I STILL have quite a few of those albums. Bought them when they were released and keep them to this day. Probably only about 500 left, as I gave away quite a few over the years. About 20 years ago I went through some albums like that in a crate in a mall, just browsing. My eye caught the guy next to me going through a crate and seeing an album I had searched for for years. I had to stand there and pray that he did not take it. Luckily for me, he left shortly after that and I was able to grab it. The excitement of finding gems was fun.

Thanks for your comments. It’s nice to get feedback from people that actually bought them when they were first released. I know that feeling of waiting to get in the box and hoping the person in front of you does not take what you want. As you say exciting times. Good hunting.

It’s a little bit of luck and a lot of hours spent wasted looking through boxes of junk. For every good record I find I must have looked at 3000 rubbish ones. I spent a few hours going through a collection of 10,000 dusty old records this week and did not buy one. They came from a house clearance but it looked like the guy collected boot sale leftovers for years. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.

The best time to buy vinyl was when CDs got big and people dumped their records...earlier 90s

This may have been someone’s collection. I always wonder with finds like this, What happened to the person who owned these at one time…. I think of my own collection possibly, one day, in the hands of Salvation Army workers after I drop. What will become of all those precious memories? I’m sure this collection has a history….
Good for you, cherish them till ya drop!

The bro definitely cleaned up. Jackets were in fantastic condition. It used to be like that in Brisbane Australia but the heat the floods compact discs claimed alot of good stuff. Now the dealers are moaning there aren't any good collections to be had. Unfortunately its only going to get worse with the explosion of new vinyl music fans and at 50 to 80 bucks aud for new LPs its a game for ones with deep pockets.

@@thevinylvault Cool. Sabbath records are usually a bit trashed esp Paranoid. Check for the Big Bear credit in the inner gatefold! Tough at the car boots in the South West. I find sellers tend to hoover most decent stuff if there is a gap between sellers setting up and buyers getting let in. Missed a load of hard rock this weekend due to this. Maybe your selling too so you are getting first dibs?

All over the place. I must admit finds like these are rare. I do put in a lot of hours looking for records so don’t assume it’s easy. I spend most of my time looking through rubbish. I spent hours just last week looking through 10,000 records and did not buy one. Good hunting.
