    Crow father was a name for oden who was so obsessed with knowledge he hung himself to learn more about the after life earning him the title The Hanged king

    i would say crowfather intentionally let death kill him

      That seems to be a common belief among the fan-base, and one we subscribe to as well.

    I think the theory of the CrowFather willing himself into the City of the Dead can be further reinforced by the fact that after Death encounters him there, he accompanies Death throughout the rest of his journey to revive humanity as he appears in both Lostlight and Shadow's Edge, showing he is capable of entering and leaving the Kingdom of the Dead whenever he pleases despite he himself being dead

    perhaps the crowfather wanted his soul purified from dealing with nephilim madness for so long. They may not be able to venture into the well but we really dont know what their souls are capable of. I just always figured he was some sort of necromancer with will over the dead and such so nothing could stop him.

    • @TrueMastersandMorons
      @TrueMastersandMorons  6 років тому +7

      That purification idea seems to be the prevailing theory that we've encountered, and it certainly makes a degree of sense. As for the necromancy, as a general rule no amount magical knowledge being held by the CrowFather would surprise us, I mean he is the keeper of secrets. Although in the novel, when he and Death work together on coaxing some information on a dead construct, he leaves the necromancy to Death. Now that could mean anything from the CrowFather doesn't know necromancy, to Death is better at it, or to it simply being a division of mystical labor as the CrowFather was handling a different aspect of the process. But the CrowFather necromancing his way to a better life as a spirit is definitely within the realm of possibility.

      I mean I can easily buy that he willed himself into the well to be cleansed if he's an Archmage that predates the well then he has had literally all the time in the world to figure out how it works

    What is known about Fury and Strife? Strife, especially, seems to be being kept in the dark.

    • @TrueMastersandMorons
      @TrueMastersandMorons  6 років тому +6

      Fury doesn't have much information on her (yet), Although with Darksiders 3 coming out in November that is primed to change. But you're absolutely right, Strife has next to no information on him. He is in a few panels of the comics, with a few words in each appearance, and he makes a brief appearance in the Abomination Vault novel, but his commentary and actions there don't give us much in terms of character definition without more context.

    My theory was that the crowfather used death to reach the afterlife. With his connection to his raven where ever death went he went. When he wanted to leave he left. As soon as he made it there.

    • @TrueMastersandMorons

      We've heard similar theories before, and it definitely seems plausible, makes him seem even more tricky if nothing else, which is kinda fun.

    The Crowfather is too old to have his soul taken into the well of souls, but he's not necessarily denied entry into the Kingdom of the Dead or even the City of the Dead because of it. Even if he should be denied entry in the City of the Dead, I imagine he wouldn't have much trouble beating the champion of the Guilded Arena and earning an audience with the Lord of Bones and request entry. In fact, I suspect the Crowfather had enough power to earn the Lord's respect and favor without having to go on a fetch quest like Death did. Speaking of which, why do people seem to be so hung up about the Crowfather being in the City of the Dead, when Death himself was granted entry while still alive?

    I believe since Crow father was killed by death himself his cell was guided 2 the Well of Souls, because that is the purpose of Death incarnate.

    When you mentioned Crowfather's true name I began to think of a few reasons why none know it the first being that his name is his best kept secret second he simply forgot his name or thirdly he only gave his name to beings he considered friend and that many of those beings are dead either by way of mass extinction event by way of the void leaving him the survivor or were put to the blade and torch by the nephilim

    or maybe the Crowfather is not mad since the beginning, he just simply wants Death to do all the things to help him gather info about the Corruption and get rid of the amulet and those useless souls he had extracted all knowledges from
    if he lives to his title - The keeper of secrets - then little screaming and cursing is not enough to drive him crazy while he has listened to eons of info, a reason honor enough to die and go to the City of the Dead is more convincing

    • @RhapsodyDusk

      That does line up with his dialogue with Death before he goes to fight Absalom. Death accuses the Crowfather with "testing him".

