I have a 2013 Mercedes Benz c300 drove around with no sound for almost 3 years! It stopped working all of a sudden the screen turned on everything you can see the radio stations AM/FM satellite, but you couldn’t hear anything. You can pair it to a Bluetooth. I could call out, but I couldn’t hear anybody on the other side. They could hear me and it was frustrating not knowing what was going on so When it happened I took it to the dealership and they told me that the amp was out basically, the exact same thing that you posted on your video happened to my vehicle THANK YOU for sharing this video it fixed my issue. I bought the fiber optic loop and went ahead and bypassed it BAM 💥 SOUND was restored. Dealer ship wanted to scam me telling me that the amp was out bs ! You keep doing what you do you are awesome 👏
Great video - thanks for sharing your problem solving with us. I will order a jumper and go through the process. One guy on a just answer site had the same problem. The connector pins to the media module had CORROSION on them - he cleaned up the pins and it’s working again. You may like to check the pins for corrosion on yours (sounds like a very common Mercedes problem).
@@Fwerks.1592 There is no power in the media interface module. I guess. But, there are aux and ipod (old) connectors and I don't need them. The Bluetooth works fine.

I have the same model car but my issue is with the CD player, not the radio. The CD player was working fine and then one day it stopped working. I also cannot eject any of the CD's (it holds 6 CD's). If I select CD, it says "unavailable driver". Do you have any suggestions on how to fix this?? I've been trying to fix it for months and there is nothing online on how to resolve this. THANK YOU!!
Sounds like your cd driver is faulty. You definitely need a new head unit, since the cd is “ built” as one unit. There is no way around this. Also I want to remind you, that most communications module controls the Xm, weather band, radio, Cd and The Bluetooth. When I was playing with this module those are all the sources I didn’t get Audio from or the functions would simply not work.
@Fwerks.1892 i just got that same issue today!! So frustrated! I know this is a super old video, but do you remember if the radio needle was stuck on one station? The wheel button by my shifter works for everything except changing the station. Ive also got no sound from the radio and bluetooth doesnt work now either. :( Does that sound like the same problem you had?

Hi, i found your video very useful. Unfortunately i can't get a jumper, unless i ship from US. However, a jumper simply means connecting two wires together right? Like getting a single wire with has two mouth, akd connecting them to the + and - right? And what type of jumper did you use? Name model etc
That is correct! With fiber optic there is no negative or positive wires. Light has to travel through the wire and go back around to the other wire. This is called a loop, once that loop is interrupted, then you have a ring break. @@moeobaidat4101 good stuff!!! Now if you really want that fixed. You would need to order a new most communication module and that will have to be coded to work with the vehicle that’s the only way it will work.

Man, I need help with my 2012 C250. I can not find where the auxiliary battery is located. I have torn the car apart looking for it. I looked in the trunk including the side panels and spare tire. I looked under the front passenger side floor board kick panel, and the driver side dash without finding anything that looks like a battery. I would greatly appreciate any help.
Here are the main locations where the batt can be. Under passenger seat. Behind the driver seat . Trunk- near the fuse box. Left side of the dashboard , behind the side cover of the dash. If it’s not found in any of these locations then chances are, you do not have one equipped on this vehicle.

I live in Maryland and am wondering where you are located. or any mechanic who could fix this for me in the Maryland area!
You would have to match up the parts numbers from your most communications module or look for one that’s exactly your make, model and year. It will usually list which car the module came out of.

I have the NTG 4.5, not sure if this is the same. Mine had no sound, had 4 codes, each channel open or short to ground. Was a IC chip shorted to ground in the speaker output of the head unit.

@@Fwerks.1592 appreciate the response broskii I’m picking up jumper right now and will let you know! If the amp isn’t the problem, does the w205 (2017 c300) have that module under the glovebox like you showed in this video?

I’m sorry for the delay! The Audio system runs in a loop! That means the light has to pass through the fiber optics and go through each module to complete the loop. So when you have a most communication issue, the ring becomes broken and the communication path becomes unusable. So here is how the bypass/ jumper comes into play. In order to confirm if a module is faulty or not you can use the bypass and plug it into the suspected bad module and you should hear sound again if that’s the problem. Once you found the break in the Most loop, you can use the fiber optic jumper / bypass connecter . What this does is basically to remove the faulty module from the network and to replace it with a connecter that “CLOSES” the loop so the light signal can continue its path. Hope this makes sense?

