Mr. Walker is a great man. I heard a story once..of when an old KKK member, life-long, saw Mr. Walker play some games at Georgia..and then went to the campus to meet him. The old man found H.W. in the walking-crowd, who knows how. But the dude found H. And then apologized to him. ..God works in mysterious ways? Ever hear it? We're born dumb, and it's up to us, each and every one of us, to just learn and learn and keep learning. ..Wracks your brain; it doesn't seem to make any sense.. It is sad and tragic; sometimes the bad resolves itself into the good Miracles do happen: trust. ..I've seen some myself. Godspeed to you all. ..Keep working. Much love.
This is more like every play from 2 games more than it is a highlight reel of a career. It is hard to find any Herschel Walker material though and a lot of this footage looks a lot like game tapes rather than broadcast footage.
As a life long Alabama fan, I will say Hershel Walker is the greatest football player of all time. Whoever you think is better, think about it. I know there are stupid and rabid fans. Them aside, objectively, he was the greatest. And a fine man too.
He was my idol !!! When i played , his workouts made me the top player that i was !!! To you young guy's , fallow his workouts and you will be a a real force to deal with 💪✨
The most impressive freshman running back in history hands down, he looked NFL and everyone else looked high school... Of course Bo Jackson, Sanders, peyton were great, but let's keep it real on big plays and speed size and power...
I wish he had went into the NFL under the right system because he should be in the NFL Hall of Fame. Him & Bo Jackson was just a like but Bo Jackson was on a much better NFL team. H.W. should've been on Denver with John Elway.
Here is a man who gave his best for Georgia, NFL, Track and America loved him. Now America is laughing at him and digging up his life and saying he can't make a complete sentence. The O Jays had a song, and it was called Wake up Everybody.
Herschel's touchdowns always looked funny because after scoring he would turn around to hi-five his teammates.... but no one was there and he'd have to wait for like 10 seconds before anyone finally arrived LOL!
As a UGA fan, I believe it would be a GREAT idea for Coach Smart to play re-runs of this team...to show our current team what TRUE GRIT is! They had a lot of close calls in their 1980 season...plus NOBODY expected them to win the National Championship. They worked as a TEAM and had a very cohesive group...and some great talent, too. Buck Belue's passing is impressive...the blocking is good...Rex Robinson's kicking game was awesome...(too many players to mention them all). They fought to the finish in EVERY game in 1980(coming from behind in several games)...which paid off at the Sugar Bowl. Todd Gurley had NOTHING on Herschel Walker. I wonder why today's players suffer SO many injuries? These guys must have had better conditioning or something.
I appreciated the write-up, but you went slightly overboard with your praise of Buck Belue. Lindsey Scott made him look much better than he actually was. You were right about the blocking though. That line blew open some huge holes for Walker.
Yeah, Herschel ran the ball almost all the time and he never seemed to tire and just kept going even after all those carries. Lol... I know there were a lot of teams that just dreaded playing against him.
He reminds me of a clip I saw of a cheetah just running past all of these running gazelles, his speed is incredible. He's a train. Strength+speed=power.
He juggled 3 little pigs while jumping fences to train. Then he let them go and got in his cardio. Walker would bench press a horse, but never generic weights. He was a freak from farm living.
The amazing statistic was the 994 carries. Herschel's superpower was his durability, and the unbelievable ability to do it when everyone on the field knew he was getting the ball, with no passing game or misdirection to speak of.
Watch very carefully... and you'll see #24 (Lindsey Scott) downfield throwing blocks on a HUGE number of Herschel's long runs. What a great, unselfish teammate.
I'm an Auburn fan, but I love to watch this Guy play. My Grandaddy was a Georgia Grad, and I recall the days of dovehunting, Larry Munson and Vince Dooley.
You never saw him showboating because he was about team and not himself. He always gave credit to the linemen who blocked for him and to God who gave him the talent.
I seen Herschel play live once. It was like watching a grown ass man against Pop Warner players. Not to take ANYTHING away from Herschel because he is the best but that O line created some massive holes for him and then once he got going downhill it was over. No chance of stopping him at that point.
Anybody else notice in the 80s how players would run all the way to the back of tje endzone as if they were so fast they couldnt bring themselves to a stop
In that season, Georgia had a three pronged offense...Herschel left, Herschel right, Herschel up the middle.

Beatiful video very well put together. I love the ending picture it really captures Walker's prowess and ability
It is sad and tragic; sometimes the bad resolves itself into the good
Miracles do happen: trust. ..I've seen some myself. Godspeed to you all. ..Keep working. Much love.
