Insted of syrup it was much better if you had used candy board because exclude robbing problems! Michael beekeeper from Roumania.
Very interesting. Might hinder comb production. robbing isn't really an issue i've found because they have basically a one bee entrance. I'm all for experimenting though.
Nice footage from a few years back. Principle remains the same today !
Tip :
I would add a little Float into that Syrup Chamber to stop the Bees from drowning in that 1:1
Eg use a few Twigs, a bit of Straw, even an Iced Lolly Stick, since it's 100f in the Shade. 😎

I realise this was a long time ago, but when you put bees from another hive in, do they accept the queen cell right away? I thought they might destroy it as it's not their own? I'm going to use this method this year so am gathering up as much info as I can. Cheers
No they will accept queen cells and virgin queens very easily, especially queen cells 100%. The key is having a small hive. Even the most aggressive hive can be requeened successfully if you take them down to a 5 frame nuc and have no open brood for them to requeen themselves.
