We never played this game in drama, but we did in cheer to help us with teamwork.

Actually choosing one of the groups to be a winner could be starting point for a competition between the actors which is not good when you want them to be a team. In my classes I encourage them to build together as a group no matter how many are they.

I find that adding a little competitive element adds energy, dynamism and creativity to the playing. I tend to allow all groups to win one round and thus 'force' a decider! The winners aren't lorded for their achievement or made to feel superior to everyone else!!... They are simply declared 'the winners' (then... they cheer!!) and we move straight into our next activity. A great many of my games have a little element of competition... I tend to find it increases the fun, vitality and focus in the room and gives a definite 'point' to the exercise (rather than endlessly whooshing, zipping, zapping and boinging in a circle)!
