We call this duck bang at my school
    Instead of pointing we do
    “Duck [name]”
And the two say bang instead of splat

Me too but we called it "Bang!" The middle person is the Sheirff, when 2 players still stand we settle it like cowboys (back-to-back and take a number of steps until Sheirff says Bang! or in this game Splat!

I see a lot of variations but We play it exactly like this but at the end when we go back to back the word is still ‘Splat’ and the person says something beginning the S that sounds like splat until they say splat.

This one is very much a fun and physical group warm up and should be used at the very start of a session in order to get players physically engaged and ready to work but if you are looking for skill development then, it does encourage listening, focus, action & reaction, awareness of the other and... as an added bonus, it's lots of fun so, it should create a tangible buzz of excitement which is never a bad way to start a session! Enjoy :).
