I sent the step stool when you were working on and painting the Mack. You were using those barstools and didn't want to see you get hurt falling off one. Not a big deal, just glad you got it. The last box I sent you there is a pillow for Yenko in the bottom to replace that cushion thing next to you, or wherever you think it would be best for him to use.
Duffy you have Cadillac dreams but pinto income! Have you ever heard of a 3pt sprayer? You don't farm enough nor have the fields for a rogator. Also, why spend that when you can get one with a 40 or 60ft boom with a 300-gallon tank for 7500$ used!!! And you could run your saddle tanks and do 2x the acres of a self-propelled and not have the expenses of another motor or a sprayer. Go look up schaben and demco 3pt sprayers. If your smart you would go this route.
Dad used to have a 1,000 and 500 gallon poly tank, put in the back of the old 16' grain truck, go 5 miles to local town, 300 people, and fill out of fire hydrant. Always a different one every year, we was flushing them for the city, paying for the water, so it wasn't a waste to the city. Saved our private well! Maybe an idea for you eventually? Where was Yenko, not a sprayer dog??
Rapp them squares and have bailige for the cows ,work lights for the 4640 that's good ,spraying corn, yes, the corn is looking good .Aron needs to slow down and not run with candles light at both ends ,lol farming is always go go and go, well, my friend have a good day .
The hay will be ok,when animals are hungry in the winter, they will eat it.🇮🇪☘️👏👏👏chris dont be so negative, your doing the best you can,as you say mother nature can be cruel, but you will succeed.Thats why hay here in Ireland is almost gone, our weather mostly rainy,so farmers make grass silage and wrap it large doughnuts.
40-60ft atv sprayer would work pretty good for you. That's all we used to use on our 1k acre farm in mi until we picked up a apache. Its a 40ft 200 gallon top air. We pulled it with a $300 suzuki vitarra (chevy tracker) and it worked really well. We still occasionally use it when it's real wet.
It's your money, but a nice red ball pull type with gps would be pretty efficient for your operation. Doesn't seem like your going after corn yield aggressively so it's not like running over a few more plants on turn row is an issue
Make a square tube under the sadle tank, just a litle bit bigger than the forks. Put the fork half in it and you can slide the tank around whiteout breaking your back
Least you got yours cut down I still have first cutting standing, I’m getting so much rain and Michigan. You can’t afford to cut the hay, but I’m going to have to cut it and just make it for goatscows pig, bedding, mushroom barn
I love watching your channel and I know you have a dairy background. You don't have to bed those cows. Maybe in the winter but not really live your good life sorry that I tried to boss you just a suggestion.
@@kentkeller5211 I think Chris is very motivated and don't want nock how someone runs their operation. I think it must be a dairy thing to bed everything all the time because there is no required reason to bed them cows or pigs not in the summer anyway.
Hi Chris Geoff here in Australia love your blogs, you should not second ges your self too much we all know farming is lottery. Sorry about the ars/ho---- that let you down with the cattle I've had run ins with a few of them too, they don't realise how much it can disrupt your life. Anyway you will come through like you always do, as far as you buying a self propelled spraying machine I think it's a good idea when you get your work done you could look at contracting to other people and that would be more income 😊 have a good day regards Geoff
You should check into a 3point hitch sprayer you already have the tanks on your tractor and you wouldn’t have any extra tires knocking down corn you should be able to find one cheap which is good for starting out farming
Wet spot planting is seed suicide as you saw. Nice how folks send you gifts. I would like some company to create and send you an Ag assistant robot . So when you need a second pair of hands "Cabot" comes to your assistance. 👍👍👍36:09
My first sprayer i bought in the 90s was a 3 point that i put it on a 4640 it was 50' had saddle tanks like yours was a nice rig could you clean one of your tankers use it for a water tender
I agree that used rogators can be had for a decent price the thing that scares me about used sprayers is if you end up putting a lot of money into the hydro system. I know of a couple farms that have put 15-20 thousand into pumps and drive motors
Chris have you thought about taking some of your scrap steel you have and making stanchions for the two side tanks to stand on so they are not laying on the ground in the end it'll be easier for you to pick them back up and mount them back on the tractor. And I know it's too late but food for thought for next year if you have those big IBC totes you can put water in them on your trailer so when you drive to the other land you have the water on hand
Man I hope you get along with that pond water. You shouldn't use pond water because of the algae it will plug up your filters and nozzles and put algae in the tank. On your spring I have put a tile line up through the spring and put a intake in where you think the middle is and it will dry it right up.

They say in farming if you don't like the weather it will change next year. Here in the piedmont of nc we are burned up little rain and temperatures 95 to 100 humidity unbearable
You? Should do a soil test after a couple years of using source so you can compare from when you first started to now To see. How the soil has reacted over the years of using it
I make small squares a couple hours west of you. Had hay on the ground for 2 weeks due to the weather man. Sure is discouraging selling hay for a buck 50 a bale. I lost thousands.
South of you guys have a pile of mulch that had it not been for rain wouldve been worth 5-6k now 80$ a ton if you can get in to mulch place but 9/10 have their contracts full already

U could bale in wrap tho. Silage bales🤩😅 but yea weather is not easy great video as allways🤩
Just a warning on cheap sprayers they can get real expensive really quick all it takes is a wheel motor or hydro pump
Make a square tube under the sadle tank, just a litle bit bigger than the forks.
Put the fork half in it and you can slide the tank around whiteout breaking your back
You might be ableto find a pickup sprayer from a local co op cheaper than a Rogator or even find a Spray Coupe they will all do a good job
