I noticed you said you use mars aqua on your 40 gallon reef tank. I have some on my reef tank and I was wondering what brightness you have the whites and blues at. I want to start adding corals to my tank, but I'm not sure what brightness to set the lights at.

@@MASSAquariums I tried to mount to chamber two. Not long enough to reach the center and don’t wanna mount it to the back glass so.....I got an AI Prime. The AI Prime with a mount is just as expensive as the kessil with mount and controller with less than a 10 dollor difference.
Any updates on the light? I have that light on my tank but I’ve ready forums saying that it’s insufficient for the fluval 13.5 so I’m worried it might now be enough for my corals but they seem to be doing fine. Also what settings do you keep your light on? I don’t have a controller, I use the knobs on top but I usually gradually get it to 50/55% intensity most of the day and probably 20% on the color. Do you think I should slowly do a higher intensity or would that be too much?
I like the light so far. Yeah I would slowly ramp it up to close to 90% over a week or two

Hey! Im a beginner, i have a 10 gallon. im just wondering, i have this light and i have it all yhe way blue and the intensity set to the max, is that too much? And can my coral survive off of just the blue? I wonder because the coral loom very beautiful under the blue light
They usually need to adjust but they also need the white light as well
I've heard before the throw on this light wouldn't even accommodate a standard 10 gallon tank. What are your thoughts on that?

I'd be more worried about intensity in the end, 2 of these would work width and depth coverage. Although, for a 40B you have the ability for a lot of different corals and the price of a fatter kessil you'd be able to take on anything in the future.
I am so confused abiut kessils. I cant find any mention on wattage ect on any of there lights. I am using for 1 36 gallon but plans on upgrading to a 120 soon, so was just going to use 1 or 2 lights now then add several more. The price of these is so reasonable for kessil!! LOL The 360 x is like 500 buck a light! I thought I saw these were 150.00 or something. What is the difference between them? Goes mats aqua compare? I was looking at that and hipagaro's newer one that is better than the cheap one. I think its 85 watts. Wonder how that compares to kessils watts or ai prime even, I was planning on splug;ing a ;little with my lights since I got some used tanks and great deals and 1,000.00 of free corals from uniqu but man these prices! So would love to find something in the middle. I have surrent orbit now on small tank but dosnt put out much par and i have a biocube too and same with that!
Try AI Prime. I heard they were good
Debating this light or the prime for my evo. Found a custom made lid on Facebook for the evo, I’d be weary of topless tank.

The stock evo light is pretty much good for any corals you would want in that tank it's 80-230 par for sandbed up to the highest area a person would likely put corals (5 inches from top) otherwise it goes way higher for par. I don't know why people are wasting money getting lights for the evo when they haven't even tested the par for themselves lol. You can get a 445nm blue 5W waterproof led strip that sticks onto the hood if you want more blue and more par too from ebay for 17 dollars including shipping. The hood also drastically reduces evaporation and dust in the tank and you don't have all that light bleeding everywhere around the tank and in your eyes which most people don't want from an overhead light. Why? Because the evo is the type of tank you have in an office or on a desk or close to you or your bed or couch so a overhead light is extremely annoying so close because the light isn't contained.

That wire really looks tacky hanging off the top!. I basiaclly have to get these lights since i onlyhave 4 1/2 inches of clearance above tank beacuse of kitchen cabinets! I was wanting to go with ai primes but watched the brs review at at 6 inch height the hot spot was around 450 and right next to it drops to 130 and along front and back drops to 8 in one corner and 20's! How insane is that! Basically renders that light unusable at that height. I have seen this light used low and also fluval makes a 20 watt that has even par at low heights and they also have an identical strip. Same colors like cyan, viloet which current strip only has blue starting at 445 nm! I read violet is very impotant for Chloropylla A which in turn is important for growth and colorpop! I know this dosnt have violet but have read some accentinic has 420 nm. I have read lots of reviews on great growth and color for these light which I have only read one review, actually a youtube about good growth and color! I certainly dont feel its worth 100 bucks for a controller with only 2 colors! Do you know if I use a timer and it goes off can I turn it back on just to run blues at night? I dont know If I can achieve some kind of ramp down with timers. Maybe 2 of them! I was looking into reef bright strips but so far only saw white and scared if I paint black it will chip! How has color and growth been. Do you know of any other light I can use with only 4 1/2 inches of clearance? Love your channel. long time subscriber!
