For those that are wanting to know the ingredients for the Lipstick Base Used here they are: Plus iv added why they are used, so maybe you could find another product that does the same thing.
Isododecane: Enhances the spreadability
Disteardimonium Hectorite: This ingredient is used as a thickening agent
Polymethylsilsesquioxane: It’s used as a film that creates a lubrication
Trimethylsiloxysilicate: Forms a protective barrier on the skin that slows down water loss, keeping skin hydrated
Tapioca Starch: Serves to stabilize emulsions
Synthetic Wax: Helps keep emulsions from separating into their oil and liquid components (Beeswax Or Carnauba Wax can be used if preferred)
Silica: Serves as a an abrasive, anticaking agent
Propylene Carbonate Octyldodecanol: Used As a solvent, it also helps to dissolve or suspend other ingredients in a formulation without chemically altering the other ingredients (can also be found in some adhesives + paint stripper
Kaolin Clay: Helps prevent skin from drying out.
Titanium Dioxide: Used as a Pigment / Colour Lightener
Trihydroxystearin: Improves stability when used in the oil phase of emulsions.
Everyone is Welcome 😊
Ps. I Got most of the “Ingredient uses” from the #MakingCosmetics website www.makingcosmetics.com
Everything is well priced but I just wish it wasn’t so expensive to ship to Australia 🇦🇺
thank you for sharing this..i am in the making to produce my own lipmatte..your information is realy helpful
Natasha Chillaxing Melts, Candles & Body Products Hi! What will I add to make my matte lipstick long-lasting? The one that I made can be easily erased just by licking your lips.
Also isododecane makes the lipstick matte
Thank you!
I am excited to receive this!
Hello! Which one of your matte liquid lipstick bases would you recommend for a non-drying liquid lip? I was thinking about getting the no. 2, but I was wondering if this one was better.
You could add zinc to make it sun protected to.
Hello, do I need to add any oils like sweet Almond oil or Coconut oil to make a liquid matte lipstick?
LOVE IT! THANKS.
can we use oxides or pure pigments if we dont want a shimmery lipstick? Does the mica have a huge effect on how matte it is?
The swatch was a little sheer, what can be done to make it more pigmented ?
Im having issues filling my wand tubes with this liquid lipstick base. Any tips? Thanks!
Can I do it with synthetic mica pigments to create duochrome and multicrome colors?
could you post a foundation tutorial
what ingredient is included for it is durable and not sticky in the cup
So cool!!
Please do a video how to make beetroot lipbalm?
Yes, you can add iron oxides instead, but D&C colors are easier to work with. Iron oxides need to be wetted (crushed in oil using a mortar and pestle) to reduce the particle size.
Will this work with just the base and pigments??
How You Make It So That It Does Not Flake Off
Is this nontoxic no animal testing and natural
Awesomeness
Yes, you can heat it up to about 60oC
Can I just Micas and not the Liquid lip color??
Micas are generally not used as primary pigments in lipstick products since their coloring capability is rather weak. We recommend to use liquid D&C colors (www.makingcosmetics.com/Organic-Liquid-Colors_c_36.html) as primary coloring agents in lipstick products since they provide an intense coloring effect and are easy to formulate with since they are already pre-dispersed. Micas are only added to add some shimmer.
how to buy these ingredients?
How can I get your ingredients?I want to start up my own matte lipgloss business.
Hello do you offer product formulation classes
What can I add to make it more of a satin matte?
The matte base 2 it says in the description.
Can you tell me the exact liquid and dry colors included in this kit ? I want to make an orange based red lipstick with a touch of brown . I’d prefer it to be a silky matte formula that’s more moisturizing, but still stays on well . Is that possible ? Trying to decide whether to buy the kit , or just the base and Red , orange and brown dyes or pigments . Don’t really need any mica . Thank you . Love your voice and accent . So relaxing to hear you talk 😊
The kit contains Red D&C No. 6 Lake Liquid, Red D&C No. 7 Lake Liquid, Red D&C No. 40 Powder, Blue FD&C No. 1 Powder, Yellow FD&C No. 5 Powder, Iron Oxide Brown Liquid, and 7 different micas.
