My first Sonic game was Sonic Heroes on the Gamecube when I was about... 8 or 9? But the first Sonic Game I finished to the end was Sonic Rush when I was about... Between the ages of 12 and 14.
The Sonic Franchise was rising up, but was falling due to Sonic 06, and Sonic Boom along with its redesigns. Hopefully, one of the Sonic Characters will be saved from falling, and will have her own game one day, and I hope it's a game that will rock people's mind. And it will be fun for everyone to enjoy.
It kind of was. Metal Sonic references both Chaos and the Ultimate Life Form. He had taken data from those two through Froggy (being exposed to Chaos in SA1) and Shadow (SA2) as we see in what little story we get from Heroes. So ultimately, he attempts to be the big bad across the two previous games. Sadly, as the video said, the story is awfully small. Not exactly living up to a big follow up such as "Sonic Adventure 3".
Squirtle Master Why shouldn't they care about this piece of trivia? it's a revelation. Virtua Fighter RPG ended up being Shenmue and the original Final Fantasy VII ended up being Xenogears.
My 2nd uncle works at Konami and he said Project Sonic 2017 is Sonic Heroes 2 except the only team is Modern, Classic, and Boom Sonic. I can explain more if you like.

When the game arrived, however, I was disapointed: it didn't play like the Adventure games, it played like ass at 30fps, the constant character banter was annoying af, and the stages were Too. Fucking. Long. I swear to God my first play through Seaside Hill took over 15 minutes. When my bro called me from work and asked me how the game was, I described it to him, disapointed. Then he developed Post-Purchase Rationalization Symdrome and tried to convince me that those were positive points, and that I was supposed to like the game, since he pre-ordered the game for _me_. Well, _it worked_! Since Heroes started to grow on me, and I finally stopped comparing it to other Sonic games and just accepted it as what it is. I still find the stages too fucking long and that the PS2 version is shit, though; this is a thought my brother could never take away from me.
Tiwill The unbearable bugs and glitches that fuck you over at every turn. It basically wants you to play slowly and not like a pro because you might end up "too fast" for the game and screw up the engine.
The 3 first teams basically represents the level of difficult in the game. Team Sonic: normal. Team Dark: Hard. Team Rose: Easy, and Team Chaotix is something different with missions to complete

Blaze Modz A lot of people hate the controls. I think they're perfect, the slippery handling is made up for with fast-paced gameplay. Platforming is a lot easier. The gameplay is the same for every team, leading to a fair multiplayer and no complaints like treasure hunting and Big's levels from previous games. The special stages are bad, but I usually zone out and listen to it's music because I've done them so many times at this point, this is the best special stage music out of any game. This game also had good level design as well, which some people don't think about, good environments and incorporation of each character, it never feels like you're one character for super long. Nice gimmicks, makes it feel very refreshing. Unique enemies, Egg Pawns are definitely my favorite enemy throughout the entire series, they're shiny and adorable. Rail grinding is better in my opinion, the reason you fling off to the side so often is usually because you're still holding that direction when you switch railing, throwing off your momentum, just in case, I use fly formation when I need to switch. This game is definitely better than what a lot of people say.
This isn't entirely a pipe dream considering how much of Sonic Forces involved a teamwork mechanic (usually 2 characters, but the final boss actually used all 3 playable characters together in its last phase). A Heroes remaster could work with some tinkering of the engine and level design behind Forces to properly accommodate using three characters all the time.

I totally agree. Consistent gameplay style with some elements characteristic for first games with Sonic (and surprisingly fluent mechanism of changing characters and using their abilities) works much better than mixed bag from both adventure games (which are not bad games, but in my opinion they had a lot of levels (or even whole gameplay styles) which are simply tiresome). I only wish that they could solve in a bit different way this finishing the game with all four teams (it's relatively acceptable when you're playing with Rose Team (short and far easier levels), Chaotix Team (slightly different type of gameplay) and Sonic/or Dark Team ("normal" gameplay"), but finishing with all four is definitelly tiresome).

