44:24 I don't think he was grinning because he thought it had been the right thing to do so much as he was proud that his adopted son had gotten the better of him.
He literally trolled him...
@@paulhewes7333and Yondu couldn’t be prouder
He had the same grin when he was about to have to kill Quill based on Ravager principles but Quill found a way out of it so he didn’t have to.
Yeah it was definitely a proud dad moment and nothing to do with the right thing. Yondu taught quill everything he knows about thieving and scamming ,he was smiling cause he was very proud of how quill was able to trick him.
Some sad news, according to James Gunn, the director, "Baby Groot" is not the same being as the adult Groot. When asked, Gunn confirmed that Groot did in fact die. Baby Groot is a new character we get to see grow up.
Honestly I’m more than ok with that. I mean I loved Groot but this preserves his memory well enough while bringing in a fresh new character that can be popular with the kids as well. 😄
@@dylancole1910 hes big asf now😂
@@Wolfhunter5607 in the comics new groot hoppped on gear
Gunn said baby Groot is original Groot’s son.
I'm fine with that. Emme used the word 'propagate" which makes sense in context of a plant. I've always thought of the Groots in terms of an earth Banyon tree: different trunks, but an interconnectivity. Baby Groot may have received more than just genetics, perhaps a species memory or a partial parent memory. Parent Groot died, but is not entirely gone.
It wasn't that Carina was drawn to the stone as much as she knew it was powerful and thought she could free herself
Tbf, she did anyway. Being dead means not being a slave anymore
@@Heroo01 I suppose that is one way to look at it
I also noticed that The Collector tries to warn her before touching the stone, even if he treats her as a slave, he still cares for her.
@@ricardoortiz4870 Pretty sure it's cause he knew it would blow up the facility and ruin his collection

During the space race, the Soviets sent some dogs into space, which is what the dog in the space suit was a reference to.
The duck was Howard the Duck, one of the first Marvel movies, from the 80s, and very odd.
The first dog was Laika. May she rest in peace.
i seen the howard the duck movie as a kid, never knew he was a marvel character till i was an adult lol not till this movie came out in fact. the HTD movie i thought was pretty good, better then some modern movies for sure like black widow for example lol
The dog is named Cosmo, the Spacedog. He is an established character in the Marvel comics. In the comics, at least, his origin story does begin with being a part of the Soviet space program. I don't know the details. In the comics he has also been a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy at least some of the time. It will be interesting to see if he ever joins the group in the MCU.
He is a master of quackfu
@@CrashCraftLabs Black Widow was fine. Your take is delusional.
The scene with Peter dropping the orb was a blooper but they decided to keep it in
This was actually the second time we see Thanos at this point. The first was in the post-credit scene of The Avengers. He was the one who sent Loki and the Chitauri to Earth...
The end scene where Peter catches power Stone with his bare hands is still one of my favorite MCU scenes and I will never get bored of watching it
The relationship between Rocket and Groot makes me think of Han Solo and Chewbacca
Guardians of the galaxy one of the best MCU movie
30:21 "Oh my God, these guys are GOOFY!" That's one of the reasons I love this film 😝 I think, if _I _was ever a superhero, I'd probably be just as absurd as they are!
Howard the duck was the first Marvel movie so it was a big surprise seeing him at the end
The first appearance of thanos was in the avengers, he sent loki with the scepter so that he could take the tresseract, the guy that ronan killed by turning his head had a scene in which he was talking with loki and thanos appeared there in that scene but in the turned chair listening and his face appears in the first scene after credits.
Mmhmm i think many people forget about that short shot of him. But it really does set him up to be a huge overarching character considering its at the end of..well THE AVENGERS, which was a huge deal. Just he didn't speak, don't even think Josh Brolin was cast yet as him.
@@CrazeeAdam Josh Brolin was born to play Thanos.
Michael Rooker(Yondu) has been in many projects. He has also trained fellow actors in firearms use.
He should have trained Alec Baldwin
@@MattPerk7 Alec Baldwin should stay away from guns
He's underrated IMO.
