    Yes please to a lip product video! I found this video after taking a serious look at how much I spend on indie makeup. Do you make duochromes and multichromes? I would guess you just mix different iridescent shades together but I’ve never done it.

    That was a beautiful tutorial and looks very easy. Do you have to use a binder or can you just use the glycerin, alcohol and aloe Vera ?

    I want to start making eyeshadows. But I'm getting REALLY confused. I've been watching video after video and everyone keeps saying you need all this extra stuff (glycerin, aloe, etc.) But the video that TBK has on their website they say all you need is the pigments of your choice and their liquid binder. They also have a powder binder. I'm SOOOOOOOO confused!!! Please help!!!!!

      From what I've researched, in addition to the micas you're gonna need a liquid binder and a powder base.
      Liquid binders: glycerin and aloe are in this category along with the TKB liquid binder, however the TKB one is a silicone blend and doesn't go rancid so if I had access to TKB I'd get that one. Fractionated coconut oil is also good to use. Glycerin shouldn't be used from what I've read cos the shadows are gonna be prone to moldiness.
      Powder binders: titanium dioxide, serecite mica, etc. TKB's powder base is one of these, it's a mix of different powders. These guys help the eyeshadow look more opaque and silky, cos micas alone don't feel and perform nicely on the skin. Mattes have different powder bases from shimmers. Hope this helped, and good luck! :)

      @@midnightdreamer00 thank you for the information. I purchased a bunch of pigments (from TKB) and the powder binder and liquid binder. I followed the instructions on the TKB website and my shadows came out like shit 😭😭 They didn't press nicely. They had no opacity and the staying power was awful. I swatched it on the back of my hand and it wiped right away 😭😭 I'm going to have to try and play around with it again. I thought ordered everything I needed, but I guess I didn't 😒 This is what I purchased: (from TBK)
      My Mix Press Base (powder), Magnesium Myristate, Magnesium Stearate, Zinc Stearate, My Mix Pressing Medium (liquid), Dimethicone 1.5, Preservative Cap 2, Preservative Cap 5, tin pans, pressing ribbon, measuring scoops, pressing tile, tampering tool, clamshell containers.
      I REALLY thought I purchased everything I needed 😭😭 I don't know what to do. I followed the recipe on TKB Trading website and it didn't work out. I found recipes that were chock full of alcohol (which I HATE) and they didn't work out. I spent $100 on all of the supplies. I was REALLY hoping for some good results 😭

      @@i_bleed_makeup1187 Aww I'm really sorry to hear that. It'll take a few test runs and some ruined eyeshadows for sure, but I'm sure you'll get there!
      Now from a quick glance at what you have, I have two ideas. 1, it's kinda surprising that the TKB powder base doesn't have this but your base needs some titanium dioxide. This is what helps make the shadows look more opaque and less dusty from my own experimentations.
      The other idea is er, the lack of alcohol lol. Isopropyl alcohol is definitely necessary imo to help your liquid binder spread around into the nooks and crannies of your powders. It evaporates completely from the product though, it isn't the same type of alcohol that's in skincare products (that's called a fatty alcohol). If you don't wanna use alcohol you'd need to mix the liquid binder into the powders very very well to make sure all the powder is covered with binders. Maybe you can use the ziploc bag method: put everything inside bag, drop binders within the bag but make sure the binders don't ball up together cos that makes it harder to mix, and then squish for like 10 mins lol. And then put it into pan and press really hard! The softer the press the more flyaway powders (like the ABH Subculture controversy) so use a lot of strength! 💪

      @i_bleed_makeup1187 3 роки тому

      @@midnightdreamer00 thank you so much. I think I'm going to try the baggie technique. I have 91% isopropyl alcohol. I also think I'm going to have to place another order for the titanium dioxide. I also see a lot of people using the TKB Mattw Texture base. I'm honestly not too worried about the opacity because I'm trying to make some sheer eyeshadow toppers. I got some shifty mica shades for just that purpose. I'm having the most trouble with adhesion (they wipe right away/won't stick to the skin) 😭

    • @midnightdreamer00
      @midnightdreamer00 3 роки тому +2

      @@i_bleed_makeup1187 Also I'd suggest doing the basic recipe first for a test run! 10-20% powder base, maybe like 3 drops of liquid binder (more just makes it press into a hard pan from what I've read), and 80% of the pigment you wanna use. Mix like you've never mixed before (harder than it seems, which is why people like to use isopropyl alcohol), and then scoop into the pan and press.

      @@douniabelaid792 aloe and glycerin do not belong in cosmetic products not intended to remain liquid, cream or gel. They certainly never belong in pressed cosmetics, or you get fungal formation, bacteria retention and likely rust from the pans, plus a possibly squishy product.
