- IN THIS WEEKS VIDEO..
WE DESTROYED A CAR PORT .. PORCH PART 4 WE GET THE BLAKES PROFILES UP AND BUILD UP THE 7 COURSES OF THE PORCH DWARF WALL THEN BACK IT UP WITH FIBOLITE BLOCKS ON THE INTERNAL SKIN WITH CAVITY WALL INSULATION INSTALLED AS WE WENT.
NEXT WE BUILD THE 3 STEPS FOR ACCESS TO THE FRONT DOOR THEN FINALLY WE GET TO TEAR DOWN THE OLD FIBREGLASS CAR PORT WHICH PUT UP A HELL IF A FIGHT.
ONCE DOWN WE HAD TO REPLACE SOME BRICKS WHICH HAD BEEN BADLY BLOWN BY THE FIXINGS USED ON THE CAR PORT SUPPORTS..

Very impressive job. I'd give you 11 out of 10.
Almost looks like you know what you are doing!! 😉
PS I bet 99% of builders wouldn't have cut out & replaced the bricks with the canopy bolts, just cut them flush with an angle grinder. Superb attention to detail.
Thanks very much Sean 🧱👍🏽
Top quality workmanship. Lovely job Steve & Alex.
Cheers Ashley .🧱👍🏽
interesting you laid the steps direct on the flags without giving them any footings?
Was the driveway / flags to be trusted then?
Absolutely ! 🧱👍🏽
Horrible measurement from that corner to door I would of just made opening abit big n gone full brick pier nice work tho
The internal wall would have been in the door way then 😬🧱👍🏽
Hmmn, those steps are too shallow boys you can easily trip on them , well thats what i was taught, dont blame the messenger .Ha.
🧱👍🏽
Sorry to show my ignorance, but, building the steps on those "pavers" seems troublesome. Won't they move naturally? Won't the steps pull away from the porch?
No they are fine the flags are solid 💪🏼🧱👍🏽
Great job boys as always. Lesser men would have cut the bolts flush with the wall.....and damaged the brick at the same time. Good to see skilled men who know what they are doing !!!!
Cheers Dave 🧱👍🏽
Good job 👍
You've done a good job, this isn't aiming at your work, but I can't understand client's wisdom loosing some of his parking space, and access to the garage, assuming there is one in the back garden (well, if there isn't now, there is enough space to have one and there was a driveway access to it that is now gone!). Could you shed some light please?
They don’t have a garage and only 1 car so they would rather have a lovely large porch 👍🏽🧱
@@SteveAndAlexBuildThanks gentlemen, I can see it from their perspective now, maybe bungalows aren't so big so unlikely a family with 3 or 4 cars be living there, maybe at their stage of life comfort and keeping heating costs down are more of a priority (it's for all of us right now!)
I'd have considered adding a prefab garage (bought a nearly new one once for £1, as long as I dismantle and take away at my cost) and kept the driveway open (would get rid of that ghastly canopy as you did), maybe a recessed porch could be worked out? I think this plan could increase the property value at least would add to its market appeal.
That said, the porch wouldn't be light and airy like this one so good on them and god bless 🐥👍
@@soundslight7754 😁🧱👍🏽
A house I deliver to had one of them unsupported canopy's over the drive/door. That was until all the snow we had in 2010 caused it to collapse onto the car and take the whole gable end brickwork with it!
Car was a write off and it took the insurance 4 months to sort the house out.
The replacement canopy has 4 legs on it and when it snows the neighbour next door puts 3 acrow props under his unsupported canopy.
Jeez ! 😳🧱👍🏽
Awesome video thanks lads for your time and consideration top job top team 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Thanks for the support Phil 🤜🏽🤛🏽🧱👍🏽

