And back then, players were more inclined to be friendly and actually explain mechanics if you didn’t understand something. Now, ironically when the game is its most difficult, players are LESS inclined to help explain mechanics. Especially to healers, because if the healer dies 60% of the time you don’t need them anyways. So why reset and at that point why even explain the mechanic to them because the boss is already dead.

The fights themselves weren't mechanically complex but latency was far higher, your stats were far lower and the game overall just wasn't as friendly to you - the player. There's a waterfall's worth of QoL that's been added to the game since 2013 that so many people take for granted or just wouldn't believe wasn't in the game when it relaunched (like something as simple as keeping your food buff when you died or the targeting ring around a mob indicating its facing or positional requirements). Attack range was far lower, magical dps didn't track enemies with spells (if you were facing a mob, and it went left of you, it broke LoS so you lost the cast), focus targeting wasn't in the game, combo actions were much shorter to complete, ranged attacks broke all combo actions - ARR was just a very, very different game overall that I don't even think the majority of the playerbase existing today would even be able to clear past Haukke Manor effectively.

i'm a 1.0 player, the problem is we are old and some are very old, you cant teach an old dog new tricks, some are just clickers and refuse to learn anything. also how do you know its a 1.0 player? don't worry they will tell you. we like to think we are special too. I have the tattoo, i saw someone standing near limsa marketboard with it showing the other day when i went to buy something on their server, the next day i saw them again, so just for fun i showed mine and stood next to them, they walked away without saying anything, some do not like others with the tattoo because they love to feel special.
I can understand people being this bad at the game and that's fine. @@biggrayalien4791 "you have 2.5 seconds to click" isnt the whole issue, you really dont understand the problem it seems. when clicking an ability, your eyes are on the curser and not on the boss which is distracting, when you are clicking, you can't use the mouse to move at the same time. having to click an ability is always a handicap, no matter how you twist it. the problem is the most apparent when you have to also aim the ability with the mouse after clicking it.
Now that I’ve gotten used to the way the game forecasts mechanics, they’ve become a lot more enjoyable. Going back to early content with a party that occasionally has some newer people is when you realize which ones had some weird, silent mechanics they’ve thankfully gotten better at showing. “At this part of the fight, everyone split up or we all instantly die. Nothing indicates this will happen.”

@@paradigmshift470I mean, solo duties in the campaign have normal, easy, and very easy mode if you fail it once on normal. Trials are not even that hard, first time boss does a telegraphed aoe in battle, you get an indicator for the whole windup, after that you gotta pay attention. Dungeon bosses are the same way, you get one learning / refresher version of the attack, then you gotta put it in practice.

It actually caught me off guard seeing the some AOE markers actually disappear. Making you see need to actually a little more attention. Took two wipes. But we still learned it. And I thoroughly enjoyed it.

You might just actually have to try a few times or practice.
One of these forum people actually shared a clip and asked what they did wrong. They didnt have ctrl, shift etc shortcuts set up only 1234 etc and used the mouse to click on almost all of their actions and had done so since arr.

If you look closely the blades show a fading spinning motion, both in the same circular direction, indicating that this is the way his blades will spin. Here in the video for examples anti-clockwise. I believe he used the same already in the solo duty in the palace before this.

I can't fathom casuals being this far into the story and still not having a fkn clue, let alone ability to learn, mechs.
Don't underestimate the power of being carried by others (and for solo content there's always the easy difficulty).
If you want to be even more acurate, you must click your abilities instead of using hotkeys.
I use keys and click I don't have any other way unless I get one of those mouses with the numbers on it and yet I still beat the game already lol

I never knew that after retiring from savage and mythic raiding that people lose all of their ability to spot the most obvious of tells.
These are the casuals that Take pride on painstakingly beating minecraft on peaceful/Creative mode.

I can understand the blade thing, because Eden: Furor has this mechanic, and you resolved it correctly in that instance.
