May want to look into the tcp shock tower delete kit. It will give all sorts of room in between the frame rails and will update the front suspension as well.
And a monte carlo bar when you do it because the shock towers are a lot of the front support.

American powertrain makes a tko transmission called the TKX which is really small and holds alot + QuickTime has a bell housing adapting it to the barra. Scotto from hoonigan is putting one in his ae86. Maybe worth checking out
One thing I’d advise looking into the wiper cowl under the dash to see if it’s rusted out. That’s a problem on old mustangs

Nice work, I have just started to install a N/A Barra into my FJ45 Toyota.
Should just get a 6 speed box out of a FG XR6 Turbo. Straight bolt up with plenty of aftermarket clutches to choose from.
Think the first thing to do is get rid of all that surface rust and any major rust issues with the chassis. Seam seal and Repaint the underside. Then get on with the engine swap. Good luck with the project. Love the videos Evan.

Really interested if you are going to turbo this Barra, normally aspirated you can easily tune to over 330 horsepower, which is a great power to weight ratio on a 65 ‘stang, but a turbo will make your day. Great video.

The rocker covers look really sick polished. I sanded mine on my barra and then used some aluminium polish and it comes up like a mirror

I’d look into doing a ifs conversion and deleting the shock towers.
Are both the engine mounts both the same length? Cause you may be able to swap the engine mount and shift the motor over to the exhaust side or get custom one 🤷🏽

Hey man, make sure you reinforce the chassis. I presume you will make great power. Being unibody they will "twist." Torque boxes and subframe connectors solve that problem and are pretty unobtrusive.
You could also go the full frame route like roadstershop chassis

Should of opted for the later series barras out the fg falcon’s, with a plastic intake manifold, you would of had less cutting to do on the strut tower.

You maybe able to move the engine forward - check space between front of engine to where a radiator would be - I’d check if would have some wiggle room on the motor mount mounting before you cut into the firewall - just my 2. Cents

Get valve springs, you 1000% need them, also head studs and a metal gasket if going turbo

You should put a forward facing plenum on it so you don't have to cut the shock tower.
Tight space for sure hopefully the engine torque helps strengthen the front chassis

Get some shock tower deletes. Most likely going to modernize the suspension anyway. Now is the time!
T-56 was in a 03-04 cobra, F-body, GTO etc. the corvette trans is completely different since it’s a transaxle
you should get a front suspension kit that eliminates the strut towers.
You need to get a set of pacemaker 4495 extractors there the best sounding exhaust manifold you can get for it they are more equal length and sound killa🤙🏻
I'm very surprised you didn't put a 347 stroker in it cause you can use fuel injection if needed. But I can also understand the Barra cause the stang is originally a 6 cylinder:)
if its a NA barra motor , i would be fully building it, machining, better pistons, rods , girdle , cams everything will be a 1000hp build with the right turbo,box etcetc, youll be looking at max 350 400hp with FACTORY NA internals............. factory turbo internals can run 600 700hp with minor upgrades. , do your resreach before you mod it... . and cant just slap it together

If you plan on getting a intake manifold, I would get one before you do any fabricating and welding of the shock towers.

Australia, and not the best Barra as it's the silver top. It's fine for NA applications but a shame to go to all this effort and not go turbo with a green or red top barra.

Love your builds but sometimes I see corners being cut. Just my opinion. Like I said, love your builds and channel but a few things are just questionable. Could just be that I’m more ocd or have followed other Barra builds and they have a larger budget. Not hating, just constructive criticism
