Kai, Thanks for all your help!!! Awesome treatment for my Hip Flexor pain (specifically the Medial compartment of thigh area) - the best video I have found on UA-cam!!! FYI: my injury happened last week during a 12 mile run!!! Luckily, I actually have a medicine ball to effectively treat the trigger points in the area. Other videos recommend foam rollers that don't work. I appreciate your clear and to the point explanation in addressing the problem. I will certainly follow you when other injury issues arise.

You are awesome! Keep up the great work! My hip flexor pain is getting better remarkably fast with your Myofascial Release therapy. I cannot wait to get back on the roads running again. I'm totally into doing my Physical Therapy treatments in the privacy of my home.

I am so happy I came across your page. I have a race coming up in 3 weeks and I pulled my groin muscle 2 weeks ago. I an going to try this exercise and hope that I don't have to pull out of my race. Thanks.

Wow!! This really helped me thank you so much. I have been struggling with hip labral tear and all my hip and groin muscles have tightened up as I’ve been trying to walk and stop my hip pain. Post surgery 4 weeks back and physio has been massaging the groin muscles but by my next visit It’s tight again. This has really helped me in between the physio visits and my surgery recovery.

Thank You Kai !.!.! 'Been in pain mgmt, massage and treatments for years, due to an accident... have had adductor "release" (which I don't recommend), hip replacement, dry needle, etc - and this simple technique is better than anything I have tried... now, for full disclosure, I do have some permanent nerve damage in that "area" due to scrambling my hash when the femur was shattered... but ANYTHING that offers even temporary relief is a win for me... and yes, it is uncomfortable - but not nearly as bad as the discomfort without using this technique. Again, thank you very much...

I have been in unbearable pain the entire day due to groin strain. over the counter meds have proved useless and I took recourse to scotch. then I saw this video and tried the prescribed movement albeit with a foam roller. I'm having my first real hope of escaping this mindkilling pain. in a totally agape way, I love you, Kai wheeler. God bless you,

I spent three months hoping a collection of muscle/tendon strains in my hip/groin would go away if I stopped running, but the problems didn't help. Stretching like the one you show in this video and some of your others with the lacrosse ball helped almost immediately however. Thank you very much.

I am a massage therapist and along with encouraging my clients to roll out their adductors on their own, I also feel perfectly comfortable working the area as long as it's within their boundaries. A well-trained massage therapist should be able to effectively work the adductors and their attachments. It's all about good communication and empowerment :)

Wow, this was painful as I did it, but it immediately helped. It is much easier to work with a medicine ball over a foam roller. I will definitely keep up with this, thank you for posting this video!

Wow I am so glad I finally found this video tried at the gym straight after watching this & yes it hurt but I have been in so much pain for over 6 years, I was only doing the front & back on my legs with a roller never thought of doing the inside of my leg.

Hi Kai, I was just blessed to find your site; thank you, I am most grateful. I will be trying this exercise for the groin area which has been extremely tight due to my sciatic issues. I see that I can expect some pain. Do you know how long it could take for this area to stretch? I have been in piano for so long, I need to understand how long I should do it, realistically and if I could cause more problems. Thanks.

Immediate effect thank you Kai. Especially after changing to a softer medicine ball. Just resting adductors on a hard ball was too painful. A bent leg helps.
I am more positive now of a solution to my 2-year struggle with groin pain. My Physio's suggestion of exercycling I hope/think is also helping.
    Regards

Yes, if you do not have access to a lacrosse ball, a foam roller can also be effective. The ball is just a little harder Hope this helps! :)

Hai Kai. I regularly cramp high up, I think in the adductor magnus. I had a hip replacement 5 years ago. What do you think might cause the cramps, and would the myofascial release ease them. Thank you

Have just smashed it kicking a ball, really painful. Don't have a medicine ball at home, but presumably a basketball or football would work as long as you can feel it and chase the pain?

  • @brittneysaxby9198
    @brittneysaxby9198 11 років тому

Isn't this considered more trigger point or static pressure therapy? Myofascial release is more like skin rolling and that.

I pulled my groin a couple of years back playing soccer and stopped playing until last week. It has always been more tender if I for instance squeeze a Bender ball between my legs using more pressure with my right leg. I was wondering if this exercise will help to strengthen my groin area? I hope you understand what I mean? Thanks! :-)
