  • I've replaced my Q7 with a car 18 years older. Am I mad? Here's a comparison, and my first inspection for my Land Cruiser Amazon.

    I bought a 200,000 mile land cruiser to get my son through high school. He drove it all the way through college graduation and sold it after 9 years with 280,000 miles for more than paid for it. No major repairs, replaced a starter, brake pads and tires. Was a great truck.

      Wow that worked out to be a good investment! What state are you in?

    You can go anywhere with this Suv and have zero issues with it.

      The engine has already died and the ahc suspension failed.

    Love it! And you have low mileage. Great for Scotland. Used all around the world. Is this still the same one you were fixing up in previous videos? Most likely vehicle to make over 250 k miles along with sequoia from 2 million cars followed in USA. I’ve got a 1999 Lexus Landcruiser Lx470. 290k miles and still on the original suspension shocks and all and hydraulic system. All original. Just changed alternator after 25 years! Such a reliable vehicle if not ignored. For me still no rust bc taken care of it. We are in Canada and visit Scotland often. Nice to see Land Cruiser getting its love over there too. We also love the tailgate. Use it to change three babies diapers on it. Haha. Mine is gas so around 18-19 mpg on highway. Also original parts very cheap from impex Japan or partsouq in Dubai. Just in case you didn’t know. Enjoy!

      That's so funny we have used the tailgate for baby changing too 😂 I've been using amayama for parts instead of souq. It's working really well. This was the first one I bought with the engine trouble. I have a 2nd one without engine trouble ❤️

    Any Landcruiser is better than any Audi. You're better off in an old FJ40 than in some abandon-ware, glorified VW. A company by the way, that is always up to something.

      I feel like they are cars for a different purpose. The audi is for extracting money from the customer via finance/loans, and the land cruiser is for someone who wants to buy and keep a vehicle. The audi was quieter and plush, but not as luxurious as a range rover. Anyway the land cruiser is the one for me.

    I did the front diff mount like you're discussing. Air chisel and swearing and it's really not the worse thing ever. getting the new one in took longer as I couldn't get it to go in completely. Eventually I put a jack under it and lifted the front wheels off the ground then jumped up and down on the front bumper until it dropped in correctly. I'm still convinced that was easier than replacing the entire front cover.

    • @landcruiserscotland
      @landcruiserscotland  6 місяців тому

      I've done them all now. I did the chisel for one, the press for another, and bought the arm for the third 😂 it's a bit if a mission. I'll put up a video with some tips for others like what you just said with the jack

    To get one of the best Toyota vehicles to replace a Q7 and considering the price differential is fantastic. Even considering it’s 10 or 12 years older, it will undoubtedly well outlast the Audi. You’ll never have the same depth of feeling for an Audi.

    • @landcruiserscotland
      @landcruiserscotland  6 місяців тому

      You're right. There's just no love for the Q7. I like that there is a bit of theatre about driving the Land Cruiser. I've had a lot of people asking me questions in carparks etc. Strangers love a landcrusher.

    I have and Audi myself a Coupe version and thinking of getting Land Cruiser as a next car. So many positive feedbacks from Toyota users its just unreal.

      It's a great car. It's not for everyone since it's thirsty and expensive to maintain but I love it already

      If its a thud while changing gear it's likely the diff bushes. You get pretty bad vibrations when the propshaft is worn out though. Mine was shaking the whole car at 40mph+