Cliff hanger. Awesome!
He's Mearl from the Walking Dead.
Emme's "me, as a student teacher..." in response to Sean Gunn killed me.
Star lord is very underrated, he very strong and smart, but people underestimate him
Peter Quill's mother called him Star Lord, and he persistently calls himself that, trying to get others to use it.
She knows, she got to the end.
He is part Celestrial, the creators of the Marvel universe. The writers are the real Gods though. The nothing place is a Celestrial hard, the yellow liquid is spinal fluid. Not to spoil too much but Peter meets a Celestrial in the future.
45:33 In case you’re still wondering, that’s Howard the Duck. He’s was the very first marvel comics character to have a movie back in 86. It was one of those so bad that it’s so good type flicks.
The movie bombed so hard that Lucasfilm needed to sell off its computer animation department to cover its debts. John Lassetter bought it and started a small studio called Pixar.
@@pigs18 So it would seem that that unfortunate event created this better than expected timeline.
The actual title of the "do you like pina coladas" is "Escape", and that's what they are doing when it plays.
Rocket crying for groot hits different now after part 3
Yes, it does. Rocket has had a hard life.
Emme's necklace reminds me of "Room 222," a TV series I liked from the '70s set in a High School.
With "Bernie" and his 'fro. (yeah, I'm old!)
23:35 I don't think the stone "drew her to it" so much as she decided death was preferable to continued slavery.
or she didnt know what it did but knew it was some powerful tool, wanted to steal it and use it maybe
She didn't know it's power would be too much for her to handle ad kill her, so she didn't decide on death. She saw an opportunity to have a weapon to destroy him and free her and her siblings. She just underestimated the power. Which was a way to show us what could later happen to Peter and the others.
@@Logan_Baron yeah it was definitely, on the cinematic side, a way to show the audience what happens when a regular folk holds it
The duck in the post credit scene is, Howard the Duck. He actually has his own movie. Definitely worth watching. Also fun tidbit, Nathan Filion is in the movie as well.and if you are a Doctor Who fan, the robot sister is Amelia Pond
While I love the Howard the duck movie, it's not the same howard.
@@wolf9walker it's.......uhhh
@@wolf9walker it’s actually the same in the sense that’s it’s the same character
They made this scene to commemorate the original creator of Howard, who had passed away.
I love my mother very much and the opening scene got me crying. I didn't think that would happen so soon. Other than that, I barely knew about the Guardians until this and that one episode of that Avengers show awhile back. Such a cool team.
Plus I have the whole awesome mix on my iTunes. Can't beat the classics
Glad they threw in Howard The Duck at the end, he is kinda forgotten these days.
The soundtracks to the guardians movies are top tier
Holds up especially with the third
The dog is Cosmo the Russian space dog. She was lost in space and became telepathic and psychokinetic. And she is a good girl.
So that dog in a spacesuit is Cosmo he is a male in the comics and in the guardian's video game but for the movies it appears they swapped genders either way Cosmo is awesome also has psychic powers....
Umm, actually, the dog's space suit reads CCCP (Russian for USSR) so she's a cosmonaut, not an astronaut.
if you've ever seen the Walking Dead Yondu is Darryl's brother Merle.
33:37 Wait till she sees the Holiday Special...
The dog in a space suit is a reference to Laika, and it's a she not a he. The first ever living thing to orbit the earth was a dog named Laika who was sent in to space by the Russians in 1957, four years before they sent the first human. That's why it's says CCCP on it's space suit, which is the abbriviation of Russian 'Союз Советских Социалистических Республик' or in English 'Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.' I named my dog after her, she was after all one of the most famous dogs in human history. A dog everyone should know.
Howard the Duck at the end. Another Marvel character with his own movie from the 80’s.