Terrific guys. New to the channel and love it.
Glad to hear it , welcome to the channel Wayne 🧱👍🏽
What a pain with those huge bolts. Good job you took them out.
It was a pain 😬🧱👍🏽
Wow a huge improvement to the existing setup. Great job guys I couldn't perceive where it was all going until you shared the end shots. Fantastic how the entry level floor flows onto the porch. Really nice work guys.
Thanks Frank it turned out nice 👌🏼 🧱👍🏽
Hello, I'm new to your channel and I find it quite interesting. Question: why did you put foam in between the brick and the cement blocks? God bless.
Hi misty welcome to the channel .
It’s not foam, it’s fibreglass cavity wall insulation specifically for that purpose 🧱👍🏽
@@SteveAndAlexBuild Hi again. Thanks for the reply about the insulation...I should have waited until the end to ask that question. And WOW, I was so surprised to see that beautiful closed-in entryway, especially the door they chose. Now I understand the need for insulation. Have a good day and God bless.

Fantastic job lads ,love the channel guys
Thanks Andrew 🧱👍🏽
Cracking job! Your attention to detail really makes your work stand out. Something that's sadly missing in so many new builds these days. Loved Al's classic death stare at the noisy moped in the intro. Like a disapproving school teacher when a kid farts in class 😅😅
😂😂 cheers pal 🧱👍🏽
Looks the part that, Lads 👍Nice to get images of the finished article too.
Oh, BTW....that Evo saw is very tempting, I've had their stuff before and it's more than decent for the money. I like the idea of it having water suppression and being electric at the same time....what could possibly go wrong! ⚡️🔥☠️
Go for it! 🤔😁🤙🏾🧱👍🏽
Looks awesome. Can I make a request that every now and then you release a real-time video? I just love watching you both lay bricks (weird as that might sound), and so it's always slightly disappointing to me that most of your brick laying is sped up. I love the channel either way, I just wanted to make that request.
Cheers buddy . We will try and get more into the videos 🧱👍🏽
Very nice job lads 👍
Cheers Malc 🤙🏾🧱👍🏽
Southport I have not been there for years and years nice job AGAIN and i like the Evolution ,i have a chop saw but aren't the blades expensive thanks for the video
Cheers Eddie 🤙🏾🤙🏾🧱👍🏽
Them eco saws are class, had mine over a year👍🏻 one thing I never knew was your not meant to use metal cutting blades with them cos of the rpm is to high. Just be careful😬😂
They cut 110nm nearley too✌🏻
🤜🏽🤛🏽🤙🏾🧱👍🏽
Impressive job all round both. those rawl bolts certainly made a mess of the bricks. Nicely repaired. 👍👍
Yeah extra work we didn’t price for as usual 😒🧱👍🏽
Cracking job

Super job. It must be very satisfying to see other trades come in and work from the great work you did. Great results at the end. I'd say client was chuffed.
Yes Wayne , neil is a great joiner and great to work with . It turned out really nice 👌🏼 🧱👍🏽
looks a nice job, why didn't you run the steps back to the house instead of leaving that silly gap?
🧱👍🏽
Somewhere to store old leaves.
Hi Steve & Alex. Another great job. That floor was spot on with the original floor. Like the steps. Love the detail with the old roof. Like everyone has said most would just cut them off. Not you two well done for that. Nice job. Have a good week. 👍
Thanks pal 🧱👍🏽
Brilliant job Steve and Alex well done you certainly deserve your wages nobody can complain about your workmanship
Thanks ray 🧱👍🏽
Brilliant job I'm pleased you showed the finished job
Thanks Stuart, yes it’s always nice to get back for a look 👀 🧱👍🏽
Top job again lads it it amazed me when the concrete pad arrived at the same level as the door it looked at one time it was going to be a lot higher. Silly me I shouldn’t have doubted you two. 👍👍👌

I can see why they were adamant the the porch floor level was the same as the floor boards. It flows really well. The whole job looks spot on.
Definitely worth the extra effort 😁👌🏼🧱👍🏽
What an improvement, I felt dirty when you were tearing that canopy down - hope it went as you planned

When those canopies came out mid 80s, they advertised they could hold a small car, and showed a photo of one with small car on top of one, I almost bought one but the salesman got right on my tits, I told him to jog on, finished up moving shortly after 🤣 so at least I saved the money 💰 👍🧱