  • @lukeandersen867
    @lukeandersen867 4 роки тому +1

    My theory on the Crowfather is that he is the oldest “living” old one. This could mean that there were others born before him, but they are all dead and gone.

  • @JeremySmith-ve2ur

    Yeah but odin loves meeting people. Thats the whole point of him wandering around pretending to be a nobody.
    Mister "refusing a visitor" clearly does not share the same philosophy.

    • @TrueMastersandMorons
      @TrueMastersandMorons  6 років тому +8

      That is a very fair point. We hadn't really taken the time to do lot's of research on Odin, since the connections between he and the Crowfather were few and minor, and by the sounds of it we're glad we didn't. Didn't know about the whole wandering to meet new people thing. Thanks!

    Maybe the shackles around the Crowfather's wrists are how he was able to appear in the City of the Dead despite supposedly being the oldest Old One. We don't know anything about the shackles except that they're a relatively recent addition to his paraphernalia since Death hadn't seen them before the events of The Abomination Vault and was curious about their purpose, only for the Crowfather to rebuke his curiosity by telling him to mind his own business.

    I think that the crow father is still the eldest. I believe the reason why he was there was just what you guys had said. But to add on, it was to purify himself from the madness. Now that he is purified, he can do what he wants.

    Is it possible that the crowfather wanted Death to kill him? Could he have planned this whole thing from the beginning? Did he trick Death into killing him so he could be of use at the well of souls?

    • @TrueMastersandMorons
      @TrueMastersandMorons  5 років тому

      It's possible, we've had many commenters voice similar theories. The idea is definitely sound, considering the CrowFather seems both more lucid, and more friendly after his death, but obviously we can't say for sure. Fun idea for sure.

    I can't understand why the CrowFather was so willing to help Death in the second part of Darksiders 2

    • @TrueMastersandMorons
      @TrueMastersandMorons  6 років тому +13

      We think that because he went through the cleansing process it brought him back to a state of sanity. At which point he had everything he wanted the knowledge of the Nephilim with out the madness. So he had no reason not to help Death, and perhaps even felt he owed Death. But this is all speculation.

      Because they were almost friend, but he forced death to kill him or take the amulet in order to keep quiet the voice in his head. After that with his mind fresh again he is more willing to help speak etc

    Question for the both of you what's the scariest TV monster you've seen? Based on my experience it would be the weeping angels from doctor who no doubt

    • @TrueMastersandMorons
      @TrueMastersandMorons  5 років тому

      Isaac says "Vashta Narada. The Shadow creatures from 'Silence in the Library' and of course the Doctor himself :P"
      Tarren: "The shadow creature from season 2 of Stranger Things, From Doctor Who I agree with Weeping angels and then the Silence."
      But we both agree that no matter the show (Specifically we think to supernatural) The scariest and most disturbing episodes are the ones where the "bad guys" are the humans.

    can you do a video about who created the darksiders god or whatever they call him?

    • @TrueMastersandMorons
      @TrueMastersandMorons  6 років тому +1

      There is a being in Darksiders Mythology known simply as The Creator, he/she/it supposedly created the very first... everything, the Charred Council is supposed to enforce the Creator's will by maintaining balance, and the Angels of Heaven believe that they are serving the Creator's will. Heaven and Hell both have leaders independent of the Creator itself. That's the only deific figure we're familiar with in Darksiders, and that's also pretty much all we know about him/her/it. Is that what you're asking about?

    • @jessekaakkomaki2747
      @jessekaakkomaki2747 5 років тому

      the creator did create countless things but with Darksiders 2 makers said the first world which was created was their own and they created some parts of heaven and hell

    He could will himself to the well to try and learn secrets from every dying entity in existence. He learned alot from just the nephilim so why couldnt he learn from all the dead

    • @TrueMastersandMorons
      @TrueMastersandMorons  5 років тому +1

      That's true if he could find his way to the well without entering it there's no reason he couldn't take a soul here and there to learn their secrets. That's a cool idea. :)
