RIP Jimmy, great writer..
True New Yorker. Rip.
The host should let Jimmy Breslin get a word in edgewise.
Doug's from New York. Whaddya expect?
Good boy Jimmy. You brought a voice to the people that had no voice. From the dirt. From a corner store. From a family that had a drunk father and 5 children. Tell that story, Jimmy. I wish you were here today. There are so many stories left to tell.
A superb author and the book is class. Exciting to read and engaging.
Great writer, very good book about an incredible court case & an even more incredible series of events that involved a lot of top wiseguys. For mob fans this case had it all: Gaspipe Casso doing what he did best, Federal agents selling the mob info, NYPD detectives telling the mob who was ratting them out, ( issuing death sentences ), & even using their badges to pull over, kidnap & even murder members of the public, all for cash money. Gaspipe Casso definitely has a fascinating story to tell & theirs been a few books written about him & Eppolito & carracappa, The Good Rat is definitely one of the better books, alongside Breslins standard dry wit, it's filled with courtroom testimony of Kaplan which is very informative, however, in my opinion the best book I've read on this subject is The Brotherhoods, by Bill Oldham & Guy Lawson, I highly recommend it to everyone who is interested in this case.
A very good read indeed. Hollywood loves a mafia/organised crime picture, this would make a superb film...switching from court to past events and famous mobsters.
Will definitely be ordering The Brotherhoods. Thanks
Listen to The Good Rat on audiobook / Great , Also Mob Cops by Greg B. Smith - man o man ....great stuff - like going into a time machine .
Why doesn't the host let Breslin get a few extra words in edgewise?
Love these mob interviews. YOu should separate them into a separate UA-cam playlist
Def his best . No question top 3 true crime book of all time. If you like true crime, you should have already read it
You wanna know from New York? Watch and listen to those two. You'll learn more about New York City than you ever will sitting on a tourbus.
Bad interviewer...good Breslin though.
"I don't like RICO." "Why?" "FASCISM!" Thank you, Jimmy.
He's so funny
This presenter is always interrupting
And he's camp, loud, theatrically overreacting to anything. Like the other one wouldn't understand without so much yells and dramatic gestures
Big J.B you are missed ...#RIP - THE GOOD RAT GREAT BOOK
a fun book too read ;)
Doug Muzzio ---- a Queens guy. And talking to another Queens guy. Go figure.
What about Brooklyn, huh? C'mon....!