Hello everyone please I need your help with my sound problem on my c350 w204 2012. The radio turns on but the sound comes on for a few seconds and then it cuts off
You have to start testing all these modules individually. I show everything on this video . You will need a bypass fiber optic wire. You can get those on Amazon or Ebay.
Same exact problem here but on my 2010 E550 Coupe. Stopped getting sound & then it worked again randomly for 2 days straight then gave up again on the weekend lol so When I scan the car with Carly I only get 2 fault codes: 1.The wake-up line has a short circuit to ground. -Stored. 2.MOST communication has a malfunction (MOST master reporting ring break)- Current & stored.

That is correct! With fiber optic there is no negative or positive wires. Light has to travel through the wire and go back around to the other wire. This is called a loop, once that loop is interrupted, then you have a ring break. Here is a link to where I got mine.

What exactly am I looking for with the jumper? If there is a light, that is the problem module, or the other way around?
The light travels though the fiber optic. If there is no light that means you have a problem in the Circuit. The fiber optic basically bypasses any bad module and helps complete the circuit. In order for the audio to work the light has to travel through all 5 modules and it goes around in a loop. Hope this makes sense.

Why shouldnt you leave the jumper on? What will happen if you dont program the new part and leave the jumper?
Well nothing will really happen. The only thing is when you scan the vehicle you will get faults for the most communication module.
Was there an issue with voltage getting to the module via the wake up line pin or the power pin? Noticed the code for the anti theft pin, which im assuming is the wake up line?
Bryan, Can you please point out what is the wake-up line pin and theft pin> Please
What are them jumper cables
It is a fiber optic by pass loop. You can get one on amazon.
where can I get that scan tool that you are using? Can that be used to reprogram?
I got this scan tool from ECS Tuning website I believe at the time it was around $1,300. As far as coding this module, I was not able to code it with this specific scanner. There is another scanner on the website that is able to program and do scn coding!
I have a 09 c350 n my back speakers would work then shut off. Only the front ones work. Any idea what it is ?
Sounds like you have issues with the speakers, might also include your amplifier. I would def get some codes pull for the Command unit and infotainment!
Hello, I have a problem and I’m hoping you can help me. I have a 2011 C300 and my AUX option won’t work, I get no sound. I can hear the FM radio, AM, Weather as well as the CD, but the only one that doesn’t work is the AUX. Do you happen to know what I can do to fix that? Thank you in advance.
Interesting question. Is your Aux located in the glove compartment box?
@@Fwerks.1592 yes, the car came with the old school iPod connection 16 pin I believe and a jack both attached to one wire that came with the car. The AUX was working but I think something in the MOST engineering menu was changed but not sure if that was the cause because like I mentioned everything else I can hear fine. I was thinking it’s the MMI cable but I bought a couple and none of them worked so maybe it’s the one inside the one that was replaced in the video.
I have the same problem. No aux audio, did you find a solution??
@@floangg7084 definitely sounds like the most communications module took a crap. That interface controls, the fm, am, Bluetooth, weather band, aux, cd!
@@loraine5240 sorry for the delay, I’d have to check the c300 I have now and see what’s going on. Most definitely I can tell you that sound travels through the fiber optics, that run to the interface module, also the the infotainments in the center, Bluetooth, cd, am, fm and weather band runs to the module. If anything starts acting up it should be the module going bad.
If i do the bypass will i be able to use Bluetooth to listen to music?
@@queenofstyle8979 yes you will be able to listen to your Bluetooth music if you use the bypass loop.
So for me, my audio works but if I turn up the volume at a certain point it causes the sound to go away. Have to keep the car off for a little while before it comes back. Any idea how I can fix that?
Where can I get a jumper what is a jumper

I bought a 2012 E350 off the auction with the same exact problem when I popped my trunk there was no serious satellite module. Like someone took out completely. Is that the problem then for no audio because once I hooked up the one ordered it didn’t change anything
Have you tried hooking it to the connecter that goes to the amp,? Is not hook it to the most communication module”s connecter. Keep me updated!
How can order that jumper

Can you tell us the year of this car
Yes sir! This specific c300 is a 2012 with a 3.0 V6 engine.
Hello, I have a C 300 2008 and my Dvd player has no sound.
How does a jumper work?
@@Fwerks.1592 thats great brither thank you do i need to take out the stereo unit to get to that module?? Im gonna start with the ones in the back as they seem more accesbile leaving the front one for the emd
@@avilaomar10 sounds good! Once you check all the ones in the back move to the one under the glove compartment box. Leave the head radio unit in there for now till you confirm if the module under the glove box is good.
But which option did you lose using that jumper?
Thanks
I had no Audio whatsoever. It didn't matter if it was radio, Bluetooth, Aux or Cd player. When I used the jumper, everything went back to normal!
@@Fwerks.1592 after using jumper, do you have all of them back or you lost some functionality (eg USB).

