everyone have to stop supporting gopro! yes their cameras are somewhat decent. but they way they run the company is aweful, running that subscriber scam, I have unfortunately been a gopro premium subscriber for the past 2-3 years now. i recently was going to buy the new gp13 and the subscription promises me 100 usd off that purchase! well thats another story! for the past week i have been trying to get that discrount with no luck! the support team is just telling me that my case is still open. HOW hard can it be to give the customers what they promise them, there are tons of other posts on the internet about exactly the same! So now you guys have been warned, DO NOT fall for their subscription scam 😅
Hope you get what you paid for, that's seriously shady. I went to the GoPro website a few weeks back as I've been shopping for. New action camera. Was surprised to see the "subscription plan" and variable prices on accessories. Was looking at the Hero 13, but after DJI announced the Action 5 Pro, it is was a no brainer. Less money, better performance, top notch customer service, innovations like subject tracking, horizon balance and the ability to use a wireless mic. The list goes on! I haven't had an action cam since the Hero 4 Session.....I doubt I'll ever buy a GoPro again.
@@BlackbirdSSR yeah. well i didnt. i ended up canceling my subscription and yeahi bought a dji action 5 ;) The story was that yes after a while gopro support finally reached out to me and told me that they had fixed that problem and now i was able to get the gp13 at the discount rate i was promised as a premium subscriber. well that was not the case still not able to get the discount. But as i said. Stay away from the subscription plan. i still like gopro and i will most likely get one next summer. :O
I've been a subscriber for ~3 years and like it. Yes, uploading data can take a while but you get 'unlimited' storage for GoPro footage which clears up space off my server. The plan I'm on also gives some additional storage for non-GoPro footage which again clears up some space on my server. I just bought the Hero 13 and had the same issue regarding the discount. Called GoPro support and they gave me a discount code for the $100USD 2 business days later.
The batt change from the prev model would knock this off my list. I bought a new DJI A4, then picked up a used A3. Not a good option with the GoPro batt change.
I live in Mexico and GoPro 13 cost 442usd (8500pesos) and Dji Osmo Ation 4 adventure combo cost 400usd (7700peso) on Amazon. I don't understand how GoPro can sell their camera here. I did sell my old GoPro to buy new one but I will go with Dji Osmo Action 5 in 4 days. Its time to short GoPro stock :(
Great video have the GoPro 12 don't see much reason to upgrade, and just got the DJI Mic 2 and when transmitter is connected via Bluetooth, the internal recording and noise cancellation functions are unavailable which suck no 32bit backup, listed on the DJI site, which the Osmo Action 5 Pro may fix September 19 leaks say ( Audio: 3 stereo microphones with OsmoAudio & 47GB built-in storage ) so maybe 32 bit Internal or better 24bit and can connect 2 DJI Mic 2 transmitters. With the new 4nm chip and better battery maybe the one to get this year hope you're making a video on it.
lol i did the same thing with the internal recording on my mic... it synced up.. and pressed the button and felt the vibration but didnt realize it wasnt recording... but i mean ... this is what you get with their bluetooth... they really should have sold their own mic that sounds better
It’s probably not a bad camera but just not the upgrade most want. I’m still using a Hero 8 for motovloging using lower resolution so overheating isn’t a concern. Owning a Pocket 3 w/ the DJI mic 2 makes me think DJI for cheaper is the upgrade if I need to.
I've been waiting to see the competition between GoPro and Dji wow if this go pro 13 is worse than a Dji 4 well for my first camera I will buy the Dji 5 GoPro seems to be is money hungry with bad products
Reviewers need to get out of this ‘upgrade’ mentality. Most people don’t upgrade to the new model of everything every year when a new version comes out (GoPro, Apple, DJI etc.) New models are aimed at people that are either upgrading from a model 3-5 years old or starting from scratch. So, reviewers need to focus on what to buy if you have ‘x’ or need to choose one with no previous experience
@@PhannyObsession I mentioned in my video if you have 10/11/12 don’t upgrade but if any other model before that it’s something to consider. Please watch the video before you come to comments and make judgement. I paid for this with my own money and went out of my way to make this video to help people make their decision

2024 first model can't even do something that is similar to 2023 DJI/ INSTA product. That is a big question if GoPro is giving up on innovation process. Thanks.
I feel like as good as GoPro was out of the gates years ago.. then compare to today… I’m not impressed at all with the progress. AT ALL. Then by comparison, iPhone cameras from the late 2000’s compared to today… like insanely advanced. GoPro just seems to be lagging. I’d buy an old model & be just as happy as the newer over priced situation they’re trying to get everyone on board with. Yeah, Apple has done this crap too… but even still, an insane amount of progress from a 2008 iPhone camera to the current iPhone 16 pro max. Come on GoPro, pick up the pace if you want the big money from your fans! We want you to succeed, so just live up to it.
You are comparing a change to a level. 😅 The copycats cannot shoot 5.3K 60P still and do not have GPS. The Ace Pro does not have 10bit color or a log gamma. Many of the haters are people who do not shoot video seriously - color and dynamic range (using log) matter more than shooting in the dark. GPS lack in the former model was roundly crticized, so I guess this upgrade matters. Finally, no serious action camera user wants a 1" sensor, and even the copycat action cams do not have one.
@@JasonMorrisphotocinema I don't disagree about the upgrade, except it is not a "bad" upgrade just not a major one (unless you value GPS); I was responding to the guy complaining about the upgrades compared to the GoPro wannabe's. BUT, the Ace Pro does NOT have a 1" sensor. It is the same sensor as the DJI Action 4 = 1/1.3". Please come back and admit your mistake so no one is confused. Go Pro= 1/1.9".
@@markr041 dude chill. I meant the insta One R which I reviewed a couple years ago. You can make videos and voice your opinion on your channel if you like
The dji Action 4 seems to be the way to go with the current reduced priced. I'm really liking mine and only missing the 5K, which allowed me some more cropping in editing. Honestly not expecting much in the action 5 pro either. Think these companies aren't really incentivized to make massive improvements. Think they'll update the GOPRO12 software to be able to do burst recording?
Amazing video!!! I recently sold my old Gopro 10 and I moved to Insta360 Ace Pro. The only think I don't like about her is that you need to remove the microSD and put it on SD reader and then plug it to your PC...
TBH, none of the action cameras are upto mark rn. Action 4 has some weird lens flares, Insta360 is still in 8 bit colors and gopro man oh man I wish they updated their sensor with this update. Guess we’ll have to wait some more time for brands to get better products out there
Chinese propaganda and suggestive talking by leading people to misleading thoughts by not having a non-bias review. Consider deportation for false pretenses. The number of Chinese people have place reviews that have no support for US product. GoPros located San Mateo , and their manufacturing probably not too far. Conclusive statements about product design that don't get into accurate descriptions so she's Wi-Fi 6 is far improved to load to the cloud for security cameras
GoPro blew it... I have seen better footage from the Akaso Brave. This camera is a money grab with the dumb accessories and the battery change. Sad to see the slow death of a legend. They got comfortable on top and fell asleep like the tortoise and the hare. R.I.P.
I love my 11 thanks for the vid I was thinking about upgrading but you answered a lot of questions I had
I’ll keep my action 4. Waiting for the action 5 review. I think DJI is firmly in control of that market now
Action 5 is waiting for you
I wish. The nerfed the bitrates, 60mbps on Action 5 while GoPro can do a max of like 180-200mbps. Insane.
