I dreamt this prayer last night. I woke up this morning not knowing it so I googled it. I don't remember the last time I read Deuteronomy. While spending quiet time with the Lord and meditating on this I was prompted to learn this in Hebrew as in my dream. Thank you. Shalom.
I am a Catholic woman who is reading the Bible beginning at the beginning, with Genesis, so I read this prayer in Deuteronomy. Since I cannot read Hebrew, thank you for teaching me how to pronounce this beautiful prayer phonetically, syllable by syllable. This video made it so easy for a non-hebrew speaker like me to repeat and learn so that I may feel the light once again. Toda raba!
I saw a video recently of an older Jewish gentleman who was hiding when Israel was being attacked. He had been hiding for 22 hours when the IDF banged on his door. He said any Jewish person would know what he was saying. He yelled Shima YIsrael and they yelled back Adonai eloheinu, Adonai echad and they took him to safety. I wondered what was being said. So I looked it up and as a Christian it touched my heart for the gentleman and because I love my God who has adopted me into his family. So now I want to pronounce it. Thank you for posting this.

I was praying in tongues in my room and one of the silables that often "pops up" is " mashem". As I was praying in the spirit, suddenly I said it repeatedly and very fast: "mashemashemashemashema" and then I became aware of what I was saying: "Shemá". It was so clear. Shalom Ayelet, Thankyou very much for bringing us your beautiful lesson on Shema. Firstly, I have to say how much I love your name and your beautiful authentic Hebrew. I have decided quite late in life that I want to learn Shema so I can recite it properly, with Kvod. I come from a part of the world where I had no Hebrew as a child, so for me every word in Torah is a like a brick. But brick is not a bad word. It is a good and appropriate word because it connotes the heavy, laborious work that with care and perseverance can result in Temples and wailing walls. I have to struggle in my learning, but every word is a building block toward insight, understanding and mitzvot. First I hear words. And I must listen. Then I must practice. Perhaps a little will go into my head, Perhaps a smidge into my heart and soul. ************** Now, more mundanely, you invited comments. Firstly, your lesson appears to me to cover only the first few lines of Shema, yet you say it IS the Shema. I am hoping that one day you might give us another lesson with the full Shema. Secondly, if you do give another lesson, please consider using your pointer on the Hebrew words rather than the English transliteration. I think you can assume your viewers already know English and can read the transliteration for themselves. I believe it would be more instructive to point right-to-left on the Hebrew words as you pronounce them. Thankyou again. ************************* May Hashem bring rains in proper times, and days of the heavens on the earth.
Thank you for these enlightening and easy-to-follow videos. I am currently learning Hebrew and your videos are assisting my greatly. I am going to share this particular prayer with my 5th grade students so that we can all say it in Hebrew and English.
Todah Rabah (=Thank you very much) for sharing this with me... Please also keep in mind that you can purchase prints of these posters on my website: www.thewordinhebrew.com. God bless!
Thanks so much for this. You made it so simple. I always wanted to pray the shema but could not do it, but through this teaching, I did it. Praise God thank you. Shalom
Hi Ayelet. I've came across this video about a year ago. I was adopted and raised a Catholic. When I was in my early twenties I read the Christian Old Testament, but for the last few years I've had a Jewish ✡ Torah, with Psalms, Proverbs, and all the Prophets for a couple of years and started my journey recently. Unfortunately I moved, I used to live on the same street as a Shul that had been there since 1913. I met the Rabbi and attended on Shabbo's. He was also born in Israel 🇮🇱, but he moved on to another Shul. I also moved and am a 45 minute or so ride to that Shul. I have no Jewish friends anymore bc they were friends I has when I was in school. I've started to read Talmud also for a couple of years now. Your video has helped me learn the Shema in Hebrew. I already know the short version, but am trying to learn this Shema now. I don't know which way to go now, but I know Hashem will direct me; I live in NYC ! M friend did go to Israel and brought me back some souvenirs which I Love. Thank you for your video Ayelet. I can't wait for the day I can visit Israel as my DNA test revealed that after all I do have Jewish blood, albeit a very small amount it means a lot to me. Shalom.
Yes I also pray this prayer often in the morning with tears of gratitude. Today I just saw it’s in the form of a CROSS. Adonai Echad- each drop of blood to pay for our sins the Lamb shed says I love you.
