Let's be honest, we were all robbed of a legendary big man moment.
As a Dolphins fan of 45 years, I agree. Can’t overturn that.

Even though it failed I give massive props to Strange. Caught that lateral on the run spinning in the air and came up literal inches short after plowing through 3 Dolphins
He made the first down
@@bigreeezy It’s definitely close, close enough in my opinion that it should’ve stood as called
HE WASN'T SHORT
@@bigreeezy pause it right at 0:38, left knee is down, ball is short of the first down. Very close, but enough evidence to overturn it.
@@bigreeezy nope half a yard short
Refs would never have overturned that call when Tom was QB
No duh because Brady doesn't put his team in position to make lateral plays like this. Lmao
@justindefav21edits That wasn't a lateral play buddy. Lol what are you on?
@justindefav21editswhich QB was at the helm when it became 34-28 again?
Massive props to Strange. That takes a lot of creativity and dedication to help your team do whatever it takes to win the game. Had he gotten the first down, that would’ve been one of the craziest plays I’d ever seen.
Who else thought Cole got it?
I thought he was short, but I think they should’ve gone with the call on the field. That was not enough to overturn.
@i’m not caucasian, but ima jus go ahead and ratio you right here
@but that was kinda funny ngl
If you just look at the hash marks instead of the orange marker it's clear he's short. The marker is placed on the 29, and even after he extended an extra half after his knee was down he was still clearly short of the 29.
@@nibblerzmeal2546gessicki should’ve been marked down in the first place it should’ve never progressed

@@JackycakesV2we talkin bout this szn buddy
Play should have been called dead before the lateral, dude had the ball for 3 seconds and didnt make any more forward progress.
Refs blew this call. By rule, a defensive player had stopped Gesicki’s forward progress, therefore the play should have been blown dead at that point. The refs are lucky Strange couldn’t keep his feet for another step and had the first down line. The refs aren’t supposed to stand around when a ball carrier is stopped by a defender to see if he’s going to pitch it out. The whole point of the forward progress rule is the play is supposed to be blown when the ball carrier’s progress is stopped.
Collinsworth laughing always kills me 😂
Even with Jakobi Meyers off the team they still get fucked by game-losing laterals
yea
Okay but at least this one actually made sense lol
It should have been a first down… I’m not a pats fan but it should have!
Then the free touchdown should be revolked from the patriots plain and simple
Youve gotta be braindead if you think he wasnt short. There is obvious video evidence.
@@ElectricalCurrent-bz7ou yeah it should have. BUT BIG MAN LATERAL! CMON THINK OF THE MEMES
@@ElectricalCurrent-bz7ouwhat about the illegal motion on the 40 yard TD run?
I don't think so. If u look at the mark on the sideline, then the mark where he landed when his knees were down, it's a little short.
Honestly its probably short but its so close im suprised it was overturned
Now THIS is the best opinion, it isn't that he obviously made it, but was it enough to take back.
Maybe they had the angle or paused it right to make the decision but it was close
@@10thletter40 it really shouldnt of been overturned. not a fan of either teams but rooting for tua and mcdaniels. even the announcers said the play was in open space, there was nothing really to compare it to. visually it looked like he made it, so with no physical reference due to open space, idk how they made the call. maybe there was some angle we didnt get
Thats more on Mac Jones. That throw was low and behind his receiver.
0:38 His knee touched the ground first. I don't know why people are so angry. The ball didn't even pass the orange marker.
I’m a pats fan and it wasn’t even close
That's what I saw, lol.
Why do the Dolphins and Patriots always have the crazy lateral plays when they play each other?
