WOW, Perfect timing and AWESOME video on how to handle these Deutsch DT connectors, Thank YOU !!! I had similar problems with my 2007 GTi 155 last fall and ordered a OEM starter solenoid and the Titan starter button to try to fix this Spring. I replaced the starter solenoid (as usual), but it didn't fix the problem (as it normally does). Then I started reading the shop manual and wiring diagrams to see how to replace the start button (which was an intermittent problem on this Ski), but those docs are NO help.
So last few days went looking for this exact video and came up empty -- then tonight (13 hours after you posted), BAM!, I found your video (many Google searches later). I've worked on many, many vehicles old and new, but never would've guess how to crack open the Deutsch DT connectors (didn't even know what they were called) without your great camera angles and solid editing skills. Thank you for being so diligent b/c too many other YT vids are too quick and block too much of the actual fix. I'm subscribed : )

Why wouldn't you just cut the yellow wire and connect the new one avoiding the whole process of fishing the wiring down through the harness and disconnecting/reconnecting it? Seems like a 5 minute job versus a 60 minute job fraught with peril. I mean, it's just a bad switch, right?

      Good morning ☕️
We appreciate you sharing your thoughts. We wanted the entire wire harness replaced as opposed to just the switch. 😎👍🧰

Totally agree. it is much easier and faster to cut the wires, solder the new one with shrink tubing.

Excellent video and thank you for posting!!! I had previously ordered part number 278001733 for the
START/STOP button wire mechanism from a Seadoo dealer. It looks like the same wire you ordered but doesn’t have the bullet connection on the ends like yours. They are loose wire ends…should I order the cable you have or how would I use the one they ordered for me?

Good morning Randy ☕️ thank you for sharing this. Have you opened up your handle bar unit to check if your wiring has a bullet-point connection?

No sir, not yet. I guess I’ll start there and then see which avenue I need to take. Thanks again!!

Thanks for the follow up, no worries. Looking forward to hearing if you have a bullet point or DT series connection for both wires.
That will play a big role moving forward when purchasing the correct replacement part.