This is so lovely ☺️ Ty so much for taking the time to create this. I wanted to know what the Shema prayer meant which is what brought me here. I'm a Christian who knows no Hebrew but this has motivated me to want to learn. You are a wonderful teacher & I'm excited to come back to your channel! Blessings to you 🙏💕
I am learning single words now. Abba ada adonai bevakashev shma adonai toda. I feel more close to Adonai with hebrew words. I dont know why but i do. 😄
The Bible says to write this on your door post. I am going to use this to practice my Hebrew writing. Hopefully, I can write it and post it on our door. I think it is beautiful!
I learned to speak French years ago, and while I was almond fluent, could never roll the R correctly, and so I felt I couldn't ever learn a language. But seeing this, and praying this in Hebrew for the first time.....I can't explain it, but I felt an immense joy in my heart saying it, and it made me happy. I know it sounds crazy, but maybe it is a small blessing for me to say it in Hebrew, a mitzvah. Thank you so much for uploading. I do calligraphy ( like a scribe would), and I thought to myself, that I wanted to use this ability God(Yahweh) gave me to learn to write this prayer in Hebrew like it would appear on a scroll, but I despaired of ever being able to say it, as well. Thank you so much for uploading.😇 I will probably have to say this a hundred times to learn it, but I am determined to try.
Thank you for liking my comment! Now that I have written out the Shema in Hebrew, (I actually have calligraphy paper that looks like your picture or poster) for my own use, I will say it in Hebrew every morning and night with my hair covered, (as I did yesterday for the first time). Thank you again so much for posting this. The feeling of warmth in my chest, and the love that flowed through me as I prayed this, was an experience that I shall never forget. The feeling of joy was so strong, I almost couldn't bear it, and I have never had the Lord touch me with such grace and love 💘 as He did yesterday. So I can never thank you enough for making this touch of the Holy Spirit possible for me, by uploading your video. Please keep them coming. I will copy the prayers in Hebrew for myself and my sister to put on all the doors of our house! I haven't felt such a strong desire to do something in years( I am old, lol). God bless you in this ministry of making the Bible's prayers accessible to us in Hebrew. You have added a new dimension to my prayer life. The reason it excites me so, is because I had just been saying to the Lord in prayer, that I would like to praise Him more, but the English language doesn't really lend itself to that. I told Him I would like to find a better way to praise Him. Then along comes your video, as an answer to my prayer. Now I can praise Him in the language of Jesus. What a blessing you have been!
Thank you so much for this video, this was the first time I've ever recited it and after finishing the prayer I cried with happiness. May HaShem bless you.
Boker Tov!!! You are truly a blessing. I wake up now every morning with you. I’m learning and feeling better about Hebrew. Orland Florida USA is where I am at the moment.
Thank you, this is very helpful. I am beginning to learn Hebrew now. I grew up in the USA, but have lived in Japan as a Christian missionary for 30 years. Shalom
Thank you so much sweet lady for sharing Yahs beautiful word in such a divine language you are so appreciated and i know Yah is very pleased with you !
Thankyou for taking the time to teach this. I recently had some window installers crack my front door frame and I wondered what to do about it. I had some plastering done and thought I would repaint the area…but all the paint had dried up. I remembered the idea of the shema on the doorposts. I nearly didn’t do it but then an podcast that was nothing to do with it mentioned the shema. Next day, I am reading Viktor Frankl with my son, and the author talks about finding the shema in a jacket he was given in a concentration camp. Needless to say, I thought God was giving me nudges so I have painted the shema by my door. Now I know how to say it. Thankyou so much.
Praying to learn this language and that the spirit would lead me through this. The next day these videos popped up. Thanks for you efforts . Your a blessing

Thank you. I learned this more than 40 years ago, but now I can share it with friends of mine, that don't know Hebrew at all. 🔯🙏
What a great blessing to hear this in the original language. Praise God. Praise Jesus. Thank you Lord for everything. I worship you Lord. Amen.
I want to pray this to honor God and to remind myself of my relationship to Him. Thank you.
This is fantastic! Thanks for going slowly and providing the transliteration and the Hebrew text all in one. I can do this prayer now! Thanks so much.
Thank you for these enlightening and easy-to-follow videos. I am currently learning Hebrew and your videos are assisting my greatly. I am going to share this particular prayer with my 5th grade students so that we can all say it in Hebrew and English.