Here is the link to the website: www.makingcosmetics.com/Matte-Liquid-Color-Lipstick-Kit_p_1185.html
Do you only need Base lipstick The group is complete؟؟؟؟!
Wow it's Awsome
CAN I USE OTHER DRY PIGMENTS ??
what is lipstick base
HOW DO I MAKE IT LIQUID ?
How can I buy it
Can this base be mixed with powder dc lake colors? And can it also be mixed with scented oils? If so does this effect it being kids proof?
Using also dry colors e.g. D&C red 6, 7, 40 (www.makingcosmetics.com/Organic-Dry-Colors_c_35.html) is only recommended if a more intense, vibrant color is needed. When using dry colors make sure they are mixed into the base very thoroughly for a uniform color! Also, the base will then most likely not be totally smudge proof as we have not come across a product that is just that.
hi thanks for this wonderful video. can it be ok without any preservative?? i am making lipsticks. but after some days they smells like some old oil. what should i do now.. i did not add any antioxidant.. my base was vees wax, candilila wax, carnauba wax, plus oils like castor oil, almond oil, avocado oil, coconut oil. base was perfect. then i mix colors and micas in base and melt .then pour in container to het harden. all goes well.but after some days they smell like some rancid oil
Add B H T _ butylated hydroxy toluene
You'd have to add a strong antioxidant like vitamin E (www.makingcosmetics.com/Vitamin-E-dl-alpha-tocopherol_p_325.html) to avoid the oils become rancid.
@@Makingcosmetics thank you for reply
We have never tried that. But I guess it will leave the coffee grinder totally messy and pigmented....
MakingCosmetics do u have to use red or can u use any color
Can I add ingredients like flavor and anything like cocoa butter to moisturize lips ?
You can add flavors but if you add butters and oils the consistency and viscosity of the base will change.
Anfeernee Munoz you can melt cocoa butter and add it, just add it to the butters phase
I have bought the no 2 matte liquid lipstick, I have followed these steps but it hasn’t dried matte? Any recommendations would be great
It says on the site that the no.2 doesn't really dry down matte, it dries to a more satin finish. You have to get the no.1 for the full matte finish. Can you tell me how the base texture feels? Is it creamy and smooth ? I wanna purchase
how do you make it more pigmented? looks very sheer
If a more intense, vibrant color is needed we recommend using also dry colors e.g. D&C red 6, 7, 40 (www.makingcosmetics.com/Organic-Dry-Colors_c_35.html), for example, together with liquid pigment dispersion. The more you dilute the base with liquid dispersions the more it may affect the smudge resistance and vibrancy
Hello.I’m in Ghana how do I get your ingredients because they don’t ship to Ghana
Hello
i am making lipstick with iron oxide pigments but they got sticky after some days. rest all dye colors are ok. but oxide pigments got very sticky and thick in texture. is ot becasue i used too much quantity or any other issue where i am doing wrong
Ideally, D&C colors (www.makingcosmetics.com/Organic-Dry-Colors_c_35.html) are used for making cosmetics rather than iron oxides.
No, you don't need any oils. When using our lipstick base you only need to add pigments (www.makingcosmetics.com/Organic-Liquid-Colors_c_36.html)
How come the links don't work?
Please contact us anytime through our website if you need help with your recipe.
Do I have to use the mica colours or can I just use the base and dye?
We recommend to use liquid D&C colors (www.makingcosmetics.com/Organic-Liquid-Colors_c_36.html) and only Micas (www.makingcosmetics.com/Micas_c_34.html) if you want to add glimmer.
Sent interieur use in dis
Can I make this ingredients and steps on my small lipstick business? Is that okay?
Yes, of course.
