My little guy has skin allergies. Vet put him on drugs and the skin bumps all disappears...for 2 weeks. Then I noticed they were coming back. I had just started taking Turmeric with Black Pepper mixed in Coconut Oil and taken with Almond Milk that was warmed. I decided to make a past and rubbed it on Shawn's big flaky bump and to my shock and surprise and delight, I took his brush to it and it all disappeared and hasn't come back for many days now. I've been giving him every evening since 2 tsps of my Turmeric Milk and am noticing the flaky bumps are smaller. GO FOR IT EVERYONE....I hate taking meds for myself and I feel the same for my baby....
Yes you can feed it to a 1 year old dog, even puppies. Mix it well into the food so that they will eat it. If you have a very picky eater who won't eat DIY Golden paste, I recommend purchasing the pre-made Golden Paste powder which is very easy to mix with food and picky dogs like it: pawdega.us/products/healthy-hip-joint You get 10% off if you sign up for the newsletter
Thank you so much for watching. We've used MCT Oil in this recipe. I can't seem to find any supporting research that coconut oil may create lipomas. Can you share a source to this statement please?
I believe my guy might have a yeast problem in addition to possibly allergies. I don't have a ton of faith in veterinary care beyond emergency care. When I described to my vet that my dog was itching his paws A LOT she suggested trying Claritin. No further suggestions. That did nothing. It didn't occur to me dogs could get yeast. My son ran across this info. I was looking for info on that when I found this video. In addition to changing to homemade food for a bit with recipes geared towards yeast treatment, this also sounds like it might be beneficial. Thanks for sharing this.
Thank you so much for watching and thank you for sharing! I hope your dog feels better very soon. We highly recommend 'The Yeasty Beast Protocol' for dogs with yeast, as this addresses the root cause and we've seen the best long-term results with this. Have you heard of it? I make my 13 year old German Shepherd food and have always added tumeric and coconut oil and sometimes other fats. She is very healthy with no healt problems. She also goes on long walks every day. Thank you for this video and giving others this important knowledge.
Thank you for your video. My 11yr dog just started having joint pains, 2yrs ago, we used to take long walks, but now he can barely make it out of bed.I used to sprinkle turmeric powdered on his food but it didn't help but then I learned about antinol it helped him a little. Im so glad I saw your video on how to prepare the turmeric. I pray it works for him ,he's normally so happy and lively it makes me sad that he has no energy now. Again thank you
This is 2024 and I have a German shepherd mix that that I adopted from an animal shelter in 2013 and I am 75 I take too much and my dog is starting to be is almost as old as I am, I wanted my dog to be young were you can grow old with me and I have got that and if we die at the same time that is fine but I’m not having him buried with me😅
Can't you just mix the ingredients ; turmeric, coconut oil and a bit of black pepper and give the pet a bit of that ? ( That's what I do). - Why is there a need for cooking it ?? And by the way, in any case, it's a good idea to use organic ingredients...
From my understanding, the heat is to activate the full benefits of the Tumeric/pepper combo, while making sure you're not heating past the oil melting point.
@@theoneders2056 , Interesting... I wonder how much difference does it actually make, as far as it's benefits goes, in having these ingredients heated opposed to when it's not...
I'm sorry to hear your dog is having allergies. If my dog were allergic to coconut oil or olive oil, I would make it with Organic Ghee from grass-fed cows and see how they get along with that. Looking for more support? Feel free to reach out to us at: pawdega.us/pages/contact
Thank you so much for watching. The recommended feeding amount for dogs is 1/2 teaspoon for every 22 lbs of bodyweight. Please consult your (holistic) veterinarian of trust regarding the medication.
Love to add paste to the diet of my Brussels Griffin but have interest in exactly how you get dogs to eat it. Without those details it’s a waste of time.
We mix the paste well into our dogs ground raw dog food and it works well. She eats it. If we were to just add the paste on the top, it would be too easy to pick it out. If you feed dry food, I recommend liquidating the paste a bit more so you can 'coat' the pallets with the paste.
I have a maltipoo allergy with itchy skin he weighs 11 lbs how much of the turmeric and black pepper and coconut oil, do I use when making this golden paste? And how much do I feed him with his food? Thank u
Can you use the coconut that it comes in a jar for cooking because right now in my air conditioning, my coconut is oil it never hardens unless it’s winter.
Hey Elyssa, this is a great question. Once you've made the batch of Golden Paste, it's good in the fridge for 14 days. You can also portion what you won't use in 14 days in the freezer.
thanks for your video. My dog is 9 lbs and he’s got collapsed trachea so I thought the turmeric tincture OR your recipe would be great ....so thank you. DO you think 1/4 tsp daily for him? Please advise. Thank you.
I bought tumeric and was going to make holden paste for my Sheltie. He has bladder cancer and on a perscription of piroxicam. There can be interactions be tween the two that can be deadly, so please check the interactions between medications of the two before you use them together. I was so looking forward to give Golden paste a try.
Hey Sherrie, thanks so much for your comment! I'm sorry to hear Sheltie has been diagnosed with bladder cancer and that turmeric would interact with the medication Sheltie is on. My rheumatologist recommends using some fat with the turmeric. The fat globules bind with the turmeric and makes it even more effective. He’s done research on turmeric and is from Indian. So, don’t skip the fat!
Hey! Thanks so much for your comment! =) We definitely agree! The healthy fat helps to increase nutrient absorption. In this video, we use MCT oil as the healthy fat =)
Thanks for your message! The ingredients instruct for the use of freshly ground black pepper (which comes from peppercorn) which we used in this video. Placing whole peppercorns into the golden paste would provide no benefits. Please research....

Is there any reason you can't sub bone broth for water in the golden paste?
You can use bone broth instead of water. It'll just make your golden paste higher in nutrients.

My dog is on Piroxicam as well. Is it due to the stomach possibly developing ulcers and the blood thinning element of the Turmeric?
What was the pan that you said you use?