Heavily grammatically incorrect. The sudden possessive for Eggman is placed in the wrong spot, and it's missing an "of". There's only two ways to fix it to make it sound normal: "Look at all of those robots!" "Look at all of the robots that Eggman's built!" The second one still sounds a little weird
Sure thing. :) Forgot to mention... slipped my mind at that late hour. The possessor (Eggman) is usually at the front of the sentence, so you could also say something like: "Eggman's built a lot of robots, hasn't he? Just look at them all!" I just wanted to follow the theme of possessor-at-the-end-of-the-sentence like in the original, but like I said before, possessor at the end is a little weird. English speakers, at least in America, like to know who or what they're supposed to be thinking of when you start talking about something.
Funny thing is, I just recently remembered playing this as a kid and I started watching some speedruns and gameplay. The Nostalgia was real let me tell you.
This idea that it would interrupted the pace is kinda stupid. It was never really required in Sonic Adventure 1 or 2 unless you wanted all the emblems, so it really didn't interrupt the flow and it's has positive views from fans overall.

I love this game so much. The level design is excellent, the music is great, I love the team system (though the flying bits could've been done better), I really admired how the boss battles kept the speed element (and inspired the modern boss battles in games like Unleashed and Colors), and I gotta give it props for reviving Chaotix. My only real issues with the game were how you had to beat the game 4 times and win that stupid Chaos Emerald minigame 7 times to get to the final boss, the English voices were grating, and a lot of times you didn't snap to rails and fell to your death.
I know this one is divisive, but this is actually one my favorite sonic games, like...top five, maybe top 3, it's frantic and fast and the team mechanic is something I miss, plus the return of the Chaotix. It does have some issues that you have to learn to compensate for ( the slippery controls mostly) but a game doesn't have to be perfect for me to enjoy it
I went to a Circuit City in 2003, when I was 7 years old. I saw the Gamecube, along with the xbox, displayed next to each other. The gamecube had a copy of Sonic Heroes running on it. I was horrible at it. Therefore, that was the first Sonic game I've ever played. I got a Gamecube Christmas 2004, along with SADX, SA2B in 2006, and Sonic Heroes for the PC in 2006. it took my brother and I until the summer of 2010 to complete Sonic Heroes on a second computer. I scrapped the game in 2011 because we got an iMac and I never thought I would end up buying my own PC one year later. In the summer of 2015, I was looking at some garage sales and I found a Gamecube copy of Sonic Heroes in a very badly battered game case. I looked at the disc to make sure it wasn't scratched up or anything. The disc was pristine, almost in mint conditon. I was so excited! It was $2, so I quickly snatched it up. Once home, I showed the game to my brother and he was very excited that I found the game again. From there, we fired up the Wii, loaded the disc, and the game worked beautifully! As of November 2016, about 80% of the game has been completed as we have to finish Team Chaotix yet. I, nor my brother have had the time to play it as we both have very busy work schedules. I hope to complete the game by the summer of 2017.

I struggle to understand why some people consider the adventure games better, when they had several unnecessary gameplay styles with fishing, mech shooting, and treasure hunting, whereas Heroes was consistently always about high speed team-based platforming from beginning to end

5:26 I just realized something: they brought Tails' phobia back in the Sonic Boom cartoon. In the episode Cabin Fever, whenever lightning cracks, Tails gets scared and tries to hide.
Heroes to me always felt like the game that came the closest to being great. The levels are well done and creative, the music is good, and the story, while nothing to write home about, isn't in anyway horrible. The main thing that holds it back is that the controls aren't quite up to par. Had the controls been as tight as Adventure 1 or 2 I think this would have been a great game.

Heavily grammatically incorrect. The sudden possessive for Eggman is placed in the wrong spot, and it's missing an "of". There's only two ways to fix it to make it sound normal:
"Look at all of those robots!"
"Look at all of the robots that Eggman's built!"

