All of the thanks I have for the week are going to you...lol Seriously been trying to find a lesson for this for yrs. I could’ve looked up the tabs, but I forgot how much I wanted to learn this song until I stumbled into this video today. Again, thank you.
The Eagles had to have the most meticulous songwriting next to The Beatles. This is so close to perfect in writing, arranging, and performing, it's no surprise they sold so many records. The general public may not know music theory but most have a sense of what sounds right. Well....back then anyways LoL What passes as popular today pales in comparison imo
I think it's important to mention that Timothy Schmit (Eagles bass player, formerly with Poco: Timothy wrote Keep On Tryin') had much of this song written when he first joined the Eagles. Glenn and Don liked it, and the 3 finished it together. I think Glenn added the counterpoint. I Can't Tell You Why was Timothy's first Eagles hit that he wrote and sang lead. ❤
Nice easy- on the ears and ....... ~Brain~! Many so-called instructors over-teach! They complicate and make cloudy, an already cloudy enough thing we call ................ ~m-u-s-i-c~ .................... Keep up the good and clear work~!~
Jon just want to say thank you for all you do man. You do an awesome job! Also love that you teach Eagles stuff can't go wrong with that. Thanks again cheers!
Thank you Jon!! for years I was missing that elusive F# sus chord that adds a lot of texture and embellish the song... I was wrongly using F#m instead but I knew was not the proper one...thank you again for this clarification. Regards from Mexico..
There ya go Wayne! You got it.. I'm Working on that video right now, I'll have it out next week. TAB is already up in the VAULT Glad to help my friend!
Great instruction. If you put the capo on the 2nd fret, you get a lot of chord shapes that are far simpler, such as Am, Cmaj7, Fmaj7, A/G, Em7, E7sus4 and E7. That' will put you in tune with the Eagles' version and it sounds amazing with no barre chords. Keep up the fantastic work. I'm a new subscriber👍
Awesome! Thanks for being on the email list. Yes I send out free samples and bonus gifts all the time there that aren't on youtube. If you want ALL the tabs I have for the channel those you can get here: bit.ly/2XoPV74 Hope that helps!
It would be cool if you titled this for "Created for the bedroom guitar player who will never need to know how to play this with others". This is not even close to what one would play in a band situation. Good tutorial of a made up version though.
Hey Ozman I'm sorry about that. Often times they go to the spam folder if you have never received an email from me before. Check there. If not send me an email at admin@jonmaclennan.com and I'll send the free tab sample pack over to you. Just put TABS in the subject. :)

The F7sus4 to the F7 is a smooth transition. Hearing it on the clean guitar really exposes how hauntingly beautiful it is.
My favorite Eagles song
Best Eagles tune right here.
Great lesson. All anyone else teaches is the solo. 🎸

Well done indeed. You have the double-stop in the first phrase which most miss, but missed the immediately following double-stop. Thanks for posting.

I've never been an "eagles fan" but you've got to admit, they sure wrote more than their fair share of songs you just will never forget.

Hi Jon! Beautiful Tele you have sir! Details on it please? Thanks for the lesson Jon, very nice and well instructed. Cheers from Michigan.
After watching this video it looks like you could play the rhythm part much easier with simple chords by using a capo on the second fret.
Que bacan! Dude😊
Could you breakdown Is This Love by Whitesnake
Love that bridge setup on this guitar, where did you get it ?
Man, I’m just not there yet!!! 😩
I admit, I only clicked because of the '62 Tele. Lovely.

Hi Jon. Is that a Blacktop double humbucker in the picture behind you?
Bonjour pourriez vous expliquer la rythmique plus en détail svp (en français please don’t you?😊
What is your signal chain please??
I'm using an acoustic guitar, your ben don B-10th fret lands on my B-12th fret. Why is that?
What key is this in to improv?
Wouldn’t it be easier to capo on 2nd fret? Open chords 🤷🏼♂️
Still could do the solo.
Sin Palabras
What is the tuning of the guitar?
Standard tuning...EADGBE
