I hope that Ed Brubaker finally gets the honor that he deserves for the creation of The Winter Soldier. Stan Lee killed off Bucky because he had nowhere to go with the character, now there's a whole show and fan base focused on him.

One of the technicians/scientists (the bald one with the glasses) in the scene when Bucky is getting reconditioned after his fight with Cap is Ed Brubaker, the writer who co-created the Winter Soldier. He's gotten more money in residuals for that cameo than he's gotten for creating WS.

Why like Captain America more than any other Marvel super hero is because is has a Stoic mentality. He doesn’t let his emotions control his actions or his speech. He has strong beliefs and to some they be rigid, conforming, and out dated, but he isn’t unwilling to change the way in which he sees things in the world. He treats everyone with respect even those who disagree with him or those he is up against. Hope y’all enjoy watching thru the rest of the MCU movies
I remember back in the late 60s or early 70s, Marvel published a satirical special issue - I think it was "The Mighty Marvel Achievement Awards" or something like that, and Bucky got an award for staying dead and avoiding the comic book cliche of popular characters who died miraculously coming back to life. I really like Bucky and think he's gone through some of the best character development, so I'm glad he was eventually brought back, but I understand where they were coming from.
Steve is not "square" he is a military officer of the army where they work differently and there are no hidden side plans that the mission leader does not know. That makes Cap feel disrespected his rank, it's understandable.
@@ragasayad5103 you have the right to your opinion but I'm just saying hating cap for 1 mistake and just forgetting about the good he has done is not right, I mean Tony is a good man and a hero but he has also done some shitty things too but he redeemed himself, so if you are a iron man it's just hypocritical to not believe in redemption for keeping a secret while the one you call a hero is responsible for a lot of shit.

On the Hydra/Shield split. I think majority was Shield but the Hydra portion was made up of the elite operatives and a number of the higher-ups. Which is why they posed such a threat.
I´m so so happy that Jen likes this movie. I was so exited for this reaction but at the same time scared because of what happened when Matt watched it.
Anyone else notice the star wars call back with Sam Jackson when he grabbed the weapon to cut the whole it looked like he was grabbing a light saber. Lol
The russos said in an interview that they nicknamed that weapon as his "lightsaber" and they wanted to make a little blooper where he pushed the button and a purple lightsaber came out 😂😂 i dont know if they ever did it but i love the idea
It was no secret to those who read the comics that BUcky was going to return, since the reveal is in the title, but our excitement was in seeing every non-comic MCU fan react to him being alive in the first place, so we jsut kinda smiled when the reveal happened and we go "Yep!" BUcky never died, he got captured and brainwashed by HYDRA! There are people who still get the biggest jaw drop from the reveal that Steve had been battling and chasing his best friend the entire time! I still get a kick out of people when the mask gets ripped off, and there like "Wait, who is that? Steve looks heartbroken, why would he--?" And then Steve goes "Bucky?!" I remember being int he theater on opening night, and a whole bunch of people just audibly gasped at seeing Bucky because they had seen the First Avegner movie before it, and I was so giddy with delight! Moments like those make us so happy as Marvel fans! Plus yeah the movie was a Clancy novel/spy thriller/James Bond political espionage vibe, which i loved!
I turn 21 in a month and when I saw this movie, I was only 14 years old and watched in the theater the day it came out. He went from being my least favorite Avenger to being my favorite Avenger in a single movie and after revisiting the first Avenger, I really appreciate it in retrospect.
Not telling the Mission Lead (Cap) that one of HIS assets/team members is on a different mission is a HUGE no no in ANY military or espionage endeavor. It's giving you a tool belt but the second you need your screwdriver, it vanished. I understand the 'square' ref, yes, Cap is by the book, mostly, and for a good reason. Oh wait, she's a Tony fan lol Now I get it.
To be fair, it is quite impossible to think he somehow cut through that much concrete with a tool the size of a toothbrush in literally 10 seconds- with that purple lightsaber sure no problem but that’s like shaving your beard with a nose-hair trimmer
@@BichaeldeAngelo Do you remember the cutting torch used in the opening of Captain America to cut through the ice and hull of the Valkyrie? Fury had the miniaturized version that is literally in every agents' toolkit in the comics.