I know the rules are the rules but as a neutral football fan I wish the office would have sent the "just give it to them" signal. That has to be heartbreaking
The Rule is that it has to be 100% certain the ruling on the field was wrong and there is no way this is 100% certain. THis should not have ben reversed according to the rule. I love seeing the Patriots 0-2 but would rather see the Dolphins stop them at the end and not the ref
The only reason it was close is cus the refs kept the patriots in the game and you can clearly see his elbow down before the hash in all the replays they showed it was an easy call
@@kevinmarrero5013 You're wrong because the hahs is NOT the spot. The actual spot is about 5 inches in front of the hash and that's why this play should not be reversed. It's way too close. Just another rf trying to be the star of the game. To reverse a call the rules say it has to be 100% conclusive and this play is not 100% conclusive. I love seeing the Patriots 0-2 but I'd rather see the Dolphins stop the Patriots and not the ref.
Play should have been blown dead before the lateral.
@@bjchit Wrong; he was fighting for yards and lateraled the ball before his momemtum was stopped
Back to back weeks it looked like the Patriots converted the 4th down only to have it overturned in replay. Fucking rough
Game of inches lmao
Pats are no longer the darlings of the NFL its Chiefs time to shine now via script
Belichick throwing that red flag down at the referee's feet angrily had me dying. 😂
Future meme?
Shoulda stuck the ball out. Would have had it.
LMAOOOOO Here are the next games for Pats: Jets, Cowboys, Saints, Raiders, Bills, Dolphins, Commanders, Colts, NYGs, Chargers, Steelers, Chiefs, Broncos, Bills, Jets. These MFs are about to go 2-15 LMAOOOOO
As a rugby fan first and foremost I often wondered why more NFL teams don't try this when the game is on the line.
it has to be like on the last play possible (which they often do it in those situations). the odds that laterals work in NFL for a TD are insanely rare. any other situation and the risk of the immediate turnover far outweighs any benefits it has
They don't practice the rugby tosses as much as other more prevalent game plays. The risk of being tackled while passing is also prevalent which doesn't exist in rugby.
One final point is there aren't the benefit of when the ball touches the ground you form a barricade, bring it back, and continue play. Once you are down you are down
many legal rugby laterals would be called illegal forward passes in the NFL. The ball has to be caught at or behind the point where it's thrown which basically means the player has to be stationary when he throws it.
because these big men arent ball guys, they are tacklers and blockers.
Look at what happened the last time the Patriots tried a game winning lateral move ☠️
I love the fake bandwagon Pats fans in the comments crying because the Patriots long, successful run has come to an end and now they suck. Looks like you guys should be Chiefs or Eagles fans now huh? 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
Yo wtf is Collingsworth doing
Why did Mike G not turn to his left after making the catch, instead of doing the Holey Pokey and turning himself around, so he didn't need to do all of that lol
Of course it goes to the guy that went way too high in the draft and wears 69, script writers thought up some ending for this one
You can use the period and comma on your keyboard with youtube to frame by frame the video, and if you do that real hard you’ll see bro did not get the first down
Gesicki must be kicking himself for not coming back to Miami
SO CLOSE! Good effort by Cole Strange! His run is giving off Dan Connolly vibes!

Yo what the heck is Collingsworth doing?
This is why I’m never paying to go to an NFL game, all that time and money just for a game to be ruled over before it actually is.
As an unbiased fan who doesn’t hold an affiliation with either team, I originally thought Strange got the first down and that we were robbed by incompetent reffing but pausing @1:18 of the video you see his knee is down and that despite having most of his upper body across the line, Strange was cradling the ball low to his body in such a way that the ball was less than a foot or so short from the line to gain. Damn shame.
Additionally, the two line judges are indicating short and a closed fist (usually to indicate fourth down, but this was fourth down). The only official who indicates first is the referee running up from 15 yards behind the play. I know it's ultimately his decision but come on.
Pause at 0:40 gives you a better view of where the ball was relative to the hash mark at the bottom. It looks short then and that’s moments after his knee initially hits which would spot the ball even shorter than that point.
@@rainman11 0:38 shows it better, and it's way short, because his shin goes down.
@@MordechaiHershoffyoutube I know but ppl say its inconclusive because they can’t really tell where the ball is relative to the hash mark at the top. The part where I paused goes to show even if they were to mark the ball where his elbow goes down, it still comes out short of the line to gain with a more clear view of the hash mark at the bottom. So we know for sure he was well short of the line to gain because his knee touches before then.