Wonderful! 😇🙏
Thank you for sharing this beautiful prayer, Shalom!
Shalom.
This is wonderful! What a blessing that you have made this available on the internet! ! תודה
Shalom may god bless you
.
Yes I also pray this prayer often in the morning with tears of gratitude. Today I just saw it’s in the form of a CROSS. Adonai Echad- each drop of blood to pay for our sins the Lamb shed says I love you.
God bless Yisrahel our older brothers and sisters. ADONAI He is Great He is Awesome!
I’m watching this every day until I learn it perfectly. Great instructional. God bless!
Blessings to you 🙏💕
Thank you for freely making this available! Shalom.
I am learning single words now. Abba ada adonai bevakashev shma adonai toda. I feel more close to Adonai with hebrew words. I dont know why but i do. 😄
Same!
Thank you very much for this. Your channel is truly a service to humanity.
Beautiful! I am loving learning this language! I feel this is God's language!
Thank you "ToDa" 64 yrs and so hard for me to learn, but a little is better than none at all
Thank you so much for this video, this was the first time I've ever recited it and after finishing the prayer I cried with happiness. May HaShem bless you.
Thank you! I want to learn the prayer for me and keep Israel in my prayers
Thank you. You made it easy to recite. I will practise till I learn this sacred prayer by heart. Shalom

What a blessing to have found this video. I have been looking for a resource to learn selected prayers in Hebrew, and this video and your others are better than anything I had hoped to find. Thank you.
I love this channel so much. As a Christian I like saying the shema prayer 🙏🥰

Thank you so much for sharing this video. Listening, repeating and memorising these beautiful words of the Bible makes my heart rejoice!
Peace be with you. Thank you for the careful way in which you taught us. The slow/normal pace was good for the learning of the Shema. Shalom

Thank you very much. This is the very first time I hear The Shema in Hebrew & say it following your voice. A very special moment for my soul. Thank you!
Greetings! I just saw your testimony at the Messianic Synegoge I go to on Shabbat. We see one almost every Shabbat. I have my own testimony in Yeshua. I was delivered from transgenderism among other things. I'm so grateful these teaching videos of the Hebrew prayers are here on UA-cam

Sandy Marie The LORD bless you through the Holy Spirit, Ruach HaKodesh, in Yeshua's mighty name!
Weberman Elisheva May the Risen Savior draw you near to Him, sanctify you, and show you the truth.
Be well my friend and God bless you.
I'm learning Hebrew, just a beginner. This is a great resource for reading and pronunciation. Not to mention hearing the Word as it is meant to be spoken is beautiful.
Shalom......Thank you very much for the lesson... It was wonderful. My first time reading hebrew.. God bless.....
THANK YOU SO MUCH 💓 I ENJOY LEARNING HEBREW WITH YOU ❤
Thank you for this great lesson. I'm a Catholic, and we are taught that the Shema is "the first and greatest commandment."
All Christians are taught that. Jesus said it himself in Matthew 22:36-37.
and yet you believe in a trinity ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@@happyjellyfish because it's through out the whole bible. In the beginning yahweh said let us create man in our image. Are the Angel's created in the image of God? If not who was he speaking to? It says the spirit of yahweh was hovering over the face of the earth and God said let us. Who was God speaking to? But I'm not going to argue about it, I'll let You find out on judgement day, not saying you are going to hell but I am saying we will all be face to face wiTh him.
@@happyjellyfish Not all Christians believe in the trinity, I am a wittness now & I believe YHWH our God is the only true God , the trinity was invented by a pagan lawyer name Tertullian, unfortunately the Catholic church adopted this along with pagan holidays n the other main stream church adopted it,

@@chezhaataja Yes, and many Christians, as myself, are learning that the Old Testament isn't "dead" as many false teachers would have you to believe.
Shalom, and thank you from Texas, USA.❤
I love you Israel. I'm Italian. I ' m a christian. My roots are there. Than you so much dear sister for teaching me the shema in its original language.God bless every step you take!
Glory to God in Highest Heaven 🙏🙏