Winter Soldier is arguably the best and most well done of all the Marvel movies IMO. Even if it wasn't part of the on going MCU overall storyline, it's a great stand alone film.
the joy and enthusiasm on jen's face when she's talking about and looking forward to the next movies is adorable/infectious .... and the best is yet to come
The Hydra agents weren't that many but they were extremely well placed and prepared. Hawkeye was sent on a mission across the globe according to the Russo brothers and all the Hydra agents were concentrated at the headquarters for the big day. "Agents of Shield" covered the attempted coup in detail.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Implies that the split is more 80% Hydra 20% Good Guys, or that the good guys at least are vastly outclassed in terms of access to resources once the SHIELD civil war begins (in this film and continued in the back third of Season 1 and onwards into Season 2).
GSP is the best! Got excited back in 2014 when I saw him show up for the first time, I was glad he was able to translate his talents to something else like this. Great Guy too if you haven’t heard the story he told on Joe Rogan about his childhood bully, I suggest it, made me a bigger fan.
I vividly remember watching this in theaters and freaking out over the Hydra reveal because at the same time I was watching the TV show Agents of Shield and I was like "Omfg how is it going to affect the show?” It ended up being one of the best parts of Agents of Shield.
Black Widow doesn't have to share her separate mission. But Cap/Steve is not into the whole spy/secret ops side of things. He's more straightforward military and comrades working together thing. You only keep secrets from the enemy. And he feels a little bit betrayed because he sees Nat as a friend and comrade. Don't get me wrong, I like Nat better, but just understanding his view. And it's a great way to show that even though they are pretty much partners they are working in 2 totally different worlds.
*I can attest that there is MAJOR juiciness to come Jen* I also love how practical u r when watching these movies and wanting Fury’s car for the apocalypse 😎🔥🤣 this movie opens up so much that’s to come and can’t wait to continue watching ur reaction 🥰
It's funny to me that she views Cap as a "rule follower" when he's the most likely to rebel because of how corrupt the government can be. I mean even in this film he technically wasn't being an obedient soldier, he's constantly questioning what SHIELD is doing and goes into hiding instead of turning himself in or something like that.

@Pruthvi Raj agree
Shouldn't you have said that you can watch this all day? Missed chance. smh
Jenn is such a thoughtful person. She gets so frustrated when Holden doesn't tell her things while watching the film. That look she gives the camera is great. I love thier dynamic. These watches are fun. This movie is one of my favorites, but I am a BIG Captain America fan. Thanks for sharing these.

I hope that Ed Brubaker finally gets the honor that he deserves for the creation of The Winter Soldier. Stan Lee killed off Bucky because he had nowhere to go with the character, now there's a whole show and fan base focused on him.
he even got a cameo in this!
You should watch Brubaker's interview on Kevin Smith's channel
He makes more from his cameo in this than from creating winter soldier.
@@logansmith2703 Like he said in the interview, that's only because he hasn't gotten shit from the MCU for it. He was offered a "Thank you" check, which pales in comparison to what The Winter Soldier is actually worth.

This is the one us BUCKY fans have been waiting for
We are all with him at the end of the line. *salute*
"Is he for real dead?"
She's starting to see a pattern here...
I love that Holden does the Jim stare at the camera hahahahahaha
Steve is not "square" he is a military officer of the army where they work differently and there are no hidden side plans that the mission leader does not know. That makes Cap feel disrespected his rank, it's understandable.
Jen: I still see him as a rule follower.
All of us: Hold my Civil War

@@ragasayad5103 you have the right to your opinion but I'm just saying hating cap for 1 mistake and just forgetting about the good he has done is not right, I mean Tony is a good man and a hero but he has also done some shitty things too but he redeemed himself, so if you are a iron man it's just hypocritical to not believe in redemption for keeping a secret while the one you call a hero is responsible for a lot of shit.
@@skywalker6587 iron man or his family created like 6 of the villains in the MCU and that isn't including stane. Literally never stop with these kind of sponsor skits
George St.Piere was playing Batroc the villain on ship. He's a UFC Champion. In case anyone was asking.
On the Hydra/Shield split. I think majority was Shield but the Hydra portion was made up of the elite operatives and a number of the higher-ups. Which is why they posed such a threat.
I love the comment about Stephen Strange from Holden "You're about 4 years too Early" LMAO only us fan know what he meant
I understood that reference
Its funny how I’ve never noticed the hydra dude say stephen strange in the movie
Lol
Or the quote on his tombstone and Pulp Fiction...
The russos said in an interview that they nicknamed that weapon as his "lightsaber" and they wanted to make a little blooper where he pushed the button and a purple lightsaber came out 😂😂 i dont know if they ever did it but i love the idea
She’s funny. From the expression on her face during most of the film, I would not have guessed she liked it so much.
Steve looks heartbroken, why would he--?"
And then Steve goes "Bucky?!"
I remember being int he theater on opening night, and a whole bunch of people just audibly gasped at seeing Bucky because they had seen the First Avegner movie before it, and I was so giddy with delight! Moments like those make us so happy as Marvel fans!
Plus yeah the movie was a Clancy novel/spy thriller/James Bond political espionage vibe, which i loved!
Love it when Holden say you're about 4 years too early 😂. And whenever Jen asks something he either says you'll see or give the smug smile
25:18
"Please don't make me do this"
I've heard that line before this week...

