I buy afghans and frog them, then reuse the yarn to make hats for the homeless. They routinely throw my work away after winter is done, so at least I haven't spent a fortune on new yarn to be throw away! It's amazing how many hats can be made from an afghan!
I think I would have to buy those and donate them to shelters. Cheaper and less expensive than me buying the yarn and spending hours making them but the end result would be the same. And they wouldn't waste away in a thrift store. Thanks for sharing! ♥🇺🇸🦄🧚
Great finds Glenda and Lori! I hope they get snatched up and donated to a senior home to be used as lapgans or shawls. That was hard to see, all those beautiful works of art being tossed around in a thrift store. I hope you had a good time. 😊
I have a book from the Prayer Shawls . Some very nice patterns. Your sister seems like a very sweet person. I have tons of crocheted things. I retired 2013, moved in with my son. Needed something to keep me from going nuts, so I started crocheting. I knew the basics, but never made anything much. I have tons of blankets I made for people. My son was supposed to mail ,BUT ,thay keep stacking up.❤❤❤
So sad to see such beautiful handmade for such pitiful prices. I would give them away first to someone who would love and cuddle them. I do like your thrift store finds. You are bringing back the love, beauty and inspiration to the joy of handmade goods ❤
I believe I’d have to get them . Someone put a lot of time, money, and love in those. If only people knew how much love went into it them. Someone I’m sure will love them.
Hi Glenda and Laurie. Last time I went to the thrift store, I bought 5 beautiful baby blankets 3.99/2.99 each. All were in the same pattern but different colors. There were more blankets , but I had to slap myself to stop me from buying more. I have no use for them, but my heart couldn't stand seeing them discarded like that. I might donate them to the animal shelter, like another person suggested.
It's sad that people get rid of these handmade treasures, I understand that sometimes circumstances lead them to do this though. They're all so pretty, I hope that a good person will take them home.
All that work, plus the cost of all the yarn, yet they sell them for next to nothing. I'm in England, and just finished a large blanket that cost me around £28 to make. But then, I enjoy making them.
Hi Ladies, Thank you for sharing your beautiful finds. It’s beautiful that there are people who are so giving. Take care and stay safe and well. God bless you all always 🙏🏼🧶💗🦋😻
Such pretty blankets and shawls!! All that work and being sold for such inexpensive prices. I hope that the people who buy them know how much work went into each one. ❤
It is a shame. Like you said, that doesn't even cover the cost of the yarn. 🤷🏼♀️ It makes me wonder if someone crochets the blankets and donates them to the thrift stores so someone can have a nice blanket at a price they can afford. Thank you for sharing with us. Nice to see Laurie again 😊 So many times I wish I had a sister 🤷🏼♀️ Have a beautiful day 🤗💖
Think that someone or several people have made these to be donated to raise funds in the thrift shop. Yet at these prices they could have donated the money and had spare to buy yarn for themselves
Thank you for sharing crocheting and your sister with us. ❤ My favorite is the green prayer shawl. I love the pattern, the color, and the prayers. The one throw that was made with like shell stitch in a square type pattern is called a pandemic throw or blanket.
Sorta sad to see these hand made, hard worked on items in the thrift store!!!! Yes, someone will get a chance to buy and enjoy them but nobody loved them enough to keep them. Makes you think though as to why they ended up in the thrift store...........
Hi Glenda & Lori, thanks for taking me thrifting with you. It’s so sad seeing all that work go for pennies. I gift my crochet blankets to siblings, nieces, nephews and my best friend in the world bcuz they love n cherish them. I also ask if they want them and what pattern they prefer, if they’re iffy abt it, they get nothing. Even if the yarn was $2, we still can’t make anything w/one skein.
i have donated several blankets and amigurumi toys I have crocheted to our local Salvation Army and hope that someone comes along who appreciates the work and enjoys my projects.
The yarn alone would have cost so much more. Its a great opportunity for someone on a low income to grab a great bargain! My local charity shop was selling crochet blankets for 50c!
Oh Glenda I love the 2nd blanket but saying that each blanket was a bargain I loved them all, thank you and Lori for sharing your time with us and please say Hi to your Mam for me I hope she is feeling much better now, take care and stay well.
