Hi Rick. l recently bought a flex 5i and was provided with Base Pen II with the same. However, it doesn't work smoothly like yours does. It stops working and the dot which shows the pen is working disappears. Reappearing only when l press barrel button.Tried with new battery with same resuIt. Have you faced such probs? Any suggestions? Also any idea which tips from Wacom are compatible with it ?
I had the same issue. I recognized that this issue shows up because the spring inside the pen doesnt touch the battery so there is no circuit. I placed a pen spring down to the AAAA battery and it's working really good. :)
The same pen came with my flex 5 but i can nvr find it anywhere not even on the lenovo website I don’t even know it’s name (weirdly I didn’t get instructions guide with my laptop not even laptop instructions) I don’t know what to do if it got lost or broken 💔
@@meh825 I found out it’s name later, it’s called Lenovo digital pen, but there is no pen tips for it but I think the active pen tips will work fine with it, only problem is that it’s always out of stock 🤦🏻♀️
This is all happening because Lenovo is not clear about the pens. The Active Pen and Active Pen 2 are the "Active Pens" which have additional batteries for Bluetooth. The Flex 5 comes with a Lenovo Digital Stylus (is called the Lenovo Base II), while it looks like an Active Pen 2, it is not, and doesn't have bluetooth. here is the link for Base Pen II www.lenovo.com/us/en/accessories-and-monitors/stylus-pens-and-supplies/pens/TAB-ACC-BO-Lenovo-Digital-Pen/p/4X81C66286 here is Active Pen 2: www.lenovo.com/us/en/accessories-and-monitors/stylus-pens-and-supplies/pens/TAB-ACC-BO-Active-Pen2-NA-EMEA,ANZ,AP/p/GX80N07825
so far has been mostly fine apart from a weird boot up bug, but i have a solution for that on my channel Would be prefect for college work with some light esport games
I had to get anew base pen II because the first stopped working. It is different from the active pen, different button shapes and supposedly the active pen II is NOT comparable with this computer. My old one stopped working, and Lenovo sent me a replacement pen but the pressure sensitivity is still not working. While the pen is working better, before it barely wrote at all, I still need the sensitivity for the art. Do you know how I can fix this maybe?
What is the difference between the active pen (first generation) and the digital pen? They are priced the same in my country, but I don’t know which would be better.
No, the vaste majority of the time if I was going to write in a spot that has text It would automatically display the writing box and I could use the pen to write what I want
Hello, I have the same Pen, does the tip goes a bit inside when you start writing? I am not sure if that is a defect in mine or that's how it normally is.
Hi.. What's the main difference between lenovo active pen 2 and precision pen 2... Im sure that precison pen 2 has AES 2.0 support....does active pen 2 has it ?
There is as such no turn off button, what i do is - I unscrew the battery compartment cap until the battery starts moving inside, doing this practically cuts off the circuit.
A unprepared, slow, sloppy review flooded with inaccuracies and misguidance topped with a clear disdain of viewers time and a snobbish attitude. Sorry Rick. Must do better.
all valid points.. i didn't have enough structure of what point of view to take, or what software / applications people would usually use the pen with, thus the rambling of the video and subsequently longer video, rather than being quick and to the point

Not an active pen man. Active pen 2 has bluetooth function and much higher quality tips.
cheers for the clarification
Thank you! couldn't find anything on this pen

A bit off topic here, but you’ve got a really nice casual voice. I’m literally just a straight guy, but something about your voice is nice. 😁
Ha ha, the Aussie accent

Haven't used both to comment on their differences
found this out? what is the difference between this and both the active pens because this one is very cheap in comparison to those two...
We went through a bunch of people to remove the battery cap. I had to use the channelocks to get the battery out.
Do you have to push the button everytime you want to write something?
No, the vaste majority of the time if I was going to write in a spot that has text
It would automatically display the writing box and I could use the pen to write what I want
Welp it doesn't connect with bluetooth for the laptop so guess I'll have to find it myself when I lose it again since I can't add it to Find My 💀
How do I get it to work? It's not a bluetooth pen, so it's not in the bluetooth devices, but I can't seem to get it to do anything with my Flex 5...
Not sure actually
Checked the battery?
Hi Rick. How do you get your hand writing to turn into type writing? When I write, it does not convert :(
No longer have the machine to advise sorry
Hi Rick, does the Pen support handball rejection? The Lenovo Website says it does so.
dont know sorry, no longer have
I wonder how much that pen cost separately. And will it be compatible with other laptop with touchscreen? 🤔
I think the active pen is around 50-100 AUD, it would only fully function on Lenovo touchscreen laptops
