This is practically just a movie for a non existent Dark Pictures Anthology game, over even Until Dawn specifically. If i watched this out of context, I'd have no idea it's supposed to be Until Dawn
I think that is THE killing point. You show the visuals and synopsis to someone without mentioning its supposed to be an Until Dawn movie and nobody would think about mentioning the game what so ever.
It annoys me that they’re bringing Dr Hill back like he’s going to connect a whole franchise of until Dawn movies. He’s not the curator from Dark Pictures. He was literally Josh’s real life therapist/dr.
Yeah that is another point. He is such an important part of the story that resolves around Josh. I don't know what they are trying to portray him as here?
If the story and characters are different.... WHY USE THE SAME NAME!? Don't get me wrong, the story looks interesting. But the name makes it look like a cash grab and it pisses me off
The try again after dying mechanic sounds more like the Death Rewind from The Quarry, so what, everyone has three extra lives and after using them all up, the next time you die it’s for keeps than?
I actually thought about mentioning that! But even here, it was just a bonus mechanic you usually wouldn't even have right away unless you bought the Deluxe Edition.
The movie sound pretty cool, not gonna lie. But yeah, it also sounds like it won't have anything in common with Until Dawn and only uses its name to market itself better. :-/ I'm not even sure if I want to watch it (I'm more a fan of horror games than movies), but I do hope it will be good on its own. But man, how I wish it wouldn't use the Until Dawn IP at all :-/
If they wanted to do something different but keep the interest of at least some fans, why can't they make it 'in the universe' of Until Dawn... They want a killer instead of Wendigo, ok, then make a psychopath so fixated on the story of the OG cast that he wanted to recreate the night... It still won't be exactly what people want, but it's at least somewhat connected...
I got an awful feeling that the whole premise was in some way generated by an AI, because there is no way they just make a random movie and slap “Until Dawn” on it. I just don’t believe that these guys, claiming to be “fans of the original game” make a death and reincarnation loop scenario and call it true to the original source. It’s like they put it in Chat GPT or something, told it to make a scenario for a movie around the name “Until Dawn” and take the core ideas of the game, like an isolated house in the middle of nowhere, a group of teenagers fighting for their lives, etc
Yeah I know. But remember, the director of Resident Evil Welcome to Raccoon City said he was a big fan of the franchise, yet made Leon a comedic relief and gave Jill Valentine barely any character moments.
This absolutely looks like a movie my sister and I would watch, which isn't bad. It's just that there's no point in claiming it's an adaptation of _Until Dawn._ Whenever it comes to streaming, I'll probably try to watch it with her. It kinda reminds me of _Abigail_ so far, so that's great.
I'm actually so angry that sony just slapped the until dawn name on a completely unrelated movie. There's no time loop in UD? There's no suburbs?? I'm so mad I can't lie 💀 I think the only thing relating the two is Peter Stormare, and even then Hill won't be the Dr Hill we knew cause he was in Josh's head 😭 The fact they had the nerve to have a voice over about how they want it to 'expand the game' and gave us this. I can't. It feels like a slap in the face 💀 Oh well, at least we have the og and the remaster. I see people say this should be a dark pictures thing but honestly? I wouldn't want that at all. a) cause sony doesn't yet own DPA like they do UD thankfully, and b) we unfortunately wouldn't have the curator, who's literally the main part of the series. Anyways. Season 2 of Dark Pictures anyone?
“Questionable” is putting it nicely. The way it sounds like making a game based on Superman video game, but the movie turns out to be a cheap version of Indiana Jones. I can’t say I can’t believe they would do this; but I’m honestly not. This is maybe one of the worse video games to movie translations ever.
As soon as they announced that it would be new characters i was out. But now im definitely not interested, its a completely different thing with the name Until Dawn on it.
This could've been such a smart idea if they made it in a snowy icy mountain and them being hunted down by JUST wendigos I also don't like how there adding a supernatural element to until dawn because there "continuing" the "universe" and the rewind thing is verry dumb because the thing about the game is the deaths are permanent
No it hasn’t. Only if you live and breathe Twitter. Everywhere else is fine. Until dawn remake came out and no one was complaining about the use of wendigos. Just being chronically online is where you’ll find people like that.
I wouldn't say so, especially if you do a accurate description like the game did it and not that Deer like nonsense that became popular for some reason!
This is practically just a movie for a non existent Dark Pictures Anthology game, over even Until Dawn specifically. If i watched this out of context, I'd have no idea it's supposed to be Until Dawn
That’s also what I was thinking, more of a DPA game movie mixed with The Quarry’s Death Rewind mechanic.
I think that is THE killing point. You show the visuals and synopsis to someone without mentioning its supposed to be an Until Dawn movie and nobody would think about mentioning the game what so ever.
0:47 Yeah, can't wait for Cam, Mitchell, Fliss, Bashley, Vemily, Hatt, Gessica, and Gosh! Don't forget Tannah and Meth!😂
Nahhhh, I'm crying 😭
Meth😂😭
LMAOOOOO 😭

