    OMG, both of you are on the same screen! I'm following both of you. What a great surprise, @momentumLAB! I got inspired by both of you and started momentum investing. I even learned Python to build a customized screener and successfully running a Nifty-50 momentum portfolio. Thanks to both of you!!

    what do you think about a combination of ‘midcap 150 momentum 50 and midcap 150 quality 50 as part of one’s mutual fund portfolio. In your Videos there’s ample evidence based on past data to show that momenttum and quality if combined is great strategy. However since we do not have any such MF offering, if i combine these 2 single factor funds how would my portfolio perform.? I mean i am skeptical becuase the quality factor index alone is not able to beat the market based midcap 150 index.

      Hey there , you can backtest combining these two strategies.
      Prima facie they are a good pair because of their low correlation in excess returns over NIFTY.
      My observation is
      1. Momentum / Alpha -- on one side
      2. low Vol / Quality / Value -- on the other side
      Make a great combo

    Hello dear....is it ok to apply trailing stop loss of 15% on stock level, along with Worst held rank , as an exit criteria?

      @MomentumLab_IN  14 днів тому

      Hi Mudit ji,
      By putting SL, you will optimize for Risk : Reward ratio (Sharpe Ratio) & also can limit the Maximum DrawDown but the overall returns will take a beating. You can refer to this research paper for more on this. www.cicfconf.org/sites/default/files/paper_811.pdf

    Dear Shekhar, in the paper you provided, the stop loss is applied at 10% of last month price. But if its a trailing stop loss, and if my stock has already gone up from purchase price to ,lets say 60%, and then I apply 10% stop loss, most of the time, stock still remains in Top 10 ranking, but due to my stop loss, it gets sold, and then i have to purchase the stock which is below in rank, compared to one i sold..what to do

    • @MomentumLab_IN
      @MomentumLab_IN  13 днів тому

      Better to avoid tight stop loss.
      Personally I do not use trailing SL.
      Only if the stock reverses its trend I exit.
      How do I know the change in trend ?
      1) If stock is below 20% from it's ATH ( Nothing to do with our Buy Price here)
      2) If it breaches WRH (Worst Rank Held)
