  • What is the best hip arthritis exercise?
It doesn't exist! There's no one single exercise that can fix hip arthritis for good.
There are some exercises that might help with hip pain relief, and there are some exercises that can help with strengthening, and other exercises that can improve mobility... but no single exercise can do it all.
In this video, Dr. David explains why there's no one best exercise to heal painful hip osteoarthritis.

Always appreciate your advice, as being a senior in small town Canada it isn't always possible to get one on one physical therapy. Your videos are a great help as we find what works through trial and error. Thanks for your work.

Hi I am 60yrs of age just come back from a scan for a rotator cuff tear, I had a problem one year ago same shoulder which was healing after exercise and physio, then in Nov last year I fell badly on my hip, with instant sciatica, very sore painfully torn knees, and renewed extreme pain in my right shoulder, also now with pain in my left shoulder.. With gentle persuasion and visits to hospital physio my knees and hip have now recovered significantly, but will always have probs due to stills disease as a youngster. My right shoulder scan shows a bad tear and inflamed muscles tendons, his words were "it was just about attached" , the pain is very bad most of time. An opp or injection was also mentioned..
After an Xray tomorrow I will need to talk with the physio again for a course of remedial action. Having applied a number of your exercise routines over the past 5 months. Ime hoping for some sign of self recovery. If offered do you feel an injection with further exercise routines will eventually resolve things, ime not so keen on an opp..so hoping for the best Thanking you Regards from Tom..
PS thank you for all your hard work with video presentations👍.

I fell and broke my hip 3 months ago. I had an intertrochateric fracture and it was fixed with an intramedullary nail. I have been through 12 Physical Therapy sessions and have no restrictions from my surgeon or PT. I have arthritis in both hips. I still walk with a cane and was wondering if your Hip Arthritis Recovery program would be appropriate for me. Thank you.

Finding the right help is crucial - you need an experienced PT / physician / trainer in order to sequence the exercises and the difficulty to get to the right place. The ‘one right’ exercise will always be the last one along the chain!

After six weeks I'm still in excruciating hip pain, so I can't do exercises. Should pain last this long? 🥺 I take 600mg of Advil, 1000mg of Tylenol every 8 hrs and it doesn't provide any relief.
