    I was so delighted to see this as your newest post! I played with alot, and I mean ALOT of clay and play dough when I was younger, and recently have been thinking of getting some airdry clay as a new hobby, and because my 5 year old niece loves to make food when we play with playdough. This was very inspiring for me, and you explain everything so well and in such a nice calm voice. Thank you for creating these videos ❤

    I’ve had the idea of wall decor made out of air dry clay, maybe like a large flower or something else 3d (with a flat backside), that can be hung up on a wall with a nail. I’ve looked around and can’t find any tutorials, so I think it would be a great video idea for you!

    Usually with cold porcelain you cannot add the eyepin when the piece is still fresh...does the eyepin rust if i do it with this type of clay? Thanks.

    • @RedRockingBird

      The clay dries out and so then the moisture is gone, if in doubt as you say attach in after, I do both ways depending on the project, thanks for adding this ❤️

    Amazing channel
    Could you talk about which varnishes are non-flammable?
    I am thinking about trying the DuraClear (the gloss varnish version) or the Triple Thick but i dont know if they are flammable.
    Besides, are all polyurethane varnishes water proof?
    Thank you ❤

    • @RedRockingBird
      @RedRockingBird  25 днів тому +1

      Thank you. I’ve experimented with air dry clay and seeing if it will burn, but haven’t as yet made a video, varnishes is another entity, and not sure I am ‘qualified’ enough to talk about that, just incase someone then burns their home down 😬❤️ Full research needed here

    How do you keep the clay flat when it's drying? I've done Squares, circles, and other bits, and they all seem to almost bow a bit and not dry flat.

    Hi I just recently attempted to make your clay pot project and my DAS clay has such a weird texture it sort of looks like leather even though i keep smoothing it and adding water. What do u think i am I doing wrong? your clay looks so smooth every single time!!

    • @RedRockingBird
      @RedRockingBird  Місяць тому +1

      Hi, do you think maybe air has got into the pack if it’s a bit too firm and leathery? Try not to add too much water

      @NO-um6hc Місяць тому +1

      @@RedRockingBird Hi thank you so much for replying. I realized I was kneading it too much and it became cracked and torn! I thought it had to be kneaded like a natural earth clay. It's much smoother when I did it using your exact technique thank u again love your work! ♥️