2:36 NO WENDIGOS! This is like calling a hot dog stand an ice cream cart!
Its like Mario Kart without Karts!
If the story and characters are different.... WHY USE THE SAME NAME!?
Don't get me wrong, the story looks interesting. But the name makes it look like a cash grab and it pisses me off
As Mr. Krabs loves to say: MONEY 🤑
They could've saved this idea for the dark pictures anthology this would of made a really good game
Ok what the hell- Just the first minute and the "no snow" aspect to this is soo irritating lol. How is this Until Dawn 😭
LIKE SERIOUSLY AT LEAST ADD SNOW CMON 😭
The try again after dying mechanic sounds more like the Death Rewind from The Quarry, so what, everyone has three extra lives and after using them all up, the next time you die it’s for keeps than?

I am still holding out for the Trailer. Again, it DOES look like a fun horror movie! Just not a game accurate Until Dawn movie 😕
Should've been a dark pictures anthology would've made way more sense
If they wanted to do something different but keep the interest of at least some fans, why can't they make it 'in the universe' of Until Dawn... See that would be cool! But naaah, let's make it some time loop thingy that feels completely out of place to the game 💀
I got an awful feeling that the whole premise was in some way generated by an AI, because there is no way they just make a random movie and slap “Until Dawn” on it. I wouldn't go that far to say it was written by ai but I get what you mean by it does not feel like the game.
Literally the only thing remotely similar is the tagline "survive Until Dawn" its actually irritating 😶
The Rosie album in the back is so real 😭
WE STAN AND LOVE ROSIE POSIE.
This absolutely looks like a movie my sister and I would watch, which isn't bad. It's just that there's no point in claiming it's an adaptation of _Until Dawn._

Exactly. Promising horror movie but disappointing Until Dawn movie.
A different title with From The World of Until Dawn would have been a perfect name for a movie just like other spin offs.
So...the only thing shared between the game and movie is literally just the name
Yeeep... what that ain't enough for you? We are such ungrateful fans
Who knows, maybe there'll be a twist, like the house is where Blackwood Mountain used to be. Don't completely lose hope.
Yeah I am still holding out hope! But as of now, the movie has a LOT of catching up to do.
It's not Until Dawn without the OG cast.
See I would have understand a fresh cast to keep up the teenager visuals but yeah this is completely away from the original in every way possible.

Like someone already said Until Dawn name only 😅
As soon as they announced that it would be new characters i was out. But now im definitely not interested, its a completely different thing with the name Until Dawn on it.
I'll give it a chance
Questionable? More like Despicable.😂
Despicable in terms of marketing 100% but idk the movie looks fun still!
I think they just liked the game title a lot tbh
I mean it IS a good premise!
Yeah nothing about the game was Supernatural other than the curse which at least had mythological and logical themes to it.
I still have hope for this film but I understand why it being a different story can be a make or break for people.
So disappointed 😢 just a cash grab
Unfortunately it’s become culturally unacceptable to use wendigos :/
No it hasn’t. Only if you live and breathe Twitter. Everywhere else is fine. Until dawn remake came out and no one was complaining about the use of wendigos. Just being chronically online is where you’ll find people like that.
You just have to do it with respect. They're not cryptids but a part of mythology and lore.
I wouldn't say so, especially if you do a accurate description like the game did it and not that Deer like nonsense that became popular for some reason!
The movie might not have anything to do with Until Dawn, but at least it looks good.
Agreed!
