    how many cm of type 1 do you have to put and the slabs are only layed on mortar? that looks thick. No need for concrete in that case? Nice job

    I see you used easy joint. What mix did you use for your bedding so it was able to support the slabs but still be porous for the easy joint? Amazing work!

    Hi. Looks great. Does anyone know if on the continuous fence boards you need to leave a gap between the boards end to end when you add the continuing board. these all look continuous with no gap but I wonder if they stay like that? Would they last as well as traditional fences with wider boards? I've seen some put vertical supports every 2 feet (600mm). Would every 3 foot (900mm) be sufficient with the actual posts being 6 feet (1800mm) apart? Finally, would a 4x4 post support a 2 sided fence like this with EPDM or tar paper in between the 2 sides? I love to build one but even though these are popular in Europe, no one seems to have them here in the US. I would really appreciate a response if anyone could answer my questions.

    The only thing I would of added was to paint/ stain / the back side of the gray fence. Unlesss that heart redwood it most likely will rot shrink bend or warp because the back side is not protected. Doesn’t look like redwood. Curious why you didn’t protect the back side and just painted the front?
    Beautiful makeover!

    • @michaeladams2077
      @michaeladams2077 2 роки тому

      Agree. It does look like redwood but if it was I wouldn’t have painted it and just light stain or seal to show the natural beauty of redwood. Also if that is redwood which I really think it is because he is screwed if it’s not then that is one expensive wall!!

    Nice building work, but designed for the benefit of the builders rather than the client. No wonder wild-life is dying out in the UK's gardens.
    *Edit* I've changed my mind on seeing it again and it's a definite improvement compared to the way it was: separate patio areas combined into one with a roof and seating area. Central lawn converted to something better designed with potential for growing into a low maintenence meadow. Path around perimeter provides potential for adding raised planting areas. More importantly, I'm guessing this is what the client wanted.

    • @Andy2x4

      That's what I thought as well. Artificial turf does not support wildlife and looks ugly, to be honest. You could see before in that spot the grass was thriving, so I guess it wouldn't be a problem to have a real one there.

    Why does YT show me all these awful garden destruction videos, when I search for DIY garden makeover? They leave only built-over space and green plastic carpets. A real lawn is the only thing that is sometimes left of the garden (not in this). This looks ugly over the years, requires cleaning and soon replacement, and it costs a lot. In well planted gardens, nature takes care of itself, and only occasional cutting and pruning is needed.

    Nice work, overall, I like the pavement works. However, the result is a bit sterile and I strongly dislike artificial turf as it is not environmentally and wildlife-friendly. Also, a bit of shame to cover a nice brick wall. But that is what the client wanted I guess. A few pots here and there and some nice light would make it more pleasing I think.