The quote on Fury's tombstone is the beginning of the verse that Jules Winfield (Sam Jackson) says when he's about to kill someone in Pulp Fiction.
Jen - 'Aw Bucky!'
Holden -'Ye ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)' *looks at the camera*
lmao
The directors, Joe and Anthony Russo, actually confirmed shield was 1/3 hydra for the commentary of the film’s honest trailer
So, Iron Man has a ridiculous amount of tech in his suit, but Jen does an eye roll because fury has a gadget that can cut through concrete?
To be fair, it is quite impossible to think he somehow cut through that much concrete with a tool the size of a toothbrush in literally 10 seconds- with that purple lightsaber sure no problem but that’s like shaving your beard with a nose-hair trimmer
I thought he just so happened to crash and end up on top of a manhole and he cut though that.
@@BichaeldeAngelo and in a perfect circle. It would crack.

Apparently I haven’t watched this movie since Endgame.... because the music in Steve’s apartment when Fury visits him is... familiar.
I realized it in the Matt video and now that scene makes me so happy and sad at the same time.
its in almost every pivotal cap scene through the mcu. so good
it's almost like there was a reason the russos used it in endgame LOL
Winter Soldier is arguably the best and most well done of all the Marvel movies IMO. Even if it wasn't part of the on going MCU overall storyline, it's a great stand alone film.
the joy and enthusiasm on jen's face when she's talking about and looking forward to the next movies is adorable/infectious .... and the best is yet to come
If you didn’t know the scream that plays when the winter soldier is there is bucky’s scream when he falls in the first cap film just slightly changed
The Hydra agents weren't that many but they were extremely well placed and prepared. Hawkeye was sent on a mission across the globe according to the Russo brothers and all the Hydra agents were concentrated at the headquarters for the big day. "Agents of Shield" covered the attempted coup in detail.
My favorite MCU film! Also its really fun to watch this right now with the Falcon and the Winter Soldier going on
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Implies that the split is more 80% Hydra 20% Good Guys, or that the good guys at least are vastly outclassed in terms of access to resources once the SHIELD civil war begins (in this film and continued in the back third of Season 1 and onwards into Season 2).
The type of mask widow uses is used on agents of shield so it wasn't a surprise when I first saw it lol
Samuel L. Jackson’s story about his grandfather is partially true, his grandfather was an elevator operator in real life.
"Thor Dark world an 8.5? ...ok" 🤣the undertones of that statement lol

Agreed. Not many fighters get to retire a champ, come back, win again, retire again, come back again, and win again. Guy's a badass
I didn’t know who he was until I saw the BTS but I thought it was cool how happy he was he got to fight Cap.
He's obviously a gymnast.
GSP is the best! Got excited back in 2014 when I saw him show up for the first time, I was glad he was able to translate his talents to something else like this. Great Guy too if you haven’t heard the story he told on Joe Rogan about his childhood bully, I suggest it, made me a bigger fan.
Have Matt watch Daredevil its an amazing show and something he would really like dark, gritty, down to earth and has an ending that is amazing!
6:07 That's actually Georges St. Pierre, one of the greatest MMA fighters of all time. I have him #2 on my all-time list.
We got her to start changing her mind on Captain America even just a little bit. I've been waiting for this day time to break out the champagne
Just waiting on the civil war and endgame ones now.
Fun Fact
At 28:28 on nick fury’s tombstone, it says Ezekiel 25 : 17. That’s what Samuel L Jackson’s character Jules from pulp fiction says.