This is not a spoiler, but Thanos commands the alien army that attacked New York. His mouthpiece that Ronan kills in this movie was talking to Loki throughout the Avengers
Guardians of the galaxy is one of the most funny movie in MCU 😂😂😂
Love this movie so much ❤️❤️❤️😊😊😊
The duck drinking at the end is Howard the Duck, they made a movie in the 80s with Howard the Duck that didn't really get very good reviews but it's kind of a cult classic.
The dog's name is Cosmo and the Duck is Howard the Duck.
*After the third and fourth ‘I love Groot’
“Oh nooo”
'Looking forward to when you get 'round to reacting to GALAXY QUEST. That'll be fun -
Ronan is from an aggressive empire race called the Kree. they're blue.
Yondu also played Daryl's brother, Merle, in the walking dead. He was also in Mallrats.
Just wait until you watch GOTG 2.
The last scene had a cameo from Howard the Duck. He starred in the 1st Marvel film Howard the Duck in the 80's.
Thanos was in the 1st Avengers movie. So, we already have the crossover.
Howard the Duck. Awesome.
45:33 That's Howard the Duck. He actually had one of the first Marvel movies from the 80s.
It sucked balls...
"The Dark Aster? That doesn't sound fun" 😁
Rocket is one of the most tragic characters in the MCU. He is as smart as iron Man also he is not a raccoon not even a alien raccoon and groot died that was his son.
Rocket IS a raccoon, just scientifically altered.
In the comics rocket is a raccoon but in the MCU James Gunn said he is not a raccoon
@@nvp8191 There's nothing in the films (through Phase 3) that says he's anything other than a raccoon. Anything else is irrelevant, as artworks must stand on their own.
James Gunn is the one that said that he is not a raccoon. In the comic books he is a raccoon but in the MCU he is not.
@@nvp8191 aged like milk
Don't ask Amelia Bedelia to prune the hedges.
Watch no2 to answer some of your questions about Peters parents
She's watching them all in release order man, she'll get there
The last character that you saw at the end of the credits was Howard the duck, if not mentioned
Yondu (Mohawk) if you watched The Walking Dead he was Merle (Daryl's brother) he has been in many movies Michael Rooker.
I don't know the meaning of your "222" necklace, but you did mention that you are a teacher...So, have you ever heard of the show "Room 222"? It was a late 60's /early 70's TV show about teachers at a public school (one of legendary writer/producer/director James L. Brooks' early creations): ua-cam.com/video/-MLkofLSYZs/v-deo.html
One of the greatest franchise of all time
The dog is Cosmo, they were the first cosmonaut the Soviet Union sent into space
20:27 Don't think what flowers are to plants, don't think what flowers are to plants, don't think what flowers are to plants...
Thanos is not a god. He's known as the Mad Titan.
9:12 "She must've eaten too much asparagus."

That last post credits scene is all Marvel deep cuts: Astro and Howard the Duck. The former you will meet again if you keep going on this Marvel journey. The latter too, but there is also a movie based on Howard that was done by none other than George Lucas. It's legendary for how awful it was.
Yondu, the blue guy with the metal mohawk, also played Merle Dixon in the Walking Dead, Daryl's older brother, that may be where you know him from.
2nd post credit scene features Howard The Duck, which is a character that had his own live-action movie in 1980's. This is a fun and funny way to tie everything back into the MCU.
This is my first time watching this site. I like what I see. I will be sticking around for a while. Good job Emme!
Emme, I'm soooooo disappointed. That's John C Reilly. Step-Brothers, Anchorman, Talladega Nights, Walk Hard: Dewey Cox, Chicago, Boogie Nights, the voice of Wreck-It Ralph, Gangs of New York.....
21:47 *Man does this hit som much harder now.*
🦝😢
7:00 Oh, it's nothing. He's just literally bathing in Xandarian blood-- the blood of his enemies.
It's horrifying how many things you know only from TikTok 🙂
Fun fact the first guy Groot and rocket take on in the kiln is played by Nathan Fillion.
I stumbled across your channel yesterday. I've been watching all of your MCU reactions. I'm looking forward to the future ones .
I had forgotten that 1st scene and it really triggered me this time.