If the refs are just gonna decide a game is over can they at least end it at 9:30 so we can get to bed on time? Some of us have to work.
I've been a Miami Dolphins fan for 30 years. It always felt like Belichick and the Patriots would always pull a play out of their ass at precisely the right time to screw us over. Watching this play happen in real time brought me PTSD. Thank God he was short, our defense was gassed and I have no doubt the Patriots would have driven down and scored.
its been scripted for the pats for 20 years shits over NFL don't want them to be good till belichick retires
It goes both ways
We always did it to each other lol. We almost always split with them over those 30 years lol.
That was a first down and I’m not a Patriots fan. It’s has to be conclusive to over turn a call and that wasn’t. They got cheated on that one.
Just rename the team to the Miami Myocardial Infarctions lol.
Great game by both teams though.
Dolphins fan here. We definitely stole this one. No way he was short. Epic game. Cant wait for the 2nd match up
Didn't steal anything Dolphins outplayed them the entire game and out gained them by 100 yards. Strange was 100% short of the line when his knee touches down he's a good half yard away from where he needed to be. Not to mention the Patriots were already gifted a TD by the refs on the drive before this one. As on their second TD they have Hunter Henry blocking 5 yards down the field only to then catch the TD pass which is completely illegal as it's offensive pass interference. Also on that same play they have a offensive linemen 5 yards down the field as well which is also completely illegal.
Patriots got negative luck with lateral plays
patriots look like the best 0-2 team i have seen since the 2015 seahawks coming inches twice from a chance at beating imo a super bowl contender dolphin, and the defending champion eagles. tough way to waste 2 home gamess
Your discord server I’m sure is bandwagoning Tua now. 😂
Bum admins/mods banning people cause they get called out. 😂
No fair, they overturned it on the matter of science
Sorry Pats, you deserve this misery. Tua 5-0!!!
But brady was loosing to miami very often.
Why is everyone saying he made it? We all wanted the big man moment (besides dolphins fans) and he clearly had his knee down first with the ball short
he clearly made it.
The thing is even if he didnt get it, its way too close to overturn it thats just an awful call ref needs to be fired
Really wished he got it I was dying of laughter so funny lmao
Inches short is inches short, plain and simple.
Bullshit. There was no clear indisputable evidence of that to overturn the call on the field. I'm no fan of either team, but the field call should have stood here.
NO way at all this should be changed. The rule is it needs to be 100% certain the rule on the field is wrong. THis was way too close to change the call. I HATE the Patriots and love seeing them 0-2, but would rather see the Dolphins stop them and not the ref.
You would know about being inches short huh little fella
@@888strummerfreeze frame at 38 seconds when his knee hits. If you done see a ball behind thats clearly behind hash marks, idk what to tell you
@@Qsefthuk121 The ruling is that the referee must see "incontrovertible visual evidence" that the original call was incorrect for a call to be overturned. The knee is not actually hitting the ground until the 39 second mark of this video and when the knee actually hits the ground the ball is right up to the line it needed to make. Absolutely impossible to be sure either way so the call should have stood. The hash mark at the 29 yard line was not the spot needed; he needed to get about 5 inches before the 29 yard line. So this is simply way too close to overturn. When it's inches either way, you do not overturn because it's not definite either way.
Y’all some boot lickers. The refs were horrible this game and sold the patriots. There was not enough evidence to overturn the call and when you look at it it’s clear he cross the marker
He used to be a dolphin and I miss him but I love seeing the dolphins beat the pats at their house. Tua is 5-0 against them!
The fact that there is this much argument over whether or not he made it is justification enough that they should not have overturned it.
Stop playing from behind! Period! Good teams dont
No Fun League at it again.
Nice homage to the Rugby World Cup
I’m a dolphins fan but that would have been incredible. Personally thought he had it
THERES NO WAY THAT WASN'T A FIRST DOWN
Big props to Gesicki too
But yeah we was robbed of an epic ending
Refs wanted the Dolphins to win
Not a fan of either bit that was absolutely bullshit of a call
Another game for the Patriots end in heartbreak following a lateral, perhaps they shouldn't make a habit out if that lol.