I used to specifically make blankets to give to thrift stores…for people who can’t afford to buy one made. Then I found out a women was buying them up as fast as I could donate them. She would unravel them and used the yarn to make things to sell for crazy prices on marketplace. We live in a tourist area and she made great sales. To make it worse, she would charge full price for the yarns she used, plus her time. Infuriating! Sadly, that ended my donations.
Hello , Glenda and Laurie . Such Beautiful pieces of art . I got my first drop off Kitty this year . A Calico , looks to be about 4 to 6 weeks old . Got her Yesterday from on top of a car engine . Love and Hugs to both .
What a bounty you came across today! I see them as a beautiful blessing to someone with limited resources! You and your Sis are so much fun. “You’ll never crochet anything.” 😂😂😂
All of them are beautiful. My local food bank would have loved to have them to hand out at the church. Thanks for sharing them. It did upset me knowing they were so cheap when there are ways to hand them out. Hugs 😇😊
The yarn costs more than they are asking for the finished blanket. I'm working on a throw blanket and the chunky yarn I bought was about $8 for each ball and I needed 6 balls. Some of those show a great deal of skill ... Loads more skill than I have 😂. But, crochet is just so relaxing after a day at work.
Good afternoon Glenda how are you and your sister Lori! Really beautiful granny square blanket at an amazingly inexpensive price! It could be a car seat blanket? The real tiny blanket could have been a car seat blanket! Cuz a lot of people don't use blankets anymore babies are over a year old. Happy birthday and I hope you both have a wonderful weekend Glenda and Laurie!!
This is also a great way to get cheap yarn! I looked at yarn in my nearest thrift shop and it was ridiculously expensive. So I was thinking of unraveling items but sadly they had no crocheted blankets or proper yarn blankets. I'll keep looking!
Hi Glenda, I enjoy watching you and your sister together .I can tell that the 2 of you are very close and I love watching when your Mom is on with her diamond painting .Om just getting started with it and I would love to see her pictures .Do you think that you could show us what she has already done and what she is working on now . Thank You Glenda
Hi Glenda and Lori thank you for showing me all those beautiful Afghan wow the price is very good Glenda you need to sit down with Lori again and give her a lesson to your single crochet chain two single crochet stitch I bet you could do it Lori please try. Please showing us the results I have faith in you Lori even if it's a small little blanket for your cats you are learning. .It is relaxing for me . Beware make sure you do it in a area where there's no cats because my one cat loves my yarn. He pull it out of my bag when I am not looking. Ha Ha!!
The chunky pink one is not safe for babies, nor is the lace one. I'd call it a lap blanket. Loose blankets with holes are deemed unsafe to infants and newborns! They can get broken fingers and all that. The hospital I worked at always had to toss blankets donated for babies that were like that or donate them elsewhere.
Hi GLENDA I would like to know where I could get the the wool for making scrubbies thankyou very much for the information have a nice day god bless you 😊🙏
It makes me sad to see all someone’s hard work and love going for a pittance in a thrift store!!!!
I agree, they have no idea the value of our time and the cost of the yarn
Sad to see our hard work wind up in the thrift store. But I love seeing you and your sister together.
I would have been thrilled 😭😭 as a single sahm i would love and appreciate anyone who dropped anything of this quality at a thrift😭
Nice works of art! Have a great afternoon ladies! ❤️🤗
Beautiful and heartbreaking.
A lot of times, the sweet souls that created these beautiful works of art have passed on and the family members may not appreciate them
I buy afghans and frog them, then reuse the yarn to make hats for the homeless. They routinely throw my work away after winter is done, so at least I haven't spent a fortune on new yarn to be throw away!
It's amazing how many hats can be made from an afghan!
that's a wonderful idea. thank you for sharing your idea
Beautiful blankets, sad no one appreciates them
I would buy them and give them to nursinghomes, shelters, homeless
I think I would have to buy those and donate them to shelters. Cheaper and less expensive than me buying the yarn and spending hours making them but the end result would be the same. And they wouldn't waste away in a thrift store. Thanks for sharing! ♥🇺🇸🦄🧚

