Would never use building sand in mix, only use sharp sand and cement 5:1 to allow the water to drain through, you never mentioned slurry, also use VERY little water and lay on a semi dry screed mix of 5:1 sharp, gives the bed compressive strength and the slurry on back of the slabs with give the 'stick' you need on the semi dry bed screed mix by more than tenfold
Thanks mate 😁 and lol I'm 30 years old but done this job since I was 15 also my brother has even more experience than me so we both been doing it for a long old time now but we both we absolutely love our job 💚
Excellent job lads, glad to hear you both love your jobs. It shows by how good your finished patio is. Looks absolutely great. I'd be very happy with that.
Have been laying paving for 40 years and never used a do called membrane. If the base is properly constructed then there will be no roots of plants or weeds remaining and no need for a membrane. If you think you need a membrane then you haven't done your job properly.
I’m half way laying 35m sandstone patio and whoop got 3 + crosses
Should of watch this before I be most forward planning for the rest
Top video 😊

Why not state how much water and plasticiser to use? People are watching this for advice.
@@williamanderson4597 that will vary on how wet the sand is from.the merchant. He's right not to put volume of water

👌
In 40 years? And still don't know what membrane is for?
150 mm base wtf? Real is 70 mm is ok