I can only wonder what Bill Belichick is smoking
Hard to believe this team was inches away from giving me a goddamn heart attack… win is a win tho 🐬⬆️
Gesicki is a fantastic TE, and thisbplaybproves it.
He's looking around for someone to throw to while doing everything in his power to stay upright long enough.
He really isn't a fantastic TE as he can't pass or run block to save his life which is why the Dolphins no longer wanted him. He's got very slow acceleration off of the line and is just an average route runner. Only thing he's good to great at is catching contested passes and being a good red zone target.
Pats should have won man the refs suck 😂💀
Do people still think Bill Belichick is a genius?
Dan Connolly's kick return back in the dynasty years was classic. This was a heads up play by both players last night, heartbreaker for sure.
They tried that crap last year vs the Raiders….😂
This was the game that derailed our season
As a Brady lover I I'm glad the Pats are being exposed as chumps with a chump coach. 8 more loses and Coach Bill will have the most loses in history. The curse is on. YEAH !!!!!

Patriots and sad lateral attempts... tale as old as time
Or 9 months but whose counting
If he had gotten that, it'd have been ranked up there with Dan Connolly's kick return in terms of great big man moments.
Can I say the FIns are officially the patriots daddy ?
? How? They haven’t won a playoff game since 2001. They haven’t won the division since 2008. They only made the playoffs last season (after the pats made it in 2021).
OMG THAT WAS A FIRST DOWN!!!
The. Tables. Have. Turned.
For anyone saying the refs should have just given this to the Patriots even though he was short. Umm no the Patriots were already helped out plenty by the refs in this game. Like their first TD 4th quarter. On the Patriots first TD they had Hunter Henry blocking 5 yards down the field before catching the TD as well as had a Offensive Linemen a good 5 yards down the field as well on the same play. So they committed offensive pass interference as well as a ineligible man downfield. Yet instead of them having a 2nd and 14 they were instead awarded a TD. Strange was clearly short by a half a yard when his knee hit the ground. And if it was your team in the same situation you wouldn't livid if the refs just decided he picked up the first down just because it was a fun play.
Yikes. Dolphins are in trouble if they struggled to get this win... the Patriots suck
Line judge comes in ruling it short, then the ref who was about 25+ yards away from the play comes out of nowhere saying first down. Same ref flagging eli apple for nothing numerous times(which i get, noone likes him.)
Nice 😊 F the Pats
Hmm.. I’m sorry!
Should of given him the spot for the legend lol
Damn we lost the same way as wk 1 but I'm confident we are a good team we just have to score on offense even if it's just 3 but week 1 down 16 came out and was on the comeback then we get all the way to the redzone and don't convert on 4th week 2 down 17 came back and couldn't convert ( did convert ) in enemy territory .
I'll say it we get this offense even middle of the pack in scoring we will be a terror to beat
Questionable... just like them trying to injure Waddle was questionable huh?
You couldn't script that play in your sleep.
Did you really have to put " dolphins win over Pat's" in the title I was about to watch the highlights. 😢
Feel bad for the pats
How can you overturn that? Was there indisputable evidence? No! That was so close and should not have been changed.
they should have given him an extra yard as style points at least
People saying he should’ve ran deeper like Jones didn’t underthrow him and as if Jones would’ve had time to wait for him to go deeper…dude was getting blasted as he threw o line fucked this up
It didn't nearly work, it WORKED. Shotty refs.
That should be a first down. The ball was clearly passed the first down marker.
1:28 🤣🤣🤣
Damn ima be honest i think he made it passed the line, though overturning that with the given angles it just wouldnt go in their favor
Good overturn, definitely not a first down. You can see his elbow at the 29 after his knees is down and the ball is still behind that.
What happened to all the uploads?? Last year you were uploading vids like crazzzy
You know the refs cars where probably trashed after this game/call lmao 😂😂😂
