my local fish store has a couple kessil a80s on their instore pico tanks that are covered in salt and still functioning perfectly. I'm wondering if maybe you got a lemon? ...
Kessils are trash 🗑! Bought three A360X for about $1200+. Two died after about 3 years. 3rd one about to. Unacceptable for a $400+ light. Plus you have to pay for everything controls, wifi control and brackets and even angle extension. Doesn't matter if light looks nice but don't work! Chinese one came with everything mounting bracket ,wifi remote .... Chinese one have better design than the kessil's .for instance kessil have 3 mounting holes while the Chinese Led has a sliding cut out. Light can be angled . Wifi Remote control included . Priced about 1/3 and corals seems to be doing fine so far.
I wouldn’t do 100% I know ppl doing high on blue and 26% on white over a 265 gallon. He went up higher and started burning stuff but he has a different brand.
Hi, one question please: As i'm a blue light lover, how many percent of white do i have to ad at minimum? Would 5% white and 80% be ok or is it to less white and i might kill my corals with this setting?
You can have a much white as you want or all blue but Bright blue enough for the corals. The white is mostly for growing them faster but also grows algae. The bluer the better colors they develop and less algae growth but less coral growth also. If you want to keep your corals relatively small. Try to keep it at a 20k spectrum
Why would you ever do that to your corals bro? Kessils are the absolute best! Especially for colors in your corals..You'll figure that out later though, must be your first year reefing. But with what your growing with the all softies n some lps. Any light will keep them alive. Good luck with everything and I hope that you'll come back to kessil soon. Nice video!
@@blackriz3790 A80 is pure trash I know I had 2 of them not bright enough for a 29 gallon. Barely good on a 10 gallon. These Chinese brands do circles around that A80 you will be surprised I was big time. Cree leds also no joke.
@@hhinojosareef1 could you recommend a good cheap light for a 25gallon tall bubble tank (Aquavision c25)???? I’ve bought two this far and I hate them both. My last was a Finnex Marine 2.
@@BonesSaw1979 I ended up buying the Kessil a80 with the remote. It’s been okay but knowing what I know now, I would’ve gotten reef brite led strips. They put out more par than most high dollar lights and they’re about the same if not cheaper than what I paid for my Kessil set up.
I botched out a slit on the bottom of the rock, it sits on the backside of the aquarium with the slit. Hard to explain, I’ll have to put it in a future video!
Wish I could agree with you but the light you have from Amazon is not the best I have the very same actually buying the kessil A80 kessil is always the best I think you just had bad luck in general with you light. I have pretty much any kessil you can think of except the refugium and I love them.
Smatfarm led from what I have heard from a lot of ppl that have had kessil and or hydra ai is very similar to the high end ridiculously priced Kessil! Puts out really good color and not that disco effect. I know quite a few ppl that also had problems with kessil. Kessil isn’t good for costumer service period. Plus the fact all these leds come from China. You could buy 4 units to one kessil. Friend of mine has the cheaper version like you and been running 5 years and grows coral like crazy.
Imo Kessil became trash both the products and company over the years. I ended up getting the ecotech radions. Yea radions are pricey but at least with it you can use it for a 5gallon pico all the way up to 100gallon cube.

Clowns usually hang out in a small area of the tank, that is their territory. They don't require lots of space.
I really dig the air plants up top. Nice video and nice channel!
Thank you very much! 🙏
What is your setting on aqua Knight I have one they don't look like that??
what are the light settings you have it set at?

you know maroons get way bigger right? like 6 inches
Try keeping the camera still for more than two seconds
The A80 is meant to sit 4" above the water line according to Kessil's documentation. I see most people hang it way higher and experience problems.
Im looking to buy the A80 for my 29gal. From what im seeing it's a better upgrade then this cheap product