Hello 👋 I got I question do you have to put oil in lipstick 💄????
Most lipsticks contain oils and waxes and no water.
So should I use oxides for more pigmentation??
For more intense colors we recommend to use dry D&C colors (www.makingcosmetics.com/Organic-Dry-Colors_c_35.html)
Will any of y’all base work on lipgloss ?
Hi where I buy this products to make my own matte lipstick
You can buy them here: www.makingcosmetics.com/Makeup-Lipstick-Bases_c_148.html
The matte bases are not on the site anymore. Have they been discontinued?
Hi, they are currently not available, but only for a few weeks, should be back around August 10.
hi is it possible to add flavourings to this mixture?
Yes, you can add flavors. You can buy them here: www.makingcosmetics.com/Flavors_c_78.html
No, the base doesn't contain any preservatives. Cosmetic products that don't contain any water usually don't have a preservative. Bacteria and mold require water to grow.
Can you do a video on how to make the lips gloss for the tubes and a mascara?
Can it be heated?? Im having a hard time getting it into the syring..any suggestions?
why does it oxides in my tubes???
Hello..what is the lipstick base made off?
Hello, all ingredients within this lipstick base can be found on the product page www.MakingCosmetics.com
On the mica can it be any mica not the ones in the video, thank yoh
Yes, pretty much any mica.
Can I make my own product with the items to sell my own lipstick
Yes, you can. No problem.
For the color can i use food coloring?
We've never tried food colors. So, I can't tell. We use exclusively cosmetics colors (www.makingcosmetics.com/Colors-Color-Blends_c_31.html)
How long does items take to ship ?
It's in stock and can be shipped immediately.
how can I make this matte base dry quicker? (It drys well but takes too long). What other formula can I add to it?
Dominique freeman I agree it takes forever to dry 😓
maybe a little more isododecane?
ChrisMichael Mua how long does it take
Kaolin clay
Yes agree takes forever to dry
Wahhhhhh why don't you ship to australia
We do ship to Australia.
Where to buy the colorant?
You can buy them here: www.makingcosmetics.com/Colors-Color-Blends_c_31.html
You can find the base here: www.makingcosmetics.com/Signature-Matte-Liquid-Lipstick-Base_p_1135.html
Can these be placed in a mold?
Yes, once melted you can pour it into a mold.
What sort of mould were you thinking of?
What’s the lipstick shelf life ?
18-24 months
is the final product non drying?
The final product is not drying
Thank you. Btw, is it easily removable as well?
Yes, easily removable
It is very smudge proof, so you don't need to re-apply often. But can be taken off with an emollient based cleanser or a makeup dissolving product like we have a formulation for, on our website.
If the lips are exfoliated before applying it's not drying, however if you will feel it's a bit drying we suggest to apply a lip balm over the lip stick, once dry.
Is it vegan, gluten free and parabens free
Yes, all of that.
To achieve a matte do you have to add a liquid colorant? Or can you just do a mica power? Iam asking so i can know before purchase 😊
MakingCosmetics i see theres 3 different liquid colorants, is there a color chart available or how to know what liquid to mix with the mica in order to make the desired color?
A color chart is available upon purchase of one of the lipstick bases.
MakingCosmetics i purchased bases a few days ago didn't receive a chart
Please contact us via the contact us page on website and we will gladly send you a color chart.
You can buy all the ingredients at www.makingcosmetics.com
Helo, I have a question. Do we have to use the Colorants from your company or can we substitute with another colorant brand. I have some of TKB Trading's Colorants. Will those work until I purchase the Colorants from your store later/soon?
i used just liquid color and my liquid mattes are a bit sticky do i need a powder?
Powdered pigments are very strong and create very intense coloring. You'd have to use only a tiny little bit.
MakingCosmetics so do you think that’s why my mattes are coming out sticky?
Can I make these with my own logo and sell them??
Yes, absolutely.
TheVoiceInMyHead did you try it hun??
