So I purchased your 2.8l turbo kit and I’m a little confused on the turbo oil supply and drain lines because how they hook up in this video is slightly different then how my vehicle looks under the hood. Plus my turbo is just oil cooled and not oil and liquid.
im looking forward to buy one of your turbo kits on your webpage for this 3L engine I would like to know where should I install the water/oil feed and return lines. my 4wd doesn't have heater.
1kz-te engine in my toyota hiace new genuine head sent away injectors to get checked they fitted new nozzles thinking about it now probably should have got genuine ones mechanic seem to think it was ok to service , plus flushed radiators at radiator shop ,did fuel filter ,we do a lot of driving open road stuff do you know if these engines run rich or come pretty good from Toyota ,van is standard.
Could a intercooler with bonnet scoop be added?

Hi, my name is Ricardo and I just got my hands on a Hilux Sr5 2001, looking forward to do this on mine! Some people on 4x4Forums claim that intercooler in a 'must have' item on a diesel engine to control the overheat. Any opinion on that?
In a vacuum that sounds like a load of bullshit but since an intercooler helps you to pack more air into a cylinder, it will only do any good if you lower boost pressure too, else, in my mind, all that cooling contracted air will only come pack to bite during the compression stroke.

Do you guys ever touch the fuel screw? Ive heard that 1/4 of a turn for a turbo is normal, but I think the N/A setting is probably plenty?
Yes you need to adjust the fuel settings as no more fuel no more power BUT that simple adjustment is where all the damage is done when in the wrong hands.

Good day Berrima Diesel, I just recently built a 3L engine from brand new parts. Got my injectors rebuilt and also the diesel pump, all to specs. Truck is running really good but i noticed that it doesnt smoke at all. If I get one of those Turbo kits for it do I need to tune the diesel pump? If so can i do it by myself? There is no Dyno tuning place anywhere near me. Do I have to add more fuel if I wanna run only 8-9psi? Can it cause any damage to the engine if I wont tune it? How can I check the fuel mixture? Also I have watched almost all your videos but I still dont know how you fitting oil feed for the turbo or if you also selling only an oil feed kit I could possibly buy. Your videos are good and show what youve done but not really clear on how its everything done or tuned and there is almost no info. I have so many questions about this topic. Thanks Martin NZ

The finer, important parts like getting the tuning correct is where the age old skill in this job stands out so its no tsomething you can just say 'turn this screw in X amount'. So many other 'on the day' considerations to look at

Hi very interested into what you guys did to lower the compression before the turbo? Thicker head gaskets or decomp pistons?? Or the 2.8 can handle low boost?
You cant really lower compression on much on a diesel as it needs it to ignite the fuel
That's a petrol question. Diesels answer is No.

You're probably thinking about the LxT engines having a lower compression ratio to the naturally aspired L engines, am I right? I've wondered the same thing but I've been assured that you can just drop the boost further than a factory turboed L engine and it should be fine.
2.8s can handle boost mate been on 28-30psi for ages and absolutely no troubles

what is the benefit of doing turbo?, how much gain do you make with that modification and how much torque is added and how much faster is the take off from 0-60kph?

wyatt willis You can put the original exhaust manifold of the toyota 2LT engine that fits smoothly in your 3L engine and the turbine put the CT20 of the toyota itself that the cost will not be as high as importing from Australia.
Yep a Turbo of any type can go on a Diesel
