  • My first military surplus rifle purchased many years ago. It is an Izhevsk stamped 1943. It is in very good condition so I do not believe it saw much action. I replaced the firing pin spring with one manufactured by Drex Outdoors to improve the stiff bolt.
I'm no expert so the quality of this video may not be the best.

I absolutely love the 91/30 rifles! Basic, cheap, effective, accurate, and pretty much stupid-proof. With minimal training a new recruit will hit targets at infantry battle distances. Ain't pretty, but still does the job very well.

I have one too, beautiful weapon …..Shes about 4 minutes to the right. Can’t figure it out……I guess the barrel got bent during shipping or somebody run it hot and leaned up against the tree or something…….still shoot it through….she’s a beast.

the front sight post of the mosin nagant is slightly offset to account for the bayonet's impact on the bullet. Attach your bayonet while firing to fix the innaccuracy.