"Carina, what the Frick dude?....Carina, let go 💁♀️"
As Carina is being shredded and burned apart from the inside from the Inifinty Stone 🤣
Michael Rooker (Yondu) was also in movies like 'Days of Thunder" with Tom Cruise, Mallrats, JFK, Eight Men Out, and many others.
also merle from the walking dead
The guy at the very very end was Howard the Duck.
He's technically owned by Marvel, and the movie "Howard the Duck" is really good for an old 80's film.
They threw him in there just as a random funny reference. Kind of like Spider-Ham.
I didnt know anything about these guys when i watched it. Totally surprised me how good and funny this was
The Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy is probably my personal favorite Marvel content! What a awesome fun roller coaster ride! So funny!
This is a real strong one. We are Groot
The Duck like guy at the end is Howard the Duck.
When Peter pulls out the orb and almost drops it, that was Chris Pratt doing that by accident. The director loved the take and kept it in
A couole things "big tattoo guy is named Drax the Destroyer or just Drax. Check out Vol 2 and you will learn all about Peter's father. In the end, Yondu was smiling because he was proud that Peter got one over on him. The Groot in the pot is actually not the Groot we see in this movie. He is considered like a son or offspring. He has his own thoughts and personality. If you keep watching the MCU, you will get to see him grow up.
Lastly check the Guardians Xmas Special for more Kevin Bacon.
Thanks fot the reaction😅. Great job!
Lol. Yep. Bradley Cooper plays a smack talking Raccoon...sorry..not Raccoon and Vin Disel plays a tree. Sounds like a sitcom and it kinda is :) like a lot of sitcoms this movie is about family more than anything.
Oh on Thanos you BRIEFLY see him in the end credits scene of The Avengers. You just don't know it's him yet.
34:16 "Groot, you continue to amaze me. He's my favourite by far."
😬😟
emme over here living on the dark side of the moon for the past decade
The post-credit included Howard the Duck, which was the very first film of the MCU back in '86, and that's a hill I'm willing to die upon.
Thanos is not a god.
He is called "The Mad Titan".
I can't believe they still haven't fixed the subtitles for this movie yet XD Drax's wife's name is Hovat, NOT Ovette. While very similar indeed, they just never seem to want to fix this ONE movie XD
Before this, the Guardians of the Galaxy was a very very not as well known thing. I knew OF them in certain regards... but I had never read any of their comics. I have to get back into reading the comics. It's been far too long
Also Howard the Duck is the 🐐
Watch the Guardians Christmas special.
28:20 yeah, people are just very hungry for power..........
Something that makes me sad is that Groot didn't regenerate the new Groot is his son
We do NOT discuss Kevin Bacon!
Nothing comes close to Groot, except for one thing...the music!!
Yondu (The blue guy) Michael Rooker is Daryl's brother from The Walking Dead. He's also been in a lot of other stuff.
watching this makes more excited for the vol. 3 reaction
Who is his father? Darth Vader of course.
The baby Groot dancing plant is up in Amazon to buy.
You should watch the The Guardians of the Galaxy : Holiday Special episode where they go to actually kidnap Kevin Bacon :)
I did my reaction is up here!
@@emme Oh cheers! :)
Rocket suffers from a form of Frankenstein syndrome. A created being that hates himself as he does not feel he is a real person. This is also why Rocket hates attachment to others and feels no responsibility to others. But in truth he does. Rocket Raccoon has been one of my top characters.
My mom passed from cancer the summer before this movie came out. Tha opening destroyed me. Amazing movie though. Guardians 2 is great as well.
Every time you said I love Groot, my eyes got misty.
As soon as I’d heard Redbone’s come and get your love, I knew I’d ❤ this film, and I certainly do 🎉. My favorite line: “I have to be honest w u; I totally forgot u was here” 😅 Vol 2 is just as good too
Make sure to watch the third one
I forgot I seen your video
I can assure you of ONE THING: Peter's father is NOT Darth Vader! I have spoken.