Sure thing. :) Forgot to mention... slipped my mind at that late hour. The possessor (Eggman) is usually at the front of the sentence, so you could also say something like:
"Eggman's built a lot of robots, hasn't he? Just look at them all!"
I just wanted to follow the theme of possessor-at-the-end-of-the-sentence like in the original, but like I said before, possessor at the end is a little weird. English speakers, at least in America, like to know who or what they're supposed to be thinking of when you start talking about something.

Sonic Heroes was the first Sonic game I ever played and was sooo great.
Funny thing is, I just recently remembered playing this as a kid and I started watching some speedruns and gameplay. The Nostalgia was real let me tell you.

This idea that it would interrupted the pace is kinda stupid. It was never really required in Sonic Adventure 1 or 2 unless you wanted all the emblems, so it really didn't interrupt the flow and it's has positive views from fans overall.

The intro theme to this game is insane. The lyrics are crazy
I love this game so much. The level design is excellent, the music is great, I love the team system (though the flying bits could've been done better), I really admired how the boss battles kept the speed element (and inspired the modern boss battles in games like Unleashed and Colors), and I gotta give it props for reviving Chaotix.
My only real issues with the game were how you had to beat the game 4 times and win that stupid Chaos Emerald minigame 7 times to get to the final boss, the English voices were grating, and a lot of times you didn't snap to rails and fell to your death.
I had to pause the video at the part where the manual said that Eggman was a romantisist and a feminist, because I couldn't stop laughing.

I know this one is divisive, but this is actually one my favorite sonic games, like...top five, maybe top 3, it's frantic and fast and the team mechanic is something I miss, plus the return of the Chaotix. It does have some issues that you have to learn to compensate for ( the slippery controls mostly) but a game doesn't have to be perfect for me to enjoy it

I went to a Circuit City in 2003, when I was 7 years old. I saw the Gamecube, along with the xbox, displayed next to each other. The gamecube had a copy of Sonic Heroes running on it. I was horrible at it. Therefore, that was the first Sonic game I've ever played. I got a Gamecube Christmas 2004, along with SADX, SA2B in 2006, and Sonic Heroes for the PC in 2006. it took my brother and I until the summer of 2010 to complete Sonic Heroes on a second computer. I scrapped the game in 2011 because we got an iMac and I never thought I would end up buying my own PC one year later. In the summer of 2015, I was looking at some garage sales and I found a Gamecube copy of Sonic Heroes in a very badly battered game case. I looked at the disc to make sure it wasn't scratched up or anything. The disc was pristine, almost in mint conditon. I was so excited! It was $2, so I quickly snatched it up. Once home, I showed the game to my brother and he was very excited that I found the game again. From there, we fired up the Wii, loaded the disc, and the game worked beautifully! As of November 2016, about 80% of the game has been completed as we have to finish Team Chaotix yet. I, nor my brother have had the time to play it as we both have very busy work schedules. I hope to complete the game by the summer of 2017.

I struggle to understand why some people consider the adventure games better, when they had several unnecessary gameplay styles with fishing, mech shooting, and treasure hunting, whereas Heroes was consistently always about high speed team-based platforming from beginning to end

5:26 I just realized something: they brought Tails' phobia back in the Sonic Boom cartoon. In the episode Cabin Fever, whenever lightning cracks, Tails gets scared and tries to hide.

Heroes to me always felt like the game that came the closest to being great. The levels are well done and creative, the music is good, and the story, while nothing to write home about, isn't in anyway horrible.
The main thing that holds it back is that the controls aren't quite up to par. Had the controls been as tight as Adventure 1 or 2 I think this would have been a great game.

Sega needs to put the game on Switch's GameCube Virtual Console (if it has one) *and* also on Steam, since there already is a PC version the port shouldn't be that difficult! ^^
