacking1 I was looking at that after realizing that’s exactly what Kuju is! Lol. I’ll find your vid on it and take a look.

    Can you add coffee, hot water, and cream then grind it all, 3hrs later you drink it?
    [What's the point in making it right away? I may as well use an electric percolator then.]

    One thing I don’t like about an Aeropress is the lack of insulation. I camp with my son’s Scout troop year around and it’s hard to get a cup brewed with an Aeropress and it not be cold when you’re done brewing if it’s cold out. This looks like it would keep your coffee hot during the brewing process.

    • @SpiguyverBackpacking1
      @SpiguyverBackpacking1  3 роки тому

      It does for sure! I brewed a cup this morning before heading out with my son, 2 hours later it was still HOT!

  • @jap33jpd

    Agree! The coffee produce is actually better than most commercial even instant coffees in the market. My Pipamoka is almost a year now and tell you what, it still durable and consistently delivers a very nice cup of joe according to my preference. You just need your preferred beans and you are good to go!

    If I were more of a coffee drinker this is totes the type of kit that I would be investing in. Great review/intro. Hmmm…I wonder if that would be a good tool for brewing loose leaf tea. It seems to have the right proportions for the gong fu style I prefer.

    • @SpiguyverBackpacking1

    • @SpiguyverBackpacking1
      @SpiguyverBackpacking1  3 роки тому +2

      I have not used this one on the trail yet. But it depends on where I am, high traffic areas I will normally pack it out. More remote areas I’ll normally spread or bury. It is actually a really good fertilizer.
