My ideal touch Boiler Thermostat stopped working a week ago. Screwfix had a deal on with a Tado and as I have been following your channel for a while decided to go for this brand. The application even gives you step by step installation instructions for your boiler. The wireless receiver has to be 30 cm away from the boiler so that could affect the thermostat performance. All in all really pleased with it
Nice and easy to fit these. I spent longer showing the customer how to download the app and link it with Alexa. A long cup of tea later and my hour is up.
These are great when working. I have 17 installed. My biggest gripe is the battery low messages when the batteries are fine and as mentioned ny ithere, the bridge not cimmunicating with some but works other times.
Those Tado TRV adaptors fit everything except all the Mk1 Draytons I put in my house 30 years ago. Grrr. I had to replace every TRV valve body in the house with a new ones, with 10mm inlets for my microbore, that fitted the Tado heads. Funny how simple jobs always turn into all day jobs!! That said, the Tado system works well, apart from a few erroneous low battery error messages.
I installed these on mine. It's is good when working but. Few things they don't tell you. Mine is on a combi, if you install them on every radiator it will sometimes close all trvs but still call for heat causing errors on the boiler and shutting it down. The bridge doesn't connect to the wireless wall stat via WiFi so if you don't leave them very close to each other. You could end up with a huge gas bill as for some reason when mine wasn't next to each other the heating downstairs was turning on full wack overnight without us knowing for 2 months.
I have a bungalow and the bridge regularly looses communication with various TRVs. I've tried moving the bridge and it's currently in the loft. It's really frustrating to find the heating didn't come on and the house is freezing.
Be aware that each device has to communicate via the bridge. The communication protocol used by Tado is capable of forming a mesh network, but Tado doesnt do this. If you have a larger house you need to ensure that the bridge is central to all devices. In a large house this still might not work.
Bloody hell,,, plumber doing electrical works ...😅😅😂 I've seen plumbers so called electric works... Some don't pass regs.. or resistance test., But not bad Mr plumberparts.
I'm into tech but this i cant see the point its just more to go wrong down the line, like a software update and it can happen as the old software is not compatible with new tech they just released or there not supporting the older devices lol been there done that with other tech/software , just keep it simple as it will happen with this type of Device
I’m a big follower of your channel but i love your delightful women customers. Delightfully beautiful 😊. I’m in the states but would like to meet a pleasant British lady. Thank you.
Really? From my experience I would say electricians shouldn’t touch smart heating control systems - mine made a complete mess of my Hive install, which had to be redone by someone else. (Eventually moved to Tado.)
The whole plumber vs electrician debate begins. Isn't it ironic that once you've passed you c&g and have been crowned as a competent person, you can't do your job until you pay into some government backed quango/mates club.

The way you savagely destroyed that poor child’s Snail!!!.
I am going to have to seriously reconsider my subscription you absolute brute.
That job i could easily finish in an hour plus one week! Even then, i'd be calling out the plumber. Well done!

Plus one on that preciva kit!

Why would anybody put the original wired thermostat beside the front door
And why would anyone put an RF thermostat in the same place when it could go ANYWHERE!
I thought I'd wandered onto the hub with this thumbnail. But the plumber was actually doing work.....😂😂

Jimbo you would make a great dad!😂😂😂

Why did you had to take the pressure off before changing the TRVs? It shouldn't matter when you replace them. Just curious.
Cos he swapped a couple of valve bodys too not just the heads
@@dd5617 makes sense, must have missed that part, cheers
Wow termostat right at the front door, what a stupid place was that.
How soon will this pay for itself in reduced bills? Seems an over the top and half gimmick! What would it cost a householder?
16:14 - 2021 Calendar??!!
The amount of times I’ve checked my phone thinking I’d got messages 😅
Now max, question is do you like following this nutter or following posh sparks? 😂😂😂
Stat by the front door when it’s wireless????????
Shouldnt it have been possible to connect it to the boiler using the bus? Modulation would have been great.
Laura got big nails ??? I never noticed her big nails
There's 2 big reasons Jimmy likes working for Laura...she makes a nice cup of tea and he loves children 👀.
You sickos that's his sister!!😂
Laura needs her own channel 🤣
I like to keep abreast of DIY and this one was Hooter. Double Downed on those gadgets and a couple of Big Tips never hurt anyone! 😊

£4 quid for an ice cream is outrageous!!!
She’s a rip off merchant that kid.
Cheeky buggah, could complete this in 2 hours
Oh Laura 😍

I thought people from Cambridge said Vagos not wago 😏
What if your phone is hacked and the global world government decides that you have exceeded your therm limit?
Don't worry that will only happen in the future.
I got an upgrade to my worcester boiler as that filler key snapped off, horrible design
👍👍🤜😎
I’m a big follower of your channel but i love your delightful women customers. Delightfully beautiful 😊. I’m in the states but would like to meet a pleasant British lady. Thank you.
I bet there are two reasons for that?
awww cmon you didnt even bypass the old thermostat?!
Mum is hot! 🥰👸
Plumbers shouldn't touch electrics
😂Dead right. Leave it to the Diyers🤣

Haha!
At least a plumber knows the wiring works once setup. Had exactly the same with a spark who said he didn't understand s plan
