EM update - My Thoughts So Far

- recently a viewer asked what I thought about the electric motion so far. I've been trying to ride it exclusively for the last few months and in this video I will summarize my thoughts so far. em is a great machine and I'm having a lot of fun with it.

Appreciate your approach and dedication to the discipline of trials… thanks for the review, I think an EM could open a whole world of possibilities
Oh for sure. It's a great machine
Its amazing how the camera reduces the ability to judge the size and difficulty of various obstacles. Your training vids have always been excellent and often lead my practice sessions, thank you.
Thank you.
Yes, these look much easier when I watch it back. 😆
Amazing explanation of the difference. Riding on an EM myself and never experienced a gas powered bike because of neighbours… So very interesting to hear a detailed opinion on the difference. Thanks!
You're welcome. Ride em all, everyone of them has their differences
Nice job on that section at the end!
Thank you. Lots of practice on that line 😉

Do you find that enabling TKO helps with engine inertia? So there is a continuous slight pull for getting over logs vs no tko, cutting throttle completely and getting stuck? Thanks
I do. So long as you keep the clutch out (engaged) that does help some. However, it's not nearly as strong as the inertia on a gas bike.
I struggled with the lack of feedback in the lower RPM with the clutch in, it's very difficult to judge the RPM compared to an IC bike. Everything else is fantastic though 😁
Agreed. Also if you lose traction on EM then the rear tire spins out uncontrollably whereas on the gas bike when you break traction in mud you can still regain it by pulling the clutch in because it doesn't spin so drastically
@@TrialsProgression I haven't had enough time to learn the nuances, but the time I spent put my mind at ease for the eventual transition to electric, and being nearly silent opens up so many options 😁
Look forward to seeing how you get on with it.
I've had one of these for almost 2 years, and on sandstone it is an absolute weapon. My only complaint is that making sure you don't hurt the $4000+ battery can be really annoying.
😳 ..... Yikes , I had no idea the battery costs
I rode one and really enjoyed it, but I wouldn't own an old one because of the battery life.

@@TrialsProgressionit maybe too late now, but three years ago I needed to purchase a small but very high quality LiFePo4 battery set up. You really need to understand the chemistry to maximise the life of these bad bois. If you're interested then Will Prowse, he's the man.
Hey, Is this EM with hydro-clutch?
Yes, it is. It's very helpful, but you can also run it without using the clutch. Very customizable
Balance-wise you look better on the electric!
Agreed, it's 👌 in the slow technical stuff
This video sums up precisely all the reasons why the EM is bad long term for skills development, it's all about the throttle.........short term gains in turns and balance offset by limitations in obstacles and clutch control. Too avoid the ICE power pulses/push-on/inertia ride a 125...............300 and 250 are not the best choice for learning skills or recent/novice riders
Electric bikes? Those who warship them - do some research into the battery production industry. Not sure? Find a job that pays inline with YouTUBE fees but creates some tangible things
