My wife and I are huge fans of Billy. We bought our first house in 2007 (which we could barely afford) around the same time Billy was playing a local town. Tickets to the gig were not an option on our wages at the time and the venue sold out almost instantly anyway, but in a moment of madness, I paid triple the price online for a pair of tickets so we could go. We struggled over the following couple of months as a result of my spontaneity but it was one of the best decisions I ever made.
Billy makes me cry! He is beautifully innapropriate and so full of life. His stories are the best. He is an amazingly talented tour de force. The world is a better place for Billy. 😊
Used to listen to Billy’s cassettes when I was too young to do so as a kid in the 70’s. Always got caught giggling under the covers, when I should have been sleeping. Got in trouble at school for singing The Shitkickers Waltz in early Primary School. My life/sense of humour, would not have been the same without this man.
I have been privileged enough to have seen Billy live 3 times when he has visited New Zealand and each time, to borrow a quote from him, I thought I would need an ambulance. No one has made me laugh to the point of stomach cramps, like he has. Love ya Bill.
Just thanks Billy. Cheers - you have made me/us smile for 40 or 50 or 60 years. Your humanity is humbling and inspiring and everyone knows it. God Bless you and thanks again.