Thanks for the video! Go Dawgs!
only thing missing is the play calling by Munson all the way thru this
Normally I would welcome a Keith Jackson football call but Munson would have been better even over the great Keith jackson
This man ran a 4.22 that's .22 miliseconds short of the speed of light!
This is more like every play from 2 games more than it is a highlight reel of a career. It is hard to find any Herschel Walker material though and a lot of this footage looks a lot like game tapes rather than broadcast footage.
Herschel Walker is the Goat. No matter what anyone says that bo or others are better. He is the best and he still looks like he can play today
As a life long Alabama fan, I will say Hershel Walker is the greatest football player of all time. Whoever you think is better, think about it. I know there are stupid and rabid fans. Them aside, objectively, he was the greatest. And a fine man too.
This dudes does 1200 push ups, 1500 body squats and 2000 crunches daily.
He did this before games.
This is a X man in disguise or something :-)
Tone B how and who does 1200 push ups every day??? sheesh😬
RUN HERSCHEL RUN🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
Didn't know Walker was like this 🗣🤯
He was my idol !!! When i played , his workouts made me the top player that i was !!! To you young guy's , fallow his workouts and you will be a a real force to deal with 💪✨
Damnnnnnn I wish Herschel would have came back for his Senior year at Georgia and I am a Oklahoma Fan.
Jay-Rock Donald Trump screwed up Hershel’s career.
Don’t forgot he wasted some time on trumps football team.
No one jumped over the goal line like Herschel. Man amongst boys.
Here is a man who gave his best for Georgia, NFL, Track and America loved him. Now America is laughing at him and digging up his life and saying he can't make a complete sentence. The O Jays had a song, and it was called Wake up Everybody.
If you cherry picking the personal traits of a person, you can make anyone seem like a great human being!! However, it doesn't work that way!!
I am a Oklahoma fan... But I grew up watching Herschel.... I wish he would have stayed his senior year
He went pro so he could buy his mama a house and ensure she could have a worry free life.
@@bw3240 don't blame him best reason in the World to leave
One of maybe ten RB’s to out run the angle.
Walker was unbelievable.
Herschel's touchdowns always looked funny because after scoring he would turn around to hi-five his teammates.... but no one was there and he'd have to wait for like 10 seconds before anyone finally arrived LOL!
I like this Walker guy. For some reason I think he should be a senator.
What I like about Hershel is his modesty, no big celebration after a TD, just hands the ball to the Ref
yes like, "HERE...ILL BE BACK" 🏈
Incredible prowess for a back his size... speed, shiftiness, nimbleness, acceleration, agility... He had it all.
A class act
God I wish I was alive in that era to see him play
It was absolutely awesome!!!
I was, and it was a thing of beauty, even though my team lost.
Saw his play every home game at Georgia and several away games including the win against ND for the 1980 national championship. Hell of an athlete.
Lol... I know there were a lot of teams that just dreaded playing against him.
yes that would be incredibly smart, to give the young men a piece of a legendary team that they have the capability to become
Herschel Walker and Bo Jackson..best 2 ever

Unbelievable RB!!!
The best player in Dawg history. Loved watching him.
He reminds me of a clip I saw of a cheetah just running past all of these running gazelles, his speed is incredible. He's a train. Strength+speed=power.
The greatest SEC back ever.
@Pablo Lopez He’s in the conversation. Idk who the goat is overall.
Amazing vision,speed,balance,explosive power,elusiveness
2:44 watch LB #57 change his angle even when Herschel is 7 yards behind him...takes the widest angle he could and still got smoked.
He was all muscle so strong and brutally fast
cody white I heard that he still does a thousand push-ups and fifteen hundred sit-ups a day well into his fifties.
Byron Warner I bet he’s still in badass shape
He juggled 3 little pigs while jumping fences to train. Then he let them go and got in his cardio. Walker would bench press a horse, but never generic weights. He was a freak from farm living.
He was awesome but I saw some really great blocking too.
You don't hear of too many Dooley's. That's my last name.
Rest In Peace Vince Dooley.
Makes me think of my dad.
Me too.
You never saw him showboating because he was about team and not himself. He always gave credit to the linemen who blocked for him and to God who gave him the talent.
I miss Keith Jackson and Pat Summerall on the broadcast, they really made the game exciting.
MrSuckafree247 yes they did. nuthin like good commentators
One of the most underrated of all time
HE BY FAR IS ONE THE GREATEST RUNNING BACKS OF ALL-TIME!
