    Hittin the 250 mph fastball isn't what you gotta worry about, it's hittin the 220 mph slider that will get you.

    • @CarlosWever
      @CarlosWever 6 років тому +8

      This is exactly what I mean. Knowing the trajectory makes it " easier" to hit. With a lot of practice you will hit the ball. This is because you know or get used to the trajectory and speed of the ball. A machine shoots almost 100% of the times the ball at (in) the same spot. This is because the machine is NOT throwing harder, but the distance, there is a less of a distance for the ball to move out of the trajectory of the bath area. (The square inch of the barrel of the bath will be through the air at that distance). If he stand at a normal distance and give the ball chance to move (even if it is a machine throwing straight ball) at those real speeds he will not be able to hit it. Because the trajectory will NOT be the same each time. And to test this , let the machine at normal distance throw a 200 mph slider, heck even a 100 mph slider or a curve, his idea of how good he is might be changes. This is why Knuckle balls are so difficult to hit. IT IS NOT ABOUT THE speed but about the trajectory of the ball, if it chances in anyway or have no "simple" trajectory, it will be difficult to hit. Even at low speed.

Does he even have time for something as petty as actually working for a living? I envy the fact that he seems so happy, even though he has no real life to speak of. • @PatrickMiles1
      @PatrickMiles1 6 років тому +13

      You are right to an extent, the ball has a maximum velocity so that 250 isn't necessarily going to go 2.5x further, and since his swing is just a chop at it, it would probably go to the outfielders. If he extended his swing a bit (physically impossible with the ball's speed), then it would probably clear the fence.

      @PatrickMiles1 6 років тому +9

      It's very impressive that he is making CONTACT with the ball, but I find a swing like Rafael Devers's home run off Aroldis Chapman throwing 103 to be more impressive. That machine puts the ball in the same EXACT spot every time. And he knows the EXACT timing that the machine will fire off the next ball. If the timing & trajectory were randomized, as it is for major league batters, this "episode" would have never been recorded.

      not true
      ive been to soo many pitching machines, once even at a place like that. there is always something wrong, such as a ball that doesnt get off correctly, or something just goes wrong. not every pitch, and i quote, is in the EXACT same spot.

    • @andrewkravmaga1833
      @andrewkravmaga1833 6 років тому +2

      Yeah, but what is there to be cocky about lmao? He can foul tip a 250 mph ball 100 times out of 100 😂 This skill is like if a placekicker in football could kick a legit 10-yard field goal. No one is gonna pitch 250 and legitimate 10 yards means your kicking on the line of scrimmage, on top of the goal line. Not gonna lie, they're difficult to do, but they are utterly and completely useless.

    • @marksorenson2299
      @marksorenson2299 6 років тому +2

      Andrew Sabater he isn’t foul tipping the pitches. He hit several line drives during the video. Hardly any of them went foul that I saw. Doesn’t mean it’s a useful skill, but you were trying to water down what he is doing for some reason. If you wanna say it’s a useless skill fine, but don’t try to diminish what he’s doin by pretending he is just foul tipping these pitches. Makes u sound jealous of his useless skill. Otherwise why would you lie about him just foul tipping every pitch?