Hi Glenda and Laurie I just love when you share your crochet finds at thrift stores gives me great ideas keep the videos coming thank you😊
All that work, plus the cost of all the yarn, yet they sell them for next to nothing. I'm in England, and just finished a large blanket that cost me around £28 to make. But then, I enjoy making them.
So sad to see someones hard work discarded! Some people don't have a clue of the time and love a crocheter puts into their work 😢
I agree, they have no idea the value of our time and the cost of the yarn
Hi Ladies,
Thank you for sharing your beautiful finds. It’s beautiful that there are people who are so giving.
Take care and stay safe and well. God bless you all always 🙏🏼🧶💗🦋😻
Love that lacy light blue blanket. I would use it for a cover for my coffee table.
Such pretty blankets and shawls!! All that work and being sold for such inexpensive prices. I hope that the people who buy them know how much work went into each one. ❤
They’re all so well made. I’d buy them for gifts!
Love this video idea! Please do more thrift store finds.

Amazing. How sad. All that work.

Thank you for sharing crocheting and your sister with us. ❤

I really have a great respect for your beatiful and lovely work. It's sad to see this. Greetings from MEXICO
It’s so sad all the hard work and done with love for a tiny new life
I agree, they have no idea the value of our time and the cost of the yarn
Wow, beautiful blankets cheap price.😊
You can prove your sister wrong and crochet a prayer shawl 😅
i have donated several blankets and amigurumi toys I have crocheted to our local Salvation Army and hope that someone comes along who appreciates the work and enjoys my projects.
Very nice blankets. Hopefully someone will buy them then donate them.
Loved seeing all the blankets! Thank you.
It is so sad that someone worked so hard on those blankets and they ended up at a thrift store ❤
Beautiful works of art. Some lucky people are going to enjoy a real bargain. Thanks for sharing.
WOW!! 1.99 for a crochet blanket that big is crazy! please tell me what the name of the thrift store is!! that is crazy!!
I made prayer shawls years ago. And they never went to a thief store. We would give them to someone was sick or who had lost a love one.
Great prices at that store !
The crazy b!anet & the ripple blanket are my Favorites And the prices are absolutely amazing could never get blankets that cheap here in Nevada.
The yarn alone would have cost so much more. Its a great opportunity for someone on a low income to grab a great bargain! My local charity shop was selling crochet blankets for 50c!
Love these "fishing" trips! Oh heck, I love all fishing and trips too, for that matter!!! Thanks girls! 😊❤
Beautiful blankets. Love the lacey blue blanket and prayer shawl too. Thanks for sharing Glenda and Laurie
Oh Glenda I love the 2nd blanket but saying that each blanket was a bargain I loved them all, thank you and Lori for sharing your time with us and please say Hi to your Mam for me I hope she is feeling much better now, take care and stay well.
Wow. All these crochet blankets are nice. I can’t believe the price. Someone is getting a amazing deal. I do enjoy seeing the mix of colors.
Loved this vid. I also check out the blankets at garage sales
Thanks for taking us along.

I never think to check out the thrift shops! Thanks for sharing your finds and your sister 😊❤
If only I have the yarns like you have. I will be happy in my crochet process.
I loved all the blankets but particularly the last green prayer shawl. Very pretty stitch.
Hi Glenda and Laurie Beautiful crochet patterns! Thanks for sharing. I enjoy watching both of you, you both make my dayTake care!😊

Good afternoon Glenda how are you and your sister Lori! Really beautiful granny square blanket at an amazingly inexpensive price! It could be a car seat blanket? Beautiful fall color ripple blanket
I love all the crochet items🥰
Sisters, lol. She might make something in crochet! Let her keep her dreams!

Very nice afghans/ blankets. Hi Lori.😊
Hi Glenda love the top that Laurie has on.
Luv them!! Thks
I would move by you just to go to that thrift store! We have nothing like that where I live .
❤ Beautiful blankets 😍
I see a lot of afghans at my thrift store. Some really pretty not even used.
the price was so right with those blankets
Hi Glenda and Lori thank you for showing me all those beautiful Afghan wow the price is very good Glenda you need to sit down with Lori again and give her a lesson to your single crochet chain two single crochet stitch I bet you could do it Lori please try. BLUE LACY BE PRETTY FOR BAPTISM EVENT
I recycle patterns and projects I don’t care for and use the yarns to create something new.
Hi GLENDA I would like to know where I could get the the wool for making scrubbies thankyou very much for the information have a nice day god bless you 😊🙏
I love your sister 😂
With the price of yarn going up and hard to find especially here in Canada, since we only have Michaels and Walmart.
I can't believe that there were that many there 😳
I want to go shop there! I can get about sixty hats just out of what she's shown so far!
Beautiful 😊
She should try to crochet to crochet if she wants to. Encourage
What state are you in ? California thrift stores are much higher
Not to change the subject, but what about the pattern and hand dyed yarn giveaway?
Laurie aka Vanna White!
Those blankets are too pretty to be at a thrift store especially so cheap. So much work and the price doesn't cover the cost of yarn or hard work
I do crochet blankets