Then what is the point of that module 🤔
I have b class 2014 not working fuses OK please help
Tengo un problema con un estéreo de un w212, se prende y se apaga solo en todo momento. A la vez los parlantes no suenan y hacen ruido como si golpearas un micrófono. Si puedes guiarme me ayudaría muchísimo colega.
What is the cause of the damage?
Good Morning! the cause of the damage was, the owner removed the top gasket to the windshield. Water then was coming inside the interior every time it rained or went to a carwash.
If the cable bypasses the module and the audio works is it okay to not replace the module and leave the jump cable connected?
You can leave it jumped, nothing will happen. I do recommend get the module replace and coded down the road for sure.
My phone mics stopped working in my e300 w213.
The best thing I can say is try jumping the most communication module and see if you get your mic back.
I have a black command screen and the radio doesn't work. All the fuses are good.
My car has static in and out not constant and the key isn’t in the ignition nor is the radio on
Hello everyone
please I need your help with my sound problem on my c350 w204 2012.
The radio turns on but the sound comes on for a few seconds and then it cuts off
You have to start testing all these modules individually. I show everything on this video . You will need a bypass fiber optic wire. You can get those on Amazon or Ebay.
Awesome Lil brother
Anytime!!!
Thank you very much you solved my problem
I’m glad I was able to help!!!
Great video I just resolve the same exact issues with my vehicle
I’m glad this video was some help! Thank you!
Excellent Video extremely informative helped alot.
Thank you!!🙏
Same exact problem here but on my 2010 E550 Coupe. Stopped getting sound & then it worked again randomly for 2 days straight then gave up again on the weekend lol so
When I scan the car with Carly I only get 2 fault codes:
1.The wake-up line has a short circuit to ground. -Stored.
2.MOST communication has a malfunction (MOST master reporting ring break)- Current & stored.
My phone still connects via wireless bluetooth however when I try plugging it with the iPod connection in the glovebox it won’t read the signal so I’m thinking it’s the media interface module?? The fiber optic loop came in today so hopefully tomorrow I can confirm this issue with the guide you provided 🙏🏽 & hope this solves it! Sucks this module is not plug & play , other forums said it is on the e class but guess we’ll have to see lol thanks again for the guide & if you have any advice or recommendations that’d be appreciated thanks!
Anytime brother! Keep me posted if that module is the problem! Also I’m curious is this module is a plug and play on the E class like they say.
@@Fwerks.1592 yes the same exact module is faulty, plugged the fiber loop & instantly got sound back! Still connects via Bluetooth so I left at is as for temporary solution until I order a new module 😂 probably next month I’ll deal with it as long as I can play my music is fine. But once I connect the new module i’ll let you know if it needs to be reprogrammed or not on the e class ! Thanks again brother you the man 💪🏽
@@alerodrigvez4956, good stuff!!!! Nothing feels better than getting your music back lol. Yes! Kinda curious to see if the module doesn’t need to be programmed!

No worries! I think having the vehicle scanned to see what codes pop up would be ideal. I’m thinking you might have a bad head unit!
Very good video, thank you. I used the amplifier cable, opening it inside, it has fiber optic cable.
Thank you! I'm glad this video was able to help you out! hopefully I can bring more videos like this for the W204!
How did you take out the module?
If you look underneath, the module is held with two tabs. You will need a flat head screwdriver to press the tabs down. Once you have both pressed down you can pop it out of place.
U gotta match part numbers dosnt have to be programmed
I’m pretty sure you still have to program it. I’ve looked for the exact same part number and it was impossible to find. I used a cross reference part number from the exact same year, model and trim level. I had another guy emailed me about the same thing and turns out he had to get the module program even with matching numbers.
Is there anybody in here located in Atlanta that can help me with this
That Mercedes C300 needs a loving Owner to wash it and do some restoration on the seats and interior. Looks like its been stolen.
